I made a special trip down from western Virginia, to my home town of Easley South Carolina today , to meet with Mr Russell Patterson to get help on setting up my business taxes.I chose the Patterson firm because my family has a long time association with the company and trusted their work. I had an experience with Mr Patterson this past summer that was positive however I have yet to see the refunds ( which was part of my purpose of meeting as well).I got up early to make it to a 7:15 AM meeting and I was met with a “ we don’t have a record of you “. .I fill out the intake forms again.I am ushered down the long hallway that dead ends at Mr Patterson’s office. I state my purpose to Mr Patterson. Who appears instantly angry and agitated. He tells me “ mam you are taking up vital tax preparation time. This is inappropriate use of this time!”I made this appointment last week and was not informed about what was considered inappropriate use of Mr Patterson’s time. I was also called and reminded of my appointment yesterday and no one shared with me what would be considered appropriate use of Mr Patterson’s time.As a single woman , I get quite often, less than equal treatment from white, middle to upper class men. However, I was not prepared for the rudeness and rage I felt from this long standing, family, accountant.I left mortified, in tears, walked back down the hall of shame and out the building. I have shared my experience with my family, we are all pretty surprised about the whole thing.I hope this review is helpful to someone.

Russell prepared my taxes, but put the wrong address, did not attach my W2, and led Indiana state to believe that I did not pay any state tax.A tax warrant has been set now, even though I contacted Patterson many times over the course of 3 years. Their reply, 'its' a scam, don't worry'.My bank accounts were seized, and a penalty of $13,000 was instated. Patterson's reply, 'you did something wrong then'. Without my banks, it makes it near impossible to pay mortgage, car, and credit car payments.I paid a Indiana CPA to help me file ammended returns. He was amazed with the many incorect issues. A initial cost of $1,00 paid by myself, as Patterson Tax refused to admit to any wrong doing.Today, the Indiana Department of Revenue stated that a civil case needs to be filed on Patterson Tax for gross negligence.

Patterson Tax Service has been professional and accommodating in helping us with our taxes and any questions we have had setting up our LLC. We feel that they listen to our needs and go out of their way to make sure everything is correct! They are organized and we trust them completely with our personal and business needs. We don’t know what we would do without them. Don’t go anywhere else, they can’t be beat!

They have not followed through on contacting the IRS to confirm I did pay the taxes. Visited twice and left voicemails and a email before they finally called back and said they would take care of it.

The lady at the front desk is the rudest lady ever will not let me speak to someone in charge i have been waiting for my return for 4 months now and nothing the number the irs sent me dosent work either i need to speak to someone
