We paid off our car loan almost one month ago. We were told they would send the title out within a couple of weeks. One month later and still no title. Wife calls the Greenville branch and discovered that the money was placed in a separate savings account. No problem they say. Credited the car account as being paid. Told wife to go to the Columbia branch and they would issue a lien release letter so we could get a duplicate title. Went to the Columbia branch where they contacted the Greenville branch and confirmed THEIR error. Columbia branch tells my wife we still have to wait 10 days to get the title despite their error. Unprofessional and disrespectful service. We sold this car already to personal friends and now they have to wait until we get the title. Never do business with this firm. They were not helpful despite numerous errors on their part. A business that operates in this manner deserves to go out of business.

UPDATE: SPERO FINANCIAL has gone from bad to worse. They are now holding deposits and transactions as long as they can in hopes that you will go into the negative with “pending” transactions. EXAMPLE. my hard balance was positive. On the 21st It showed on my online banking that a deposit was cleared. So knowing the paycheck was there and I had an available to spend balance I paid some high bills in the 22nd. The bills were within my limit. They ended up taking my deposit marking it as pending on the 22nd so that when the transactions were made they would be negative and I’d be charged a fee for each one. I have closed my account and will bank somewhere else from now on. I don’t make a lot of money so this really punches me where it hurts. DO NOT BANK HERE.

Can’t even call a local branch that I have used since 1998 , I used to be able to call them now all calls go through “corporate “. Also they placed a hold on a check from another financial institution, no reason to do that. It takes less than 10 days for a check to clear. This place is owned by the members, I doubt it . Crypto currency transactions settle in minutes.

If I could leave 0 stars I would!! I had an auto loan through TELCO, well I wrecked my car and had to get another one which they gave me a finance rate of almost 8.5% !! This is with dang near PERFECT credit. Well the woman said it was due to my other auto loan and I could call back in a few months and have it refinanced. Well of course we call and try to refinance LIKE SHE SAID and they use the excuse "we aren't refinancing due to covid" LIKE WHAT?!?!? Fast forward to recently I got a new car and they called to get the pay off and everything with the new company went SOO much smoother, well they had my car payment on auto draft and so of course it drafted but they insured me that I would receive it back, of course I didn't then when I called they said they issues $26 to a savings account there that I don't even use?? Why!??! I asked why it was $26 and not the full amount she says "due to the payoff" how is this so? How do they add amount to a pay off on a loan that was OVERPAID??!?! Makes no sense... all I can say is RUNNNN --- DO NOT USE THIS this place to finance ANYTHING!!

So I sat on hold from 430 until 5pm and that’s when they close. I really think this is a joke.I will be removing all my money from this location I had a family emergency and I couldn’t even get access to my account. I can’t believe this place.

I had a auto loan with what use to Be SC Telco. Great customer service, never on hold on the phone for more that 10 mins. Great service. Made my payments on time. Paid my auto loan off and got a personal loan through them. Been making on time payments, but come November of this year I went to the ONLY Columbia location to make a payment and the Facility was CLOSED. Closed in the middle of the week. (Which made my payment late) No sign on the doors or windos of the drive thru, no email sent out to member stating they were closed. I live well over an hour from the closest location so I can't come when ever I please. Found out they switched names to another financial institution and when tried to call to make the payment over the phone, I was on hold for well over 30mins. The lady who took my payment over the phone was nice, but then put me on hold for an additional 10 mins, bc I asked a question she couldn't answer. Loan will soon be paid and will never do business with this institution again!

Taylor at Pulaski St. branch is one of the best tellers I have ever gotten the pleasure to know. Always a smiling face and wonderful service! Highly recommend anyone visit this branch and see for yourself! Give her a RAISE $$!!
