Terrible experience. This place is always dirty. The staff is hit or miss on proper customer service; mostly miss. Each staff member will recommend different lotions and “teach” you how to use each bed differently. They’re supposedly trained on every procedure and bed but I don’t understand how their information they feed customers can vary so much with proper training. I suppose this is why they continuously have a “now hiring” sign in their window. Upon being informed incorrectly of how to cancel my membership, I was then charged. Convenient. I was given a cooperate number to call to request a refund. The cooperate number is actually commented in some of the replies from Ultra Tan. I tried various times to reach someone the first time I called with no answer at all. The second attempt (different day), I explained the situation and the line went dead on their end. I remained on the line over 2 minutes waiting for connection to come back. It did not. So I hung up and tried again. The lady informed me that they lost internet and she’d looked up my account and there is nothing that can be done. I asked if an exception could be made since their staff was uninformed and that was the cause of this situation. She simply replied “well, you’ve informed me that person no longer works there so I’m not sure if what good it will do.”Do not do business here by any means.

I have been with this place for over a year. Froze my account for a year and paid $5.50 a month doing nothing. Decided to come back on the 8th and reactivate my membership. Wanted to use have it for a month. Went back on the 26th to freeze it again since I am going to be gone most of the next month. I confirmed that nothing was going to be taken out of my account but they tried to. Now I am unable to tan until I pay it and it's the 4th. I should be able to tan until the 8th since I paid on the 8th of March. This is what they do to a long time customer. I pay the same amount of what a month membership is for $5.50 a month when I don't even go visit the facility but because I was one day late on freezing my account but was told nothing would happen I am being treated this way. I was NEVER told I HAD to freeze my account by the 25th. Also, when I paid on the 8th I shouldn't have to pay anything for the next month again until the 8th. I recommend that NOBODY ever goes to this facility. This is the one over by the Walgreens on Forum drive in Columbia South Carolina. I was never treated like s*** at the one on Forest Drive. Even the corporate office said this stuff to them to tell me. So I am so far beyond frustrated and disappointed with this company. I will not refer anyone to this company. I was more than happy to before all of this happened. All they had to do was treat a long term customer the way a customer should be treated. I would actually give no stars if I could have it my way but unfortunately can't.

No sign on the door they were closing early on Labor Day. Said they sent an email..... how long does it take to write closing at 5 Monday Labor Day. Really.... to pricey for the service but since they have a lock on tanning in this area. The employees are very lazy at the Forum Dr location.Service: Tanning

I used to work at a tanning salon and know what's a reasonable price. They charge triple the amount. They also do not acknowledge frontline workers at all. AT ALL. No discounts unless you got the military. No offense, but some of us have been risking our lives on the covid front line and need a break. You couldn't even do that. I got an original price of $33 for a stand up bed, 1 time walk in. I included a tanning lotion sample, also a pair of peepers (the red plastic ones with the string). Total $62. Not even exaggerating. I was in a bind, having a crazy day and wanted to just get the vitamin d in near my house especially since I work night shift as an RN. They don't give Healthcare staff discounts, the price is outrageous. One of their bottles of lotion costs $155, but I can find the same brand, same size online for $68. Their stand up bed is old too. You cannot justify the outrageous prices. They will get you one way or another with the price. You either pay the subscription fee or they will try to charge that same amount as the subscription fee for a one time visit. I'm so glad I didn't subscribe here. Outrageous. Thanks for not acknowledging frontline workers. I will drive further away next time and plan better for a more reasonably priced tanning salon.

I went in for a spray tan and they told me to pay more than I usually do. I asked why, they checked my previous purchases and saw the price I usually pay then rang me up at my normal lower price. Then the manager said no the first price was right after they already charged my card. So I asked for a refund. They told me they don’t do refunds in the store and gave me a phone number that went straight to voicemail. I said I’d like to speak to the next level of management on the phone. They refused to call anyone. I demanded some sort of written receipt for the transaction before I left because it was all so shady. I sent the refund request via email. They replied that I’m not eligible for a refund because the system is showing that I received the spray tan. I had to explain the situation via email and eventually was refunded.Terrible experience every time. I’ve been going here for two years as an absolute Last resort. I’ve never had a pleasant experience. They are either on a personal call at the desk, or don’t know how to ring up a transaction, or leave me in the booth naked because they never started it properly. I won’t be going back.

Aimee was absolutely delightful! Pleasant, knowledgeable and with it being my first tan ever she made me feel at ease. I highly recommend this place and its services.
