They lock their doors at 10:35 even though they’re open until 11:00. What a disappointment. Also, I love the employees that just stand upfront with their face glued to their phones that refuse to acknowledge you. Even after you tell them to have a good night. Great customer service.

This grocery store is good for quick runs but not for regular grocery shopping. The products aren't the best. I bought asparagus that was spoiled. Little Debbie cakes that I didn't realize expired the next day (No, they weren't on clearance) and fruit that was sour.The sales are also difficult to understand. Today, I picked up a spiral ham. The tag said $28 but sale price $17 with MVP card. At the register, I was told that the sale price wasn't accurate and I had to spend $35 before I could buy the ham at that price. It feels like that information should have been on the tag. In my opinion, it's deceptive.I'm not a fan of this grocery store.

Very helpful associates in deli for special events. Put together meat & cheese trays that added to a successful gathering for reasonable pricing. Very nice display.

Good customer service I'm late shopper due to my busy schedule and routinely walk in with 5-10 mins to close; they never rush me out and are very friendly the entire time. Big fan of the nature's promise organics which fit nicely into my nutritional needs.

This place is great for a grocery store. It has a decent variety for being on the lower end of grocery stores. The prices are more than fair, especially with a rewards account. Traffic can be annoying due to the high volume this place gets.

Food lion has a good selection but lacks good customer service.Forcing us to use the self service option. I prefer humans.

Glad to have food lion as our main grocery store in Elgin. Always have what we need and I love the self checkout option. The only negative I have to say about it is the parking lot usually seems to be very congested and it's usually difficult to park and pull out of a spot. People just walk in front of you and don't care and other cars don't care either. I recommend going early or late to avoid the crowds.

I was using self checkout when this older lady who, I guess, watched over it treated this younger woman very passive aggressively. Idk what her problem was, but I'm definitely not shopping here again.

Food Lion in Elgin always sucks because it's always jam-packed. There is not enough handicap spaces! But I will say most of the employees are so nice and helpful ?

Very unhappy with the lack of professionalism out of management. I got 4 Stouffers Speg & Meatballs that were bad. I called Stouffers to ask if recipe had changed because meatballs tasted different. Nestle / Stouffers said no and then made it right by sending 4 coupons for a free replacement for each of my prior purchases. When I went up to redeem, I was told I was not allowed to redeem more than one at a time because it was considered "stacking coupons". Manager came over, after 4 other's who did not know how to handle, and was nothing but a rude mouthpiece, who attempted no solution except scanning the coupon and claiming they couldn't be used. Are you kidding me? These are direct from the product manufacturer and have a spot to write in the amount for each item (just like a WIC coupon) and zero it out (per Nestle). Management should know how to handle these type scenarios and didn't even attempt a different solution, which I consider worthless customer service. Issue has been reported to headquarters and Stouffers as well and I will be calling district manager. I called back store to inquire further and another associate stated I simply had to ring each product separately, which is fine and I can do that, but that was not told in line during the hullabaloo / fiasco. It would have been very easy to just tell us that. Instead, we got smartmouth from manager. Associate said manager's name is Isaac Smalls.

Friendly staff. They have self checkout and also lanes open. They have no problem whatsoever opening another checkout either if needed.

This store always has very limited supply. There are never enough cashiers working.
