Would give zero stars if possible. Terrible communication in all regards! They turn off debit cards after inactivity of just a few months, alerts setup never actually push to my phone, and monthly statements aren't even emailed out; you have to go looking for them within their poorly setup website or app. Can't even get purchase alerts to work. Lastly their website only works on Chrome. They need a better IT department and fast! At this particular branch, good luck finding anyone who actually wants to HELP the customer. They all are robots. Just terrible customer service company and glad I closed all accounts when I did.

Founders CU has the worst customer service, especially at the Gold Hill location! I opened a CD 12/8/22, and it came to maturity 12/8/23. Did Founders send me an alert, text, email of any kind to let me know it matured? NO. Instead, they roll it back over into another 12-month CD at the same low, crappy rate and hope I don't notice? Then when I do notice, I have to go INTO a branch to say close the CD. Why can't this be done over the phone? Next, I want to move the money out of Founders back to the original credit union where the money came from 12 months ago and am told a wire fee is $15. WHAT???? It didn't cost me anything to transfer the original money to Founders! Then, when I say just do an external transfer, the branch manager tells me there is a max limit of $2500 per month. WHAT???? So, over the next few days, I'll be looking to close ALL of my accounts with Founders, finding another institution who values my money and my time. Buyer Beware; There has to be better than this in the Fort Mill area!!!

The service in the building is fine though there is usually a bit of a wait. My low rating is for the reliability of the debit card and other online bank transactions. My sons have tried to use their debit card in several places around town and they just do not work. They have come in several times and had things reset and it still does not resolve it reliably. I have also had payments to the bank not go through and had to route them to other accounts. The app works fine and never had a problem with checks but the other issues are a problem since you expect a debit card to work 100% of the time and for deposits to go through 100% of the time.

They are very bad. If anything happens to you or your family they will take everything from you and leave you in the dust. They do not care.

This bank will lose your car titleI paid my car loan in full on July 2022 I was told that I was going to receive the title by mail in 10 to 15 business days, I’m going on 2 months now and I have yet to receive anything. I have called and I have gone to this location in person to ask what is going on and all I get is that I have to go to the DMV and PAY for a DUPLICATE title. What I don’t understand is why I have to spend my time and more money to go to the DMV and get a DUPLICATE title not even the original title that this bank is supposed to send me, if I understood correctly by our contract this bank was supposed to send me my original title but I’m being told to go get a duplicate and pay more money. Worst bank to do loans with.

They have always been nice, helpful and professional with me at this branch. Although, this branch isn't diversified they have never treated me different or unprofessional like the branches in Columbia and the customer service line,,,,,just horrible. The branches and the customer service line need more diversity.

Was going to open an account with them, first time inside this building. I don't know how things work. I stand around until two ladies passed by me and didn't payed attention to me. Then I sit down and wait for about 15 minutes. Then someone comes in and goes to a banker and she asks him did you sign in on the computer? He says no I don't know about that. At least someone should ask people that seem like they don't know what they're doing if they need help. Also can't bankers see who signs in?

Slowest Founders I have ever been to. Been in line outside going on 30 minutes and the line has moved maybe one car while the other line is steadily moving but I'm now locked in and cannot get out. I dont understand why were not being helped and our line has been at a standstill and the AC in my car is no longer even cold. It's nearly 100 degrees. The other line has been moving but the 2nd line whoever's is inside needs to retrain or figure out what the hell they're doing and maybe even gain some common sense. I'll never be back to the founders on Gold Hill Rd. I'll drive out of my way to go somewhere else.

My husband passed away on November 5th 2018. My husband had been a customer for years, he loved Founders Credit Union. His monthly Social Security deposit went into his account account on November 14th. This was his October payment. Anyone 62 or older receiving SS payments knows that SS pays a month behind. Because my husband lived the entire month of October he was entitle to this payment deposited on November 14th. Founders Credit Union Probate Mitigation Specialist tells me that they have to send this money back to Social Security. I have bills to to pay and going through Probate. Founders Credit Union refuses to close my husband account and give him me the refund in his account. Why would I return money to Social Security that is not theirs? I too receives SS and reported my Husband death on November 15th to Social Security Adm, and went in for a face to face interview. In-addition, I have already started receiving my husband 's benefits. Anything money that I owed would have decreased my benefits.( get a clue Founders) If you bank with Founders Credit Union Social Security recipients, these folk don't understand Social Security rules and will hold your money for lack of qualified people working there who don't know Social Security rules. I just want my money and closure of the account.

I had heard good things from others who bank here and decided to stop by one afternoon and open an account at this location. Have to say that the two staff members I dealt with were very slow and unprofessional. There was hardly anyone there at the time I went and they had me wait almost 40 minutes before being seen. The first teller I spoke to seemed a bit annoyed with my questions about opening an account. Should have taken that as a precursor to what was to come. This bank hires a lot of clueless individuals. I have called and stopped by several times to ask questions or get some information and every time I am told to just go to the website. Why even have branches if you expect everyone to go online for everything? Will be looking for another credit union soon.
