This management company doubles billed my account and then refused to remove all the incorrect charges. Then went ahead and evicted me for a 300 balance owed (that was not rent) and stated on court documents that I refused to pay rent . No communication from anyone at this office. Better off away from this company, I never had an issue anywhere else.

There’s a reason why the only 5 star reviews are from NHE’s employees who have likely been incentivized. NHE manages their properties without professionalism and void of any regard for their tenants. They have had a sheriff come out and serve most of the tenants at Azalea Place Apartments with eviction notices when they bought the property. Come to find it was just a scare tactic to get everyone to sign a new lease because they apparently “lost all their files.” They have served nothing but bologna since Day 1. Beware and avoid at all costs.

I am a single mom who has been struggling with numerous issues under the management of NHE. My experience with this company has been marked by incompetence, lack of professionalism, and a blatant disregard for the well-being of tenants. One of the most distressing aspects of my experience is the consistent inability to reach the NHE office or receive a callback. As a concerned tenant, I've faced numerous challenges trying to address urgent matters related to the condition of my apartment. The lack of responsiveness has left me feeling neglected and frustrated, especially when dealing with pressing issues that affect the health and safety of my family.Furthermore, NHE's refusal to address mold concerns within my apartment is deeply concerning. Mold poses a serious health risk, particularly to young children, and the management's neglect in testing or removing it demonstrates a shocking lack of responsibility. I find it unacceptable that the well-being of tenants is seemingly not a priority for NHE.Adding to the list of grievances is the ongoing dysfunctionality of their online rent portal. As a single mom with a busy schedule, the ability to conveniently correspond with the management, pay rent, and submit maintenance requests online is crucial. Unfortunately, NHE's neglect in resolving issues with their online portal has left me unable to fulfill these basic responsibilities, causing unnecessary stress and inconvenience. It is disheartening to experience such a lack of care and professionalism from a property management company, especially when my family's well-being is at stake. I urge potential tenants to consider these serious shortcomings before choosing NHE as their property management company.Overall, my experience with NHE has been nothing short of disappointing, and I hope that by sharing my story, others can make informed decisions about their living arrangements.

I would like to know how to get in contact with someone! Seems impossible. My family has been without power for 3 days at one of the locations with no help from the apartment complex nor them! Real nice with 2 small children right before Christmas! Having to eat out because they lost all there food! Still can’t find anyone to give answers as to when the situation will be fixed

I have worked closely with the management of NHE as a vendor of HR services for years. Their leadership team is thoughtful and conscientious...always seeking to do right by their clients and employees. It's so nice to work with a team that understands that professionalism and kindness can go hand in hand.

NHE is the property management company for my community in Mauldin, SC. When I first purchased my home in June 2021 the community was well run and NHE was responsive to emails and owner concerns. Then a few months afterwards they switched our POC to someone named Allison Kirtz and every single email goes ignored. It is the most unprofessional thing that I have ever encountered. As someone who has spent the past 18 years working in Customer Service, Sales, and Business Development, I can't imagine a scenario where I would allow one of my employees to treat a customer with such disrespect.Email communication is completely one sided. Allison will send out the occasional email blast once every few months, yet when you try to reach her, you don't get a response. It has gotten to the point where in order to communicate with someone from NHE, I will start CC'ing every single NHE email address I can find, including copying our former POC.What's worse is that all the while things there are issues that are being neglected that adversely impact our community. At this point, I don't understand what the hell we are paying Management Fees for, since NHE is doing absolutely nothing to uphold HOA covenant rules or ensure that the services that we are paying for are actually being executed. E.g. a Security Patrol that hasn't shown up once this year or a towing company that is supposed to remove cars that have been abandoned or illegally parked in the community. It's become every homeowner's worst nightmare. You buy into a community, thinking it is a nice place to live, that is well managed, but you slowly but steadily watch the degradation of you community occur. All because the rules aren't enforced, services are not rendered, and the Management company is nowhere to be found.I can't fully express my disappointment and frustration with NHE, but if you are even CONSIDERING using them, I would steer clear.

I walked into Forest Brook townhomes in York SC sometime in June & spoke to Kenya. I explained my situation that I was on section 8 & my credit is terrible! She said with you being on section 8 you should be fine but may have to pay a higher deposit. I said I understand. She assured me I shouldn't have a problem getting in. She needed some documents so I got them & returned to find a completely different person there. Her name is Sandy Hinson. She is the regional manager. I asked about Kenya and she said she no longer works here. We are managing the property now. She had no idea who I was. She found my file & went through everything with me. I explained everything to her & she told me the same thing. You should be fine but may have to pay a higher deposit. I said that's fine. I told her I'm on a month to month lease where I am & want to give them the proper notice. I asked her can I go ahead & give them my notice? We discussed dates & getting it ready but she said we'll get you in here so go ahead. So I did!!! That was on June 23rd. I told my present landlord I'd be moving out on July 23rd. Sandy called me a few days later & asked some questions about my bank statement and my income. I told her everything. She said okay we'll need copies of your Instacart and Shipt paystubs. I wasn't sure how to get them and she said did you file taxes last year? I said no. She acted as if she didn't believe me. She then sent me an email in regards to their compliance team needing a document stating I didn't file taxes last year & my pay stubs. I got her everything she needed. She then said they need 2mths of income to verify for Shipt. I was very confused and sent her several texts and emails in regards to this and she would never respond to me. Finally I went up there & she seemed shocked. I discussed it all with her again & she told me we need to wait until August 28th to get the 2mths verification per the 3rd party compliance people. She assured me over & over throughout this process that I was under the income to be eligible for this unit & all would be well. I had already started packing & had to tell my landlord about all of this and asked to stay another month! I continued to pack & tell family and friends I was moving at the end of August but couldn't give them a for sure date because of having to wait. So August 19th I started to call, text & email Sandy to get an update & make sure things were still good to go. She never responded. I finally reached someone at the complex & again it was someone new. I didn't catch her name but she didn't know who I was either. She said you may be calling the wrong apartments. I explained once again & she said let me talk to Sandy & I'll get back to you. I didn't hear from her so I went back up there. She was pulling up from being on the grounds & said may I help you? I told her who I was & I was wondering if you spoke to Sandy? She said yes. She then asked me "your voucher is for a one bedroom right?" I said no it's for a 2 bedroom. Something just wasn't right. I told her the 28th is approaching & I want to make sure things are good to go? She was very rude. She said bring the stub on the 28th and we'll move forward. I said I will do that but I need some answers. She said you're wanting answers I can't give you! I'm so lost at this point. Later that day almost 2mths later I received a denial letter! She had just told me to bring my stub on the 28th & now I'm denied? She called me the next morning and told me I was denied! I was in tears and she said I'm sorry you feel this way and have a wonderful day! I should have known this a long time ago. I called & emailed Sandy with no response once again! I went up to the housing authority to see if they could help me. My worker who was baffled & lost as well emailed Sandy & someone else responded & said it was a credit

NHE manages the HOA for my neighborhood. When we first purchased our townhome the community was well run and the NHE was responsive to emails and addressed any issues.2 years ago we switched to a new NHE contact, Allison. Most emails now go ignored. You have to continually follow up with multiple emails to finally get a reply, which often may not even address the subject of the email. There was consistent communication from our prior NHE rep. That no longer happens. Why waste regime fees on a company who can’t even do the bare minimum of communicating with their customers?Apparently NHE had their employees leave 5 star reviews over the past few days. Lol. That’s never a good sign when your employees have to try to skew your reviews.

NHE is a great place to work. I started about 6 months ago and am so glad I made the change from prior job after 10 years. Everyone is very professional and NHE has a great team environment. I have really enjoyed being here and have gotten to know a lot of great people.

I have been with NHE for over a year, and I love it. They truly care about their employees and provide the necessary support for everyone to succeed. There is always something new to learn in property management but that is a big part of what makes the work so challenging and enjoyable. The teamwork and culture at NHE is also a big part of what makes the company so successful.

I work for NHE, and this is a great place to work. The people are so nice, and the atmosphere here is very positive. We also have great benefits and lots of holidays and PTO. The company also works hard to make sure employees feel valued, and I really appreciate that. I would highly recommend working at NHE.

This place is great! NHE is very business professional and treats their employees like family. Upper Managment loves their jobs, but moreover, they love their employees! Their management services are top-notch. Out of five stars, I give them six!
