We were referred to Guild by our realtor and we are so thankful. They are hands down the best mortgage company! Everything went extremely smooth and closed on our house on the exact date we expected. Beth and Dennis were great to work with! This was a great experience for us as first time home buyers!

If you want a loan officer who will hang up on you......Athena Leventis is your girl. I was really surprised by her actions.....Being in a service business. I think maybe the local college offers some classes on how to treat people. I really feel sorry for Athena. In my opinion, she is not a real nice person.

There's much to say about a company that has integrity and does what they say they will do. I asked Mr. Watson to follow up with me in a month because he had given me some instructions. I have completely followed through on my tasks, but he followed up in a month just as I ask. I'm looking forward to working with this company and I appreciate his willingness to "coach" me to get the end results I want and need! Integrity is a lost characteristic these days...but this company knows EXACTLY what it is!

John Allen Babson and his team at Guild Mortgage were excellent in helping navigate through the home buying process. His knowledge and commitment to ensuring the process goes as smoothly as possible are second to none. If there were more than 5 start to give, I would give them. I am under 35 and have paid off all student loans and a quarter million dollar mortgage on a state government salary, but re-financing with Guild was the biggest financial mistake I have made. Getting the loan was quick, easy and entirely painless and I cannot say a single poor thing about that, nor the local Columbia office. However once you sign the papers the customer service is completely gone. I have spent the last 6 months arguing and calling, weekly, to get my payment checks placed in my account correctly. The customer service representatives all know me, and now does some of the management as this was escalated. I encourage anyone with them to track every payment and how it should affect the remaining balance and amount paid so far. If I had not tracked this myself, I would be paying a lot extra for no reason.

Daughter refused with them. Taxes in escrow. Asked several times about paying taxes as they were due at the time of refi as well. Guild confirmed several times taxes would not be paid twice. The taxes were paid twice. This has been going on since November 2020. The the check numbers where the county retired the extra payment to Guild. Guild refuses to put this money back into escrow. Now they’ve re-evaluated the loan and increased the payment by $100.00 to make up for escrow shortage that they caused and refuse to put monies refunded to them back into my daughter’s account. Was told Friday they would contact us today. No one called. Guess I’m going to file charges in court tomorrow for theft, interest, penalties, attorney fees and anything else the attorney advises. Cannot in good conscience recommend this company.
