Prices usually are higher than the shelf tag or sign indicates. Generally this means that store management fails to have current shelf tags put on the items that represent the current prices. If you shop here you will understand how this can happen. High turnover, incompetent clerks and clueless, inarticulate management all add up to a store which only be a last resort. I only shop here because it is very close to my house.By the way they do not honor the FamilyDollar satisfaction guarantee. If a package is opened, even if you have a receipt, they will refuse a refund or replacement.

I want to give 0 stars to this Irmo location...they always lie and say you can't add money to your Bluebird card for whatever reason they want to make up... they have you waiting in this long line just to tell you the bluebird card system is down they can't add money to no pre-paid cards ...why not post a sign on the front door or get their system fix ? every time I leave there after I'm refused service no other Family Doller has a issue with ther pre-paid system that's why I believe they're lying to me , but I will never go back there. The Broad River location is better anyway, and why keep Irmo open if people have to go to another location just to get what they need?

Normally customer service is great at this location but I suppose certain employees are to comfortable on the job. While checking out cashier just hold another private conversation. That's just rude!! Make sure employees understand appropriate conversationin front of customers.

I love this store. I usually have very good experience with the help and assistance from the store employee's. And I love the store hours. I can count on being able to find most needed items day or night and the employees always know where to find a item it I can't. And they will walk you right to what you are looking for if at all possible. I'm think that is good service.

Are you searching for a store that is professionally managed with courteous staff, acceptable in-stock levels, items well-tagged in the proper locations, and clean? Then, this store is NOT for you. I will say that the store is consistent....consistently shoddy, many out of stocks, rude management, dirty, many missing tags and price signs, and out of date merchandise. This evening I went to this store to pick up some band-aids and rubbing alcohol. When in line I stood way back because the customer in front of me was not weating a mask; the manager and clerk did not seem to care. Finally-ten minutes later-it was my turn to be rung up. The rubbing alcohol rang up $2.50 (for a 16 ounce bottle!). I told the manager that the shelf tag read $1.50. She remarked that the item must have been put in the wrong place. I then told her I did not want it....she shrugged her shoulders and I paid for the bandages. No apologies and no telling the clerk standing next to her to look into the tagging and shelf placement of the item. As I was leaving, I noticed a stack of 12 pack Miller Lite beer.......expiration date of May 20, 2020. Of course no price sign. The stack had been up for several months. Pathetic. The ONLY reason I occasionally visit here is that it is so close to my house. Guess I'll have to travel a few more miles to patronize a decent store.
