I can’t say enough good things about them! So I’m new to the salon, but I was searching for somewhere that had a good focus on curly hair, and THIS IS IT! I’ve had both Danielle and Jessi cut and style my curls, and I feel like a new person every time I leave! 32 years of curly hair, and I’ve never really been thrilled leaving a hair cut UNTIL THESE LADIES! Everyone is super personable, the vibes are immaculate, the alt feel is really comforting. I’m a fan, five stars, highly recommend!

My daughter has curly hair and had horrible experiences with haircuts at other places in the past. We gave RPS a shot because a friend recommended Jess. She was SO happy with her cut and color… and the experience in general! The salon has a unique atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I’m so happy we gave them a shot!

Jessi was amazing. I went in for a color correction to get rid of some grown out black permanent dye. I was nervous going into it, as I'd never done the process before and was worried about bleaching my hair, but Jessi gave me the exact results that I wanted. Plus, throughout the process she made me feel very comfortable and was very fun to talk to, answering all of my questions involving the process and just some fun chit chat. She also won't hold back from giving you some helpful tips and insider info if you ask! Will be back if I ever need my color done again! <3

New to the Columbia area and decided to check out this Salon since it was close to me. Lauren did a peekaboo blonde on my very dark brown hair with money pieces. It was BEAUTIFUL. It’s been a few weeks now and it still looks so good! She made me feel comfortable and was so understanding of how i wanted my hair. She even let me eat my lunch in her chair the first time we met. She educated me and kept things realistic while also getting me hair where i wanted it. All the other hairdressers were so kind to me and complimented my hair.
I recommended this salon to my boyfriend since he had been unhappy with his last few hair cuts at a different place, and i had such a good experience with Lauren. I believe he saw Jessi/Cupcake. He LOVED his hair. It was exactly as he wanted it, he was in and out of the salon quick like he wanted, and she was respectful and understanding of him being an introvert.
Overall i love the people here and think they do great hair!

I def recommend Jessica Burke for your curly hair style wants and needs !! She knew how to work with my hair and introduced me to new product and methods to style . She made me feel so comfortable !! Not only that but it was important that she didn’t take too much off which can always be scary with a pixie cut let alone fixing one (I chopped it myself at first) I love her work. I had and amazing experience here ! I’m also pregnant and she offered me a cold water as well which was needed in this weather . Love yall!

This salon absolutely rocks! I wanted a salon that really understands curly hair and this one is it 100%. Zoe is so so sweet and does an amazing job with color and Jessi Bassett (Cupcake) cuts/styles my hair phenomenally. I will never go anywhere else in Columbia. Would recommend 10/10.

Great for curly hair! I came in as a walk-in and was accommodated by the wonderful Danielle (I hope I spelled her name correctly). She walked me through everything and she very clearly knows what she's doing. I told her I wanted the remaining color in my hair and split ends cut. She suggested that I gradually cut the color since it would be a lot of hair. She then asked me a couple questions and offered me some options regarding the cut. She helped me settle on the curly cut, my first one, with layers and I absolutely love it! The salon itself was very cool. Kind of felt like I walked into a tattoo shop. The other staff seemed friendly as well. I would love to come again!

My daughter asked her friend at work who does your hair? Her hair was always done beautifully, and after 5 tries with stylists around the area, my daughter finally had it. Her friend told her about RPS, she went in, and loved her hair. Now I watched her hair for a few weeks looking for brassiness, changes, and there was none!!!
Now I wanted to try it too! What a nostalgic, hip, place to be pampered.
The inside is like taking a trip back in time to the 70’s, yet nice little treatments, and a beautifully painted wall.
Ashley did my hair, as she did my daughters, while listening to my needs, and she took it from there. No more brassiness, and I loved my new color.
Ashley was friendly, kind, down to Earth, and concentrated on her client, not what was going on around the salon.
At the opposite end is a man’s salon, which also looked nostalgic.
The vibe at RPS was a warm one, and a bit family oriented.
I looked at the finished work of the other clients of the stylists, and was impressed!
At RPS you will find a diverse collection of beautiful ladies getting their hair done, from a beautiful lady of color, whose haircut was stunning on her, too ladies from their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, and a vintage lady like myself, and they all left with wonderful cuts, styles, and color.
We will most definitely go back! We finally found our salon home thanks to Ashley at Rock, Paper, Scissors.
