Magical. Delightful. An oasis of warmth and community around a shared love of literature. I just discovered this treasure today and I highly recommend avid readers, collectors, adventurers, and eccentrics to stop in for an unforgettable experience.

Absolutely amazing bookstore with all kinds of books on all types of topics. This is the type of store you will end up buying a book more than a hundred years old, a book you'd never ever have come across otherwise. The owners are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. For any book lover who happens to be in the area, this is a must-visit.

From what I saw, Angel's is more of a rare book store than a used book store. Lots of signed copies and older books. Not organized into sections per se, but a wide variety scattered about with some clustered by author or genre. The folks were friendly overall.

We love exploring bookstores and my husband has a penchant for old books, pretty books, and first editions, specifically related to South Carolina history and by SC authors. We've visited many a Mr K's and other miscellaneous bookstores but so far, Angel's Bookshoppe is the absolute best! It doesn't look like a whole lot on the outside but they have so many wonderful books and they know something about all of them. They chatted with us for a while and mentioned that they used to just collect rare and special books with no intention of selling them, but realized they couldn't take the books with them and their children didn't want to deal with them. A little bit sad but it's a great opportunity to meet people with similar passions for books and we had a great time browsing. I believe they also take in other books as donations or they reimburse for some small amount, so not everything is from their personal collection and they have some selection of newer (but all used) books too. They have children's books in the back, some of which looked pretty neat. If you are into collecting or just need to find a new used book, this is the best place to go in Greenville (and maybe the entire state of SC). Can't recommend it enough!

It is not exaggerating to call this the best used bookstore in South Carolina. Sure, it doesn't have a fancy espresso machine, a bookstore cat, or a quaint storefront, but it has hands down the best combo of selection and prices in the state. If you can convince yourself a drive through the wasteland of cherrydale is worth it, you'll discover a huge selection of antiquarian, first edition, and otherwise rare books that you can't even find online. Angel and her husband are lifelong book collectors who decided to sell their collection instead of burden their kids with it, which is much to the public's benefit! One gem of this place is their local/state history section which has a selection that is orders of magnitude better than anything used bookstores in charleston or Columbia can offer.

What a wonderful treasure trove! Angel is a sweetheart and I had great fun chatting with her while wandering about her shop. All of my favourite kinds of books, and plenty of beautiful, rare tomes and volumes to pore over. I could easily spend the day there. A month even!I'll be back soon! ❤️

Everytime I go I feel welcomed and at home. I’ve met some amazing people here, where we can even sit down and just discuss life and various other topics. I recommend them to everyone that I know! Such a beautiful collection of new AND old books!

Angel is one of the owners and the store is named after her. Jerry is the other owner and this husband/wife team have a wealth of knowledge and experience that can help you find a book you will love. They have signed copies, first editions, and almost anything you may desire. Stop in a talk with them for a few minutes and you will feel right at home. Make sure you have some time, because you could get sucked in and visit for hours. Tell them that I sent you and they will have no clue what you mean. (It will be our joke.)

What a great place! Can't believe it's been here three years and I didn't know about it. A treasure trove of older/out of print books, collectors items, signed editions, and a really extensive local history section. They buy and trade for store credit as well!

Stopped here almost completely by accident but glad we did. This is a nice little bookshop with tons of older volumes and just a wonderful mix of all genres. Only had limited time to go through it so will definitely return when I can take my time. Owners are very nice and good to talk to.

Such a great place! While I’m not an expert collector by any means, I do love a good book and a knowledgeable person to help me find one. Lucky for me, this shop has both! I had a great experience and will certainly be back.

When I walked in, I wasn't sure what to expect. But I absolutely loved the experience. I was greeted by the sweetest lil fox terrier named Louie and his owner Daphne is the best too. I could sit in there talking for hours with her and petting that sweet lil doggy. It's definitely a place I wouldn't mind coming back to.
