They are the worst. Horrible people to talk to and deal with. And when you move and want your service shut off. They won't do it on weekends or holidays and then you are on a long waiting list. So for over a week the new people were running it up. And they said they the new people were on our bill but we still have to pay it ... so they let someone else be on our bill .... and their employees are rude.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Took them four additional days to terminate service for a home we no longer owned. They rescheduled the termination with no explanation. On the third reschedule, they said they could not access it because the gate was locked which was a bold faced lie. Essentially they wanted to wait until the new owners requested the gas to be turned on so they could charge a fee. Wouldn't you know it, the same day the new owners requested the gas to be turned on, they confirmed that they had finally turned it off for our account. They got four additional days of money out of us. If anyone knows of another company, please let people know.

I called to make a payment and get my account number b/c I was not home. The customer service rep named Jenna asked various questions to verify I am the person on the acct. I didn’t have a problem giving my name, phone number or security code. However, she wanted me to give her my social security number and my credit card number! Most folks will ask you for the last (4) digits of your social because that’s what is shown on their screen. I told Jenna I was not comfortable giving her my social security number due to identity thief and requested to speak with her supervisor. She then told me she would take my payment and I could wait on for the bill to come in the mail to obtain my account number. She further stated she would “try to locate” a supervisor and placed my call on hold. Needless to say I never got to speak with a supervisor and my call was ended. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this company??

Terrible. On June 30, called and placed request for gas to be turned on. They did not "have the staff" for someone to come out and turn a valve, until July 11. Absolutely ridiculous.

Horrible customer service. Piedmont natural gas loves to cut your gas off but can’t give you a time to get it turned back on.Says they are fully covered for the week but spend time to go cut gas off, at a paying customers house.

Absolute hot garbage of a company. Terrible customer service and communication. They’re happy to turn your gas off without a single notice and then won’t tell you when someone will be out to turn it back on.

Terrible communication.Having an existing residential gas line restarted - sounded like a very simple process based on conversations with the person who scheduled our service. However, once the technician came out there were extra steps that were not previously communicated. We ended up not having hot water for ~week due to the extra steps to verify. Communication needs to be improved - extremely poor experience.

Piedmont Natural Gas employee came on property without notifying us. Started barking orders and refused to identify himself. I tried to get license number but he left before I could write it down. Have a little respect for your neighbors Piedmont Natural Gas. Let us know what’s going on and knock on the door before you start your job. We may thank you for coming over and give you a bottle of water.

There's no reason why a customer should wait a week before someone comes out.

PNG is so unreliable when it comes to service calls!! They used to be okay, but since 2019, they have majorly gone downhill. A few months back, they wanted to swap our meter and said we had to be home for it. My husband took the day off of work (because they said 8-12), just for them to come out while we were out to dinner. They came out, turned off the gas, swapped the meter, and we missed work another day until they decided to come out and turn on the gas again. This week, we reported a gas leak at our meter (seems to be shotty install in their part), so they came out, turned off gas, repaired, and left. They came back to reattach gas at 8pm. It was way too cold without heat and we could not cook food, so we had to stay elsewhere. We have been waiting almost 2 days now and have missed work to stay home for the gas to be turned back on and they still have not done so. They keep saying "You're on the schedule for today, and the tech will call with an ETA". STILL NOTHING!! I have no way to heat my home, heat water, or heat food. When asking customer service for assistance, they kept telling me "we don't have answers for you". Don't work in customer service if you can't help someone! If you can avoid using PNG, I highly recommend going with literally anyone else.

Cole and Matt showed up to fix a cut in our gas line on Adulas Street in Greenville. They were both very prompt and helpful. Would recommend this company for any gas need. This was my first time dealing with a gas leak, but Cole was on top of it and made me feel comfortable after being scared for my life. Glad I got to meet them!
