groomer would/could not wash a timid dog for the second time.. he wouldn't get in the tub.. i traveled 30 miles for a grooming appt for the second time for nothing..

We spend a great deal of money in a year’s time with 3 dogs and 1 cat . It irritates me that as much money as people spend in petco in today’s economy that they charge 10cents a bag to put the products in you jut bought from them. I don’t shop at grocery stores that makes you buy bags and I’m not going to shop anymore at a pet store that does. Where does corporate come up with these ridiculous ideas to make customers pay a little more.

Ive spent a LOT of $ in Florence store and online, (I travel so I’ve visited Columbia and Sumter SC( awesome store) and they don’t even look like belong to same company as Florence store, they are clean, friendly and helpful…) whoever manager of Sumter store is, knows the way a store should look and operate, staff interacted with, helpful, nice and knowledgeable.Today my absolute LAST visit ever to the florence store… They need to do an employee house cleaning job, because the employees are hurting this location! Since found out No store manager things have gotten even worse than before…the store is maned by floor employees, Darlene and blond training person ( exception the stocking staff) that have bad attitudes, not friendly, no help and never see approach customer “ unless you happened to run head on into them, never “can I help you” instead you have to chase them down… even made 2 trips today, wanted item there was no label/price on live animal item, told the person over that area stepped out of store, before had chance to speak directly so other employee there I told them , ok I’ll run some errands then stop back by to get price for item and pick up. I stop back by 1.5 hr later and question an employee Darlene, said had no idea, I asked if she could find out my second trip by the store, she goes to back to ? Aquatic manager and then reappears , asked her did she get info I had requested about an item, she said “I can’t ask employee a question while on lunch break in back… “ really” after I made effort to make second trip by for the item and this is what I’m told you can’t ask a simple ? After I made effort to visit a second time to allow time to get that info?????This place has become a joke!!!!Not to mention the marine area lights off most of time and algae ridden would be afraid to buy anything there…Forward going to petsmart and if they don’t have order online..The absolute worst store not to mention nasty,

2nd time in the store. We won’t be back. First time the girl told us to get the wrong item for our dog. I did not return the item. I donated it. I just thought she wasn’t great at her job. Fast forward 6 months. We have a new puppy. We ordered the male belly bands, but they were going to be a few days getting to us. My husband and make a quick run to this store. 4 employees standing at the checkout talking. We asked if they could tell us where the belly bands were and the girl (same girl from before -,shorter white female, heavyset with glasses) said she had never heard of these and they didn’t carry them. My husband looked at me funny and headed straight to them. He figured they would be with the diapers. Not one of the employees asked if they could help us or try to figure out what we needed. There was 1 girl with a huge cart working in the back stocking. No one helping her. The rest were talking. We got what we needed and went to check out. I held up the wrap and said “belly bands”. The girl looks at her coworker as if we are crazy. I quickly said that I wasn’t trying to correct her, just letting her know in case another customer was looking for them. She would only smirk and shoot looks to her coworkers as if we were crazy. She said she had never heard if that before. The girl ringing us up asked if we wanted a store card. We politely said no since we will not be back. $35 for a bag of 10 xs belly bands and 1 tiny bang of treats. We got them cheaper at Pet Smart and Amazon. And, we got reusable ones that can be washed. Customer service is no where to be found in this store. Literally everyone from our Vet, to friends, Pet Smart and even google knows what a puppy belly band is. I can understand if she didn’t know, but to be so incredibly rude about it was unacceptable. From the only two visits I have had she acts like she is the expert on pet supplies which is laughable. Way too many people working in a tiny store standing around doing nothing but talking. If they charge for bags like they did, it is ridiculous. I watched a woman unload all the bags from their container outside the store last visit. It took her a while to get them all in her car. I told the young girl who looked at the woman and then shrugged her shoulders and did nothing.

The service/grooming time for my fur baby was quick. 45 min total for a bath and full cut, impressive.I didn't even have time to take myself to lunch..lol

If you have owned fish before and already have a tank, I would NOT recommend going here for fish! One of the employees was giving me the third degree when I was trying to buy fish for 2 of my established fish tanks. She insisted I needed to bring my tank water in for testing, and I live an hour away. After about 5 times saying so, I can not buy fish here? She finally told me I could buy fish, but it wasn't recommended until I could bring in a water sample. She finally allowed me to show her which fish I wanted to purchase. It was a very weird and ridiculous process for a few fish, especially since I've had aquariums for 20 years. Also, I have always put 1 beta fish in with my aggressive natured fish and they've always been fine when she over heard me tell my son he could do the same for his tank she refused to sell me any fish but the beta for his tank. Also, their fish selection was AWFUL plus overpriced. I also bought a HUGE puppy pads which were horrible. The box says it holds 2 cups of liquid, but they do not. Besides those experiences I'd recommend shopping here ????. I honestly won't be going back it was too big of a hassle! Guess what? After over a week, my fish are still alive! Go figure! ?

Beware no refund or credit for marine animals!!!!This place should be fined for the inhumane treatment of their marine animals. Salinity measured 1.045, it should be 1.025. Of course I didn’t know this until I got home. Needless to say the fish died. Went to the store, ridiculous. Someone please open a decent fish store in Florence !!!

I enjoy this store they have what I need. But last week I went to get some super worms for my bearded dragon I bought two 50cts and got home and one container all the worms were dead. At $9 and with gas prices I wasn't driving a hour back to take it back. The other thing I had an issue with one of the workers which I have never had there they all have always been friendly but this older white lady wasn't friendly. She was stocking and running the checkout but it wasn't busy but while she was checking me out I told her my number had changed and she totally ignored me about that and when the UPS guy come in she snapped him up and told him all shipments need to come through the front because they were working in the back area it was the way she spoke that made it not feel friendly anymore. Then she asked me do I want a receipt I said yes please and then you could tell it got all over her because then she had to put paper in the machine then it took a little bit so I tried to make conversation with her but she wasn't having it. See its things like that make me switch back to petsmart and not go to petco. I have never had this happen at this location they have always been friendly but this lady she is not friendly at all.
