We booked a block of rooms for our soccer team for two consecutive weekends. Kelly was very helpful setting up the block, following up with number of reservations, and reminding us of deadlines. Becky worked the front desk both weekends and was extremely helpful and friendly. She remembered our names from each visit, had rooms ready early for us on a particularly cold, wet day, and accommodated all special requests. Becky literally handed us our keys as we walked in wet, cold and loaded down with bags, no wait at all to check in. The rooms were clean, breakfast was great, the breakfast room was a great gathering spot in the evenings, and the location very convenient. Thank you so much!

Well when I first arrived I automatically fell in love. With the atmosphere. How small and quiet it was but with huge rooms. I'm not a fan of standard rooms so always upgrade. And this one was worth it. However the "manager" at he front desk each morning, suggested on my second day, she'd be calling the cops bc it was 30 mins past check out. At 1130am! Mind you, as a member, I can ask for any kind of late check out up to 2pm. The first day, I liked it so much I decided to stay again to hopefully get to swim the 2nd day. I asked for a late check out due to some issues with my bank. And my corporate office. I travel tons and a lot of times it's on business so I use a corporate code. Well I used points my first night so when I changed the rate plan my corporate account was deleted. It took my office maybe an hour I'd say, after noon, which was when she said I could stay until, to get back to me with the okay that my account was fixed. I stayed in contact with the front desk at least every 30 mins to update them. So the next morning this lady decided to say I played too many games the previous day so the cops presence warranted them to arrive upon my departure as if to say I was trying to stay any longer than anticipated. If I had, I would've called for another late check out but I was actually on time that morning. So decided it was not needed. The call to my room killed every good thing about this place. I live in Columbia but nowhere near this side of town. It rubbed me the wrong way. And like I said, I'm a very frequent traveler. Mostly with Hilton as I'm a diamond member there. Well I'd been expieremeting with ihg and had nothing but great things to say. Staybridge is great and candlewood suites. Unfortunately I won't be doing too much more expieremeting out of my comfort zone. I'm not sure I'll be visiting any holiday inn Express anytime soon.Food & drinks: The breakfast was actually the best hotel breakfast I'd had in a long time. That's coming from a frequent traveler that stays in hotels 50% of my time, if not more. Compliments to the chef.

Love this holiday and express and suites in Columbia, South Carolina. Everything was perfect when I tell you perfect it was perfect. Dove soap for your usage, refrigerator, microwave, storage closet with a safe ironing board with iron, I would always come back to this hotel five stars across the line. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Oh yeah I forgot breakfast in the morning. Heart breakfast, cold breakfast. It was very delightful. Enjoyed myself. Thank you again. Oh I almost forgot they have a poolRooms: Very nice rooms. Clean pillows. Fantastic dove soap for your use. Different kinds of Dove soap. Very relaxingWalkability: Unload your things. Go inside if you're not on the first floor elevator availableFood & drinks: Plenty restaurants surrounding waffle House in the front but there are more restaurants down the street. Went to Zaxby's and it was very good. Very fresh and hot. Thanks Zaxby's

I cannot say enough good things about our stay at this hotel. We were visiting Columbia from out of state and spent 5 nights. We were traveling with a 10 month old baby so I always bring cleaning wipes to wipe things down because she puts everything in her mouth. I was pleasantly surprised with wiping things down including the floors because she crawls that my wipes came up clean. Which is huge!! The pack and play and sheets they provided us with for our baby to sleep in was very nice and clean. Looked brand new.The hotel rooms also have a nice counter space with a microwave, Keurig coffee machine and a mini fridge underneath. The bathrooms have Dove products (shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body wash) and a blow-dryer.The housekeeping staff does an amazing job. The rooms were not only clean but very modernized and had a fresh feel to them. The hotel is quiet we never had a problem hearing people in the halls or in rooms next to us.The breakfast in the morning was great and a huge convenience, everything was fresh and had good flavor to it.The staff as a whole were wonderful and very friendly. Everytime you passed a staff member in the halls, elevator or by the front desk you were always greeted with a smile and kind words. We are so glad we chose this hotel to stay in while we were on vacation. It helped make our time away from home comfortable. We were there Sept 8th through the 13th and we would like to thank everyone that was on staff. You were all very friendly, accommodating and made our time away from home comfortable. Thank you from the Caldwell family.

Being a IHG Diamond member is supposed to expedite services. This property however has taken it on their own to make it very inconvenient for IHG members. I travel over 125,000 miles a year for work! NEVER, have I not been allowed to extend my stay for ONE night! This property’s GM apparently has taken a brilliant stance, that ALL guests must be inconvenienced by booking a additional reservation to stay a additional night!!! You have to check out to check back in; reprogram room keys; notify housekeeping that room now is NOT a check out, all just to stay a additional night? The nonsense of this policy even mystified IHG corporate! I’ve filed a formal complaint about this property to IHG! I’m also drafting a e-mail to the Ownership group: Palmetto Investments. Stay away from this property if you want to be treated like a normal IHG Diamond member!!!Noteworthy details: Worthless nonsensical policies!!!

Not bad. Did have a problem with water leaking in my room after a storm. The front desk gave me towels to clean up but I have small children so that was a little concerning.

The bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent, the breakfast was good, the staff was friendly. The noise level was horrible. Our room was over the entrance and faced onto a busy road and the Waffle House. The windows offered absolutely no noise insulation. I could hear details of conversations and the music choices of people sitting on a bench outside under our window. At 4:15, I was awakened by what sounded like vacuuming in the hallway. At 5:00, I was awakened by footsteps in the room overhead and a loud car leaving the parking lot. At 6:00, I was awakened by the garbage truck banging around outside. The hotel is under renovation, but that was not the problem. It is a very noisy area and the hotel has almost no noise insulation. If you stay there, I recommend asking for a room on the back side away from the road.

Ray was super helpful at the front desk. I was running errands in the area and needed to print some materials for a very important meeting. FedEx was too far, and I do not think they were even open due to the time of day. Ray welcomed me into the hotel, and offered to print the documents for me so I could be on my way. If the front desk is this nice, I am sure the hotel stay would be just as nice and wonderful. I was so thankful he could help me at the last minute! Highly recommend!

The hotel itself is pretty clean the people are nice. However I left my room Saturday and left the do not disturb sign on the outside of the door. When I came back they had come in and made the beds, luckily they were honest and didn't steal anything but I didn't like the fact that they just came in and ignored the sign. They didn't change the sheets. Also there was a stain on the sheets from prior to my visit. Everything looked & smelled clean. Breakfast was ehh okay, the gravy was super runny and the biscuits were hard.Half of the parking was closed off for something so parking wasn't exactly easy.Saturday and Sunday morning I was awoken to drilling/hammering or some kind of construction in the hallway/wall. It was incredibly loud and annoying. For $130 a night I expected more.I've stayed at quite a few HIE and this was the first that truly let me down. I will say the staff is incredibly nice and courteous.Posting a video of what I woke up to. ?Doing loud construction while guests are trying to sleep/rest is absolutely ridiculous.

Overall not a bad place to stay, however I could go for more communication between the general manager and the front desk staff. This hotel was booked for nearly two months in advance of a trip. We had two rooms but once we realized we could fit in one, I emailed the hotel for clarification on a room, and the canceled the room. The day of our check in, I got a "room upgrade" awesome I thought however, it was that we were being moved to a room that would no longer accommodate our party size. When we checked in I was first told the room I booked didn't exist, yet I confirmed it, so they put us in a different room. Upon informing the front desk that this was not going to work I was then told oh we can put you in two rooms free of charge, great I thought we would have plenty of room to spread out. HOWEVER the manager came in and then said OH no, your room is here BUT the hot water doesn't work (well it does but its tricky) turn on bathroom sink first then turn on shower and it should work (that didn't work). So here is your room, okay we were in the first room I booked but with no hot water (you can use the room next to you IF you need but come to the front desk to get the key first).Look no one wants to get up at 3am to find the hot water is not working in a shower then toddle to the front desk asking for the key and having to explain the situation to the night guy, twice. The room was okay, clean, no hot water or you had to figure out the code to turn it on. Staff was friendly but they needed to get their story straight and honestly don't put someone in a room with no hot water or a tricky situation to turn it on.Easily accessible to the interstate, breakfast locations, gas stations and the gates to Ft Jackson. Didn't eat the breakfast as we were gone before the day even started.
