They need to teach their cashiers about customer service. The two associates were talking and did not greet me at the register, didn’t tell me my total or anything. Just hand me my receipt and kept talking. They hire these young folks that don’t care about courtesy and this isn’t the first time this has happened.

Horrible atmosphere ran by very emotional women that seem to hate men. Seems like the trend these days. When i worked there the manager named taiwan or whatever told me to my face that i was the last person she wanted to hire. I wouldnt work for this company again if it was the last one on earth!! I strongly advise men specifically not to wrk here!!

This Dollar General (285 Old Camden Hwy, Dalzell SC 29040) and its employees have the absolute worst customer service that I never ever want to experience again (beginning and ending with the manager Courtney)! Several days ago (June 23), I went into the store with my two-year-old grandson. While shopping with him (he's sitting in the top part of the cart) I placed several packs of water balloons in the bottom of the cart and proceeded to go into another isle when I heard someone yell "you gonna pick that up?" I looked around to see what was going on when I noticed that it was the manager Courtney looking directly at me along with two of the cashiers. I asked her if she was speaking to me? She said 'yeah! Are you gonna pick that up?" not sure what she was talking about I looked around me and noticed that some of the balloons had fallen out of the cart onto the floor. Normally, if I drop anything inside an establishment, I pick it up and place it back on the shelves. In this case however, the managers approach was hostile, demeaning, nasty and rude. I looked down and noticed that one of the balloon packages was on the floor next to the cart- I picked it up and put it back into my cart. As I began to walk away Courtney again yelled towards me saying "you gonna pick those up?" Not knowing what she was talking about, I looked towards the beginning of the aisle and noticed that some of the balloons were on the floor and that there was a trail leading from the isle that the balloons came from to the one where I currently was at (three isles down). At this point I was not going to stoop down and go from isle to isle picking balloons off the floor from a product that was obviously damaged and which I had no part in damaging/opening. Trying to be a good customer (although I nor my grandson had opened the package) I said, 'I will just go ahead and pay for them!" The manager said "No, you need to pick those up!" It was at this point that I realized that she was purposefully being nasty and rude to me. I was in disbelief that I was even asked to do this (what did she expect me to do with loose balloons that were on all over the dirty floor?) and in such a disrespectful and challenging manner as she and her two employees looked down on me. I then began to walk away and again she said, "you need to pick those up!" I told her I'm not picking those balloons up off the floor because the bag was already opened and damaged. Her response, "well you can leave the store then!" I told her that this was not her store and that I was not leaving." She then said, "this is my store, and you are leaving!" Meantime, she begins to get personal with me and states something that only her and the employees could hear while looking at me in a very uncomfortable and demeaning manner--This is when her employee (Tianna) begins to openly laugh at me. I asked her for her name, and she was more than happy to provide it to me along with offering to give me her district managers name and phone number. At this point, my grandson was crying and scared, I didn't see any point in going back and forth with someone who was so openly disrespectful and loud and didn't care how she was treating a customer in front of not only a child but other customers as well. I removed my grandson out of the cart and left the store. As I was leaving, the manager, Courtney followed me and said 'um-hum, you can just leave!" Unfortunately, this is not the first time that I have had a bad experience in this Dollar General Store. Last year (2021), I grabbed my bags to leave (not aware that some of the empty bags were attached) when Courtney said to me 'give me those back!" before I realized that the bags were attached to my bags, she reached over and snatched them. I have since reached out to the District Manager Mr. Roberts, filed a complaint and to date, I have not received a call back. I really do not expect to since, this Courtney very comfortably volunteered his
