This gym is hands down the best gym in Columbia and one of the best in South Carolina. Friendly owner and staff who care about customers.

Reminds my of "the gym" in California! Loved it. Love the American flag and the old school mentality.

Fantastic gym loaded with equipment. It gets a little tight at certain times of the day, but I love the lack of air conditioning and open garage doors. Can't wait to go back!

Chimene the massage therapist at Brickhouse is truly amazing. Her presence is very welcoming and relaxing. I went to her because of some ongoing soreness and knots in my back and I just felt super tight. After my sessions with her, I feel so relaxed and not tight. I do the same workouts but now I don’t feel as sore and my lifts are improving!!! Thank you Chimene <3

Chimene is the massage therapist at Brickhouse and she is wonderful. I had been sore for awhile and had a few knots in my back so I did a session with her. After the session, I felt more relaxed and not tight at all. I felt better and my lifts improved!! THANKS CHIMENEEEE

I have only experienced Brickhouse Gym as a visit to Chimene for a massage, but what an experience! She has immense strength in her hands as well as her intuitive knowledge in order to know where and how to release tension and muscle blocks, and I stepped off the table feeling like I'd left pounds of tension on it. In short, one of the most healing massages of my life, resetting not just soothing. Thank you Chimene!

It's a typical gym, nothing special. It's very small and unless you go to workout before ten in the morning you will be dealing with the typical meatheads and space space pirates that are there to talk and roam around. The guy named Lee gives his supposedly extensive background upon every introduction to a new person that comes (I assume that's his sales pitch for his qualifications in regards to being a personal trainer), Seems like an insecure mentality to me. I would not pay that guy to train me. He just goes around taking to people which is bothersome. There really isn't anything special about this gym other than a couple of hard to find gym apparatuses, but the lack of space and the attitude of people there isn't worth the fee. Planet fitness while having different atmosphere has way more space and nicer amenities. Admittedly the. equipment at Planet fitness is just Ok, but how much work does a person really need to get a pump? Brick house tries to have the "old school" feeling but comes up short giving more of a good old boy "in crowd" feeling instead.

Pretty nice place! Really cordial staff and an overall chill vibe. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

An old school gym at the heart of Columbia and after visiting few times, figured it was a great opportunity to leave a review! So one thing about this place, it's not your average gym; not like a planet fitness. There are more diverse equipment here to hit various body parts, but it's also older equipment. Think of it as the "old school" gym. More experienced or serious lifters come here, so keep that in mind. During the summer time, we all know how hot South Carolina can be, but this place has no AC; just a giant fan in the middle of the ceiling. It's not bad at all during the winter, it's cold enough outside where the inside is still cool enough to work out comfortably in tank tops. Only reason why I didn't subscribe to this place was the price. It's pretty expensive and not even open 24/7 without the extra amenities other gyms have. If you're going for the vibe, definitely the place to be. Plenty of parking so no worries on that.

Pretty decent gym for the average gym goer, would’ve been 5 stars if it was a 24 hour gym.

I went to this gym during a 10 week clinical rotation. It is by far the best gym I have been to and now that I am back home I miss it. At Brickhouse you won't experience a lot of the BS that happens at other gyms. Everyone here is serious about their workouts and the environment is very motivating. There are plenty of squat racks, deadlift platforms, and I can't speak for the afternoon/evening, but in the morning it was never overly crowded and I could always use the equipment I needed. We need more gyms like this.

Gym has a ok selection of equipment but very poor locker rooms and the staff is without a doubt the least friendly and most unhelpful of any gym I've ever been to. Im not sure how the old guy with a mustache remains employed there as he acts like he is annoyed/irritated every time he has to interact with a customer. It's also a bit on the expensive side for what it offers compared to most other gyms. I would not recommend this gym if you have other options located closer to you.
