I was severely lied to about the pre-shipping inspection, as I paid a nonrefundable deposit to have the car shipped from up north to here. I gave all the concerns I had and parts of the car that I was concerned about...they told me they did a full inspection and none of my concerns seemed to be an issues...when the car got here, I found some easily visible issues that I was told were not on the car. I'm guessing I was told whatever was needed for me to agree to pay the non-refundable deposit.I have had some issues with the car after the purchase and my requests or concerns really haven't seemed to be taken seriously...even though I was told that CarMax would do what they could to make it right within my 30 day period.I have taken the car to their "repair shop" but the guys there didn't even really seem interested in checking the car out for me. With me being in the automotive industry myself, I did catch a couple lines I was being fed about the car that really didn't make sense.I was told by them that the 2 missing exhaust hangers in the back were due to there being a "higher grade model than the one that I bought...and the manufacturer might add extra hanger grommets for that model because it would have a high performance muffler on it that is different than mine"....The vehicle I purchased was the highest grade model that they make....I literally just have two hangers missing due to rust...which I was told there was none on this car during that initial inspection.I was also told the car has an oil leak...when I asked them if they could look into it, I was met with resistance followed by, "man, honestly, I think it's just residue from the last oil change that was done on the car". I'm not sure who spills oil all over the oil pan when doing an oil change....but the shop seriously didn't even want to take a second look at it when I asked.I am going to have my mechanic inspect the car and see what his report comes back with. But I'm really starting to think I should've listened to all of the warnings I got from people about buying a car from here.UPDATE:Corporate reaching out and scheduled me to bring the car back so they could assess the vehicle.Upon arrival, the local branch could not find my appointment. I was told that corporate scheduled it but didn't confirm it with anyone at the local office. They were able to take the car anyways and get me straight into a rental that was not comparable to the vehicle I dropped off but when I commented about it, they were willing to swap me out if needed, but I made it work.Upon the inspection they found a bunch of oil leaks from different parts of the engine. During our phone discussion, I was told about all of the repairs that would be done and they would have to pull the engine to perform the repairs, which I was ok with. I was also told that they were going to replace my struts, shocks, and swaybar endlinks while they had it due to significant rust, that I was told the car didn't have when I paid to have the car shipped here. The repairs took about 3 weeks. When I got the car back the engine was all cleaned up with no sign of oil residue but the interior of my car had feet prints all in it and my red leather seats had white smudges and markings all over them that I know it didn't have when I dropped it off.I also noticed that not a single part of my suspension was addressed as I was told it would be. I have called and left voicemails with not a single return call, and this was about 3 weeks ago. This is not how business should be handled especially for the amount of money that was paid for this car.

I paid to have a vehicle transferred for me to test drive with the intentions of purchasing. When I got to the store, first time ever at a carmax, will be the last time as well. I was told where the vehicle was and that I could go check it out while I waited for a sales person. When the sales person came out I was able to unlock the vehicle and noticed a large puddle of water in the trunk, in the middle of the trunk, no where else. I test drove the vehicle and was told they would do a leak test on the vehicle. They did the test and I was told that upon opening the trunk it’s normal for them to leak water. As I stood there in shock, I said you’re kidding me, right, no, I was told all cars leak water when you open the trunks. I said, no they don’t!!

Had a great experience purchasing my new car at Carmax. Domingo, my Salesperson was very nice. He explained everything to me including the max care, their extended service plan. I bought many cars in my life, but Domingo my sales representative stands out the most. I will definitely be contacting him for my next car purchase for my business again, I can’t stress the fact how he’s made this experience easy and straightforward. I highly recommend when you go to this Carmax to ask for Domingo!! he actually cares about the customer and not just about the sale.

Very disappointing customer experience on my first visit to Carmax. I reserved online a car to test drive and spent an hour with an agent on site filling all paperwork but when it came to my test drive, he came back to tell me that the car battery is dead. Then he let me fill paperwork for another car but when we went to the second car, it's battery was also dead!!! I hope they can compensate me for my wasted time??

It was a long process, none of which was Carmax’s fault. Everyone I worked with was awesome. Alex was A+++++++!

Everything was professional and efficient. I got competitive bids, and while some were equal to yours, none beat yours and I just felt that the whole process would be handled well because that is what you do.

I bought my car a year ago and was told it was in a minor accident. I recently found out that was a lie. I got the Carfax report showing something different. I'm now stuck with a vehicle I would not have purchased if given the truth.

It had been atleast 20+ years since I had purchased a car. It was time to get a newer car, and I had to go by myself to start the process. I had made a pre-buy visit, and Jeanette was very helpful with aligning my budget with several cars to choose from. A week later, I was ready to buy, and Jeanette hooked me up with the ever so awesome salesman named Ben. Ben was so informative, and explained everything about the buying process, products, and warranty information. He was extremely patient, and answered all of my questions. Even after I bought the car, he was extremely helpful with getting my car in perfect condition. So far - so good with my new car!! I am extremely impressed with CarMax, and am extremely happy that I chose to buy my car at CarMax. Ben and Jeanette are an awesome sales duo, and I would send anyone to CarMax, to ask for them. Thanks again! I give CarMax 5 twinking stars. ?????

Overall, it was a good experience. They push hard to sell their extended warranty, which is annoying. But they also try hard to make sure that you love the car you get.

Second vehicle I have purchased from car max. They are not the cheapest place in town but they can be trusted. I will buy more from them in the future I'm sure

I would 100% leave zero stars if I could. Service was extremely unprofessional, Elijah was the worst to the point of making smart innuendos behind my back which my teenagers happen to see. We made an appointment to which we waited, only to find out they couldn't find the car we wanted to test drive. Turns out, the reason they couldn't find it was because someone was test driving already. They would have known that if they would have had the car ready to be test drove before he called me back for my "appointment" which they knew we were interested in. Elijah was rude from the start. The experience was chaotic, stressful, and full of incompetence. To top it off, the prices are wayyy over their value.
