My husband and I were driving back home and decided that Columbia would be our halfway point. I was very surprised with how clean and fresh the hotel was. The front staff, Byron, was very accommodating and kind. He had a great energy that kept us positive throughout our stay.Great location, clean room, and helpful staff!

My third stay here but the last one was 3 yrs ago or more. Attention to detail not as good. Friendly prompt checkin on Sunday. Overflowing trash cans at front entrance. Dirty carpet at front entrance. My room was overall OK but furniture showing wear and tear. Bathroom Grout around tub and tiles overdue for replacement. HGI, you can be better. I probably will shop other hotels at same price point when in the area.

Very disappointed that the description, stated the room sleeps 3 when in fact it only sleeps 2 with single king bed. They expect 3 ppl to sleep in a king bed. No roll away available. Was able to obtain additional bedding for my daughter to sleep on the floor. Shame on me for not inquiring however shame on Hilton for false advertising. Also disappointed with the cooling system in the room. Thermostat in wall doesn’t work and had to put AC unit under window to 65 in order to get room to a reasonable temp in order to sleep.Thank you to front desk Bryon I believe his name was for attempting to try and make things right. Unfortunately, not the experience we had hoped for.

For us, good service makes or breaks hotels. We stayed in this hotel one night and while the lobby was under construction and the restaurant barely functioning a man named Lorenzo - who likely is a cook/chef at the hotel - waited on all the tables. He was terrific under the circumstances. We had a nice meal with good service. This extended to the front desk team as well. Very happy we stayed here.

I am sorry to say, but this was a horrible hotel stay. My Godmother paid for herself plus 3 of us to have a weekend away. Went went from Baltimore to Columbia, SC to stay at this Hilton to be subjected to them currently being under renovations. The entire hotel smelled of fresh paint and construction. The lobby entrance was blocked by a construction truck and workers. The lobby had tarp up with workers painting and things in the walkway. On Saturday morning we went downstairs for breakfast to find a tarp up over the food area and mold on the wall. Completely unsanitary, when I asked for extra towels and wash cloths I was told that they did not have anymore and that housekeeping would bring them in the morning...never got them. I went to the front desk to see if I could get them and was given 1 towel and 2 wash cloths that were yellowing. The Hilton has really come down but they are still charging top price. The young lady that was at the front desk Sunday morning was singing R&B like she was on stage...lol. My Godmother is on a fixed income and to have spent this type of money for this service, she should be refunded. Horrible. Several of the guest were complaining.

This hotel used a bait and switch. Advertised all sorts of common amenities and had none. Heated indoor pool freezing , fitness center is nothing more than a referral to a local center for an additional fee. Room was tiny, the "kitchen" is only a microwave and mini fridge. Room smelled awful and sparsely decorated much like a Motel 6. Really seemed low rent for high prices. If you can find something else do it. I moved about a block away and they had what they promised. But Hilton has failed miserably with this property. Where others offer complimentary breakfast this place charges up to $15. They also charge extra for anything you use toilet paper, shampoo, soap, water, electricity, using the hallway, pay per flush on the toilet and tv fee. They call the fee "for incidentals". with no notice until you check out then Bam you're out another $25 they charge whether you use their inferior products or not..I'm being factitious too a degree but the greed and lack of transparency this property shows is unusual for the Hilton brand. You can do just as well at a Red Roof or a Super 8. The just don't accept Hilton Honors. I will be contacting corporate and having a long talk about this brand killing location.

I just had a two day stay at this hotel which is under construction. My stay was less than great. When I checked in there were construction workers drilling and sawing with loud machines in a roped off area adjacent to the checkin counter. I could hardly hear the front desk staff employee. I had to ask her to repeat herself at least 3 times during check in. I was expecting my grandchildren to come to hotel for a visit so I told them to bring their swimsuits. When we got to the pool area, there was a sign on the pool door stating that the heater in the pool was not working but you could still swim. I tested the water and it was way too cold to swim in. I also had been looking forward to doing a workout in the morning only to find out the fitness room was closed. Very disappointed to say the least. To top it off that evening there were very loud voices coming from the hallway. I tried to ignore it at first but the noise increased. I peeked out into the hallway to find a Hispanic man banging on another guest doorway. I politely asked him to keep the noise down. He did not respond. I tried laying back down and the noise continued and got louder.I then had to call the front desk and complain. They said they would send security up. The following day I left for 6 hours only to come back to an unclean room! I had no clean towels and no coffee for morning. I called the front desk and they said they would send some up. A while later a hotel employee did come up with a couple clean towels and some coffee but no creamer. I am very disappointed and would like to make a formal complaint. Also no free WiFi unless you are an “honors” member! I would not recommend! I will be asking for compensation for the inconvenience!Safety: Was not very safe with all kinds of construction workers roaming hotel.Walkability: I tried walking the stairs for some exercise only to find out there was caution tape cross crossed at exit door and I could not enter. This happened on 2 floors.

This hotel could do with closing for a proper refurb, rather than charging full price while offering half a service to guests. The pool is ice cold (the heater has apparently been broken for a week now) and the gym has been all torn out so is not in use. It's pretty annoying to come to a place expecting certain facilities and finding none of them are usable.
