Opened account online after hours. Quick and easy to transfer money from my prior credit union. Received a call early the next day from Stephanie to finalize my account. Very friendly and good communication. Overall, a good experience with Caro and I like the savings round up feature they offer along with the rewards checking.

I have been banking here since I arrived in Columbia from Canada in 1995. Big banks would not give me a credit card or cash cheques in American dollars drawn on Canadian Banks (as a foreigner, I was considered to have no financial history even though my previous credit card was with Citibank and my pay was being directly deposited). Carolina Collegiate, as it was then known did all that for me and were so wonderful that I have been their loyal customer ever since. I don't know who suggested the goofy new name or the ostentatious, pillared new building (with the most grindingly depressing, generic interior) and all the policy changes, but I have to agree with the other reviewers that they now have the inconveniences of a small bank plus the obliviousness and rapaciousness of a big one. The ATMs cannot read most of the cheques I try to deposit, but the only branch with actual people at it is not convenient. Even simple questions go through an annoying automated screening process and if you are lucky enough to get an actual human being on the phone they rarely know what they are doing. It takes forever to get problems resolved because the people at the bank do not return calls. I will only be here for a couple more years so I will stick it out, but is so disappointing to see this delightful, small and friendly bank turn into what appears to be an undergraduate marketing project gone wrong.

Poor online format doesn't allow you to name your accounts. Sent my bank card to the wrong location. Closes down early or at random times.

Not happy to take off work to take care of some business and arrive at this location to see a sign on the door closed for an hour for lunch! Change you hours on your Google Business Page, email your customers, communicate before you slap up a sign on the door please!

Reviews and score about right. Feel like they've abandoned their customer service and loyalty to UofSC. They only reason why I stayed was because of the banker at Upstate. Now that she retired and the branch closed. I'm switching banks.

The Worst!!!! They will charge your accounts $10 a month with no notice! I had multiple accounts and lost close to $300. I've had these accounts since I was in college so about ten years. I just closed all of my accounts today! ✌

Terrible! BEWARE - they will steal your money! We opened accounts there about 17 years ago and were required to have a minimum balance in a savings account that we were not allowed to touch. I called this week to get information on a new car loan and discovered that they had closed my account and took all the money with dormant fees. This happened 2 years ago and this is how I found out! They had my correct contact information but never contacted me with any information about this. They just hide behind their disclosures. I have never had any activity on this account because we weren't allowed to touch the funds, but after 15 years of handling the account they now suddenly charge "dormant fees" after 1 year then steal your money. BEWARE

These people are crooks. They will charge you illegal fees, and the give you the run around when you challenge them. Phone calls are answered by someone in Illinois as I don't think they have any local bank officers. They used to be much better. Don't know if they were taken over by another institution or what but they seem to be going under and are trying to grab as much money on the way out as they can. I am closing my account today.
