I hate that this place only has old reviews because I feel their service may have improved, however this was my first experience here. I called in to have a shuttering issue when I accelerated checked out on my GL450, Alex told me he was booked out for a month however if I brought it in early morning and dropped it off he would get it diagnosed the same day. I dropped it off on a Sunday evening when he was closed & heard back Tuesday. He did a diagnoses and found I had broken engine mounts which he thought was causing the shuttering issue. He quoted me to fix and said he could have it done in couple days. It was about 40% more to go through him than 2 other places I called but the other places had 2-4 week waits and he was willing to do it in his spare time on the side so I was willing to pay it. After fixing the motor mounts it didn't actually fix the issue I was having, he suggested flushing the transmission first but again quoted me about 40% higher to work it in. I would have liked to support him and done it through him but I needed to save a little $. I got the flush done and it did fix my issue. Thank you Alex for finding an issue we didn't know existed as well as diagnosing the issue we were looking for. The car runs great and drives so smooth now!

My car wouldn't start on May 11th, I had it towed to Star Auto Care on May 17th - found out the diagnostic issue on May 20th and after waiting for ordered parts to come, I didn't get car back till first week of June! They were supposed to replace my electronic steering lock and do an A1 maintenance service on my car. I normally have my regular mechanic do my maintenance service, but since I had to get the steering lock replaced (and Alex called me to ask if I wanted them to go ahead and do the service), I said yes. July 25th, I had a Power Steering Malfunction sensor appear, then it went away. A couple weeks later, the Power Steering Malfunction AND Brake EIS Malfunction sensors both came on and stayed on for a week. I called Star Auto Care to see if these sensors coming on had anything to do with the maintenance services they provided (left a voicemail specifically for Alex to return), but no one EVER returned my call. After that, I had a sensor to tell me I needed to add oil to my car! Why? And that should have been a part of the service provided? Then, the day before yesterday, I had to add transmission fluid to my car! Which leads me to believe that they never completed the service that they requested to add! I will NEVER take my car back here again. It is not expedient service, they don't have the best customer service and you can't guarantee that they actually do the work requested.Alex is really nice when it's time to collect that money and get your car, but does not have the best customer service or attitude over the phone (I never met him in person).Services: Auto maintenance

Previously used Alex a few years back and called to ask about what’s involved in an A3 service and price and he told me I’ve never used him and he wasn’t a free information service. I will never recommend or use again. Very nasty attitude

have always used powerstar auto but needed an oil change and they were weeks out. I called Star auto and the person I spoke with told me to bring it in the next morning. Alex greeted me, I told him I was there for my scheduled oil change. He said to me that nobody there would have scheduled an oil change because they were booked. I explained to him that I called and whoever answered the phone told me to be there first thing in the morning, He became irritated and asked all his employees if they told someone to come for an oil change. He then told me I called a different shop. I pulled up my prior day's phone calls and there was his number. I ended up leaving the car for the day and when I arrived to pick it up the bill was upwards of $500.00. He took it upon himself to replace a belt, saying it was too big for the car and not even sold in the US. The bill also showed a charge for topping off windshield fluid, which I had just filled. I paid the bill and went on my way. Fast forward 4 days and I am an hour away, suddenly my battery light comes on, I lost power steering, and a message in red telling me to pull over and shut the car off immediately. I pull into a parking lot and shut the car off. I open the hood and see the newly installed belt all torn up and split in half. with no alternative, I call a tow service and have it towed the hour home and dropped at Star auto. The next morning I get a call from Alex and I explained what transpired and how the newly installed belt failed. He stated he would get back to me on pricing to replace it. I said, excuse me, your shop replaced this belt just 5 days ago. His response was "and I used to not have grey hair" which, to me meant things happen we can't control. I disagreed and said the belt had to have been improperly installed. With that, he said he was just going to put the old belt back on rather than a new one. That afternoon I went to pick up my Mercedes, Alex gave me the key and threw a 100.00 bill at me, and told me to get the belt replaced soon. It has been three weeks and no problems with the old belt. I am a reasonable person and understand things happen but the manner in which Alex addressed me is unacceptable. I will not recommend nor return to this shop for any service.
