This is my go to place for van rental even though it’s not the closest location for me. The staff is professional, helpful and reliable and their vans are always clean and ready to go.

Terrible experience. Pay structure was misrepresented and I was charged nearly $100 extra for mileage that I was told point blank that I would not be. One star because the truck didn't break down (this time).

"Reserved" a unit online, then showed up in person to check out the unit to make sure it would work out and that I'd be able to move in the next week. Nothing was mentioned at the time that the "reservation" did not guarantee me the unit. Showed up again 4 days later to and they'd rented out the unit I reserved to another customer with no notification to me. Luckily I showed up a few days before I actually had all of my things and was able to rent from a different company. If you're going to pull these kinds of shenanigans, please at least make it clear to the customer what the policies are.

Worst experience ever please do not go hear the black man behind the counter will tell you you will get your deposit back and you will not get your deposit back I paid 160 for a deposit and they offered me $40 back when I brought it back three hours after I rented it and also the tank of gas was for the black guy seemingly trying to steal my money and it’s still taking U-Haul a month to refund me my deposit do not go here at all

The General Manager is so rude and not friendly. I PCS moved from Alaska all the way here to Ft Jackson, SC. I towed a 5×8 Trailer and chose this place for storage. Wanting to use the one-way 30 day free storage at U-hual. But she keeps denying it saying that im not eligible for it. I called all the the other U-hual they offered me the 30 day free storage except this one for some reason.

They don’t honor the first month free unless the Manger is there. Customer service is terrible very rude and nasty. I wouldn’t recommend this location unless your desperate to move.

Please be careful renting a storage unit here. If you rent a U-Haul you will receive an email about one month free rental on a storage unit. The problem is they never really honor that. I was told I got the first month free and I had to pay 2 months in advance. So in April 2022 I did pay the two months in advance however I'm being told rent is due and no one will call me to resolve my conflict with one month free. Honestly it just seems that they're trying to get you to rent from there but they don't honor what they say. Integrity is important for business!

This location does not have 24/7 pickup even though it says it does on Uhaul website. After I turned the truck in I received an additional fuel charge even though I filled the truck up to the correct fuel. Truck didn’t have AC and inside was dirty. I imagine all Uhaul places are like this nowadays.

Try to rent a U-Haul when we purchase new furniture to get rid of our old furniture. The people at the U-Haul please try to tell me it would cost me $89 after they had advertised 19. The phone call I made said 19. I get there. The little lady said for a 4-hour rental I owed almost $90. I was like forget this. I'll find somebody who owns a truck. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. T The crazy thing is I rented that pickup truck 5 years ago and I sure as hell didn't pay that much money because I'm a cheapskate and I know how much money I paid. Probably has something to do with the gas prices now even though they make you feel it back up. Be wary people

After being rerouted 3 times, I was able to lease a 15’ Uhaul. I worked with Nathaniel Brown. He was easy to work with when picking up the truck. I dropped the truck off and he told he would close it out in about 30 minutes. From my pickup experience I was not concerned. Boy was I wrong. I was charge for extra gas, which I took a picture of showing the proper amount was put in. He charged me for 2 dollies. Only had 1. And changed the coverage from $28 to $42. In total he over charged me by approximately $50. Renter beware! I personally will not be using Uhaul again!!

I have been coming over here since June. This is the closest one to my current residence, but every time I come there is a sign saying they are out on the property and to call the number. I called the number and it goes straight to voicemail every single time. Don't put an open sign up if you are not open. It is very inconvenient and unprofessional to give a customer instructions to get service and no one is available still....unacceptable!!!!!!

The card they gave us to leave the gate doesn't work and the after hours emergency number goes to some random guy that doesn't work for uhaul. So after driving 12 hours paying over 120 for a storage unit, we are stuck inside and can't get out.

Absolutely disgusting...I made a reservation at 9:30 am and arrived on time at 1:30 pm at Forest Drive Uhaul in Columbia, SC. only to find 3 lazy employees behind the desk who informed me they don't have the key to the back of my truck?? Then the only female of the 3 employees decided she didn't like my me questioning her work performance, when I asked "Don't you think y'all could have figured that out within the 4 hours between the time I made my appointment till the time I got here, but instead y'all are ALL sitting there with nothing to do?" This female employee then physically lunges at me as if she's going to strike or jump on me, all while she's using profanity calling me a "******* b****** One of the male employees held her back, and encouraged her to compose herself and go to the back of the office. I immediately got on the phone with the police because, me, being alone and a white female in the presence of three young black people In a business establishment being ran with no supervision, was looking like a really bad setup for the next story on the national 6:00 news report. Me getting on the phone with the police scared the young lady into having more self control, but she continued to act out, as she the began to say things like "I done had the cops called on me 3x times and they ain't take me to jail". I let the cop know I'd like to press charges and would like to pull the video showing her attempting to physically assault me. At that point, we had unloaded our storage facility and had our belongings outside, but had no truck. "I" the customer was made to go to the next Uhaul dealer to get my own truck for the move, which took a good hour of my time - in July in - SC, where it was over 100 with the heat index. The fact that I had 3 of my teenage children and my husband out in this heat enduring this circus of a trip to get our belongings out of storage, and by this time we were all exhausted, not to mention, still had a whole day ahead of us of moving plans, I decided I did not have to time stay to make a police report. I decided as well that if this young lady has indeed had the cops called on her three times and is still employed by Uhaul, this isn't my problem, it's theirs. These 3 young people's laziness and unprofessional work performance turned our whole day of moving plans upside down. I left the facility after cleaning out the storage rental of my belongings and I vow to NEVER, EVER, use Uhaul again. Your company today rated way below any service we'd expect to get at any business. I now have 2 rental truck charges that are processing on my bank account, I wound up paying more for my rental because it was further away, the process took twice as long as it should have, and I barely got through the whole experience without getting beat up or murdered by your deranged employee. Uhaul is obviously "okay" with it's business being ran by a bunch of unprofessional young people who's life goals are to be the star on The Jerry Springer Show, however - your business is by far "not okay" in my book. This will go down as one of the top "bad experiences" ever in my life. Yes, I've reported this to corporate, and what they decide to do with it is none of my concern, Uhaul has wasted enough of my time and caused enough emotional distress to me- I'm done. I left this review in hopes of saving another person from dealing with such an incompetent bunch of circus clowns! Steer clear of Uhaul, but if you must use them, "especially" steer clear of this facility!

I really wish I could give this place ZERO stars. I came in for a 5x10 storage unit. The manager Tawana was the person assisting me. While she was taking my personal information she kept repeating it aloud for validation. She asked me for my employers information which was completely odd, and I refused to give it to her. Moments into the transaction, I realized that someone was on her cell phone on FaceTime. I stopped and asked her if she had she one on the phone while she was repeating my personal information. At first she didn’t answer then said it was a business call. I then when onto asked her could she end the call while I’m disclosing my personal information and doing business. She rolled her eyes and handed back my license and said I could take my business else where since I feel violated. I then went onto say that’s not the appropriate way to do business. I called customer service and they made me a reservation at the site and persistently denied my business. This was bad business, but I believe it was a blessing in disguise on my end. Please people be mindful of fraud.
