CONSUMER BEWARE - this branch is the worstDisappointing Experience with Truist Bank - Discriminatory Practices and Poor Customer ServiceI feel compelled to share my experience with Truist Bank over the past year, as it has been nothing short of disappointing and disheartening. While I initially opened an account with Truist Bank after hearing positive things about it on social media, my actual experience with the bank left me deeply troubled and disillusioned.First and foremost, I must address the issue of dishonesty and discriminatory practices that I encountered during my time with Truist Bank. These are issues that are not commonly discussed on social media platforms, but they are crucial aspects of my experience. One of the most concerning incidents involved a bank teller at Truist Bank who applied for credit on my behalf using the wrong application related to my account. This error, caused by the bank's staff, had the potential to negatively impact my personal credit score, which was completely unacceptable. I promptly sought assistance from the bank's credit services department, where I encountered further frustration. The customer service representative (CSO) I spoke with in credit services advised me to visit the branch and request a reversal of the credit pull to prevent any harm to my FICO score. However, my interactions at the branch took a distressing turn. The branch manager, Reshia, was not only rude but also dismissive of my concerns. She went so far as to gaslight me, attempting to invalidate my legitimate request for assistance. When I asked for clarification and expressed my frustration at her dismissive attitude, Reshia informed me that she needed to consult with the CSO, Patrick BoaBo, to verify the information. This was a reasonable request on my part, but her manner of handling the situation was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. What was most disheartening was that throughout this encounter, Reshia displayed a complete lack of empathy and concern for the fact that I was sharing a genuine problem. Instead of addressing the issue constructively, she opted to close my accounts without hesitation, as if it were a matter of indifference. Her response left me deeply disappointed. Moreover, the overall racial climate in Greenville, South Carolina, where this particular branch is located, has added to my distress. Experiencing discrimination, even in the banking sector, is disheartening and troubling. As a result, I am determined to use every available means to expose such dishonest and discriminatory practices to ensure that BIPOC consumers are aware of the challenges they may face when doing business with Truist Bank.It is essential for any bank to take responsibility for its employees' actions and to address customer concerns promptly and professionally. In my experience with Truist Bank, this was not the case. The bank teller's error was not adequately corrected, and the branch manager's dismissive and unhelpful attitude only added to my frustration.I hope that my experience serves as a cautionary tale for others considering banking with Truist Bank. While I cannot speak for all of their branches or employees, my personal experience has left me deeply disappointed in how this bank operates. Discriminatory practices and poor customer service should never be tolerated, and consumers should be vigilant when choosing where to entrust their financial matters.

Mellisa went out of her way to help me with my mother in law that was not feeling well on a busy Friday afternoon. I am so grateful. Also Joey seemed a welcome site to Greenville and so did Reggie make me fell at home

Unethical and unresponsive. I’m not sure if the merge caused the downfall of this bank but it’s just simply not the client-friendly establishment that it used to be.

I’ve had this account for a couple years and honestly by far this is the worst bank I have ever banked with it is definitely not for the people I have been through some financial struggles in the last two years and every time I look up, I’m being charged a fee for something ridiculous, it’s been fee after fee, and it just makes you go deeper in the hole. When people are struggling the last thing you should do is put more strain on them as a bank I understand the point is to make money but I would never recommend this bank to anyone else. I’m currently looking into other options. I just hate to close this account because of the time that I have had it open but I’m definitely looking for other options. I’m sure there’s another fee to keep it open with minimal use but it’ll probably be less costly just to open another business account somewhere else and pay whatever their monthly fee is. I’m sure there’s a fee for something.

This branch shouldn't even earn a star. My mother was the teller coordinator of this branch for a couple of years until recently she was fired and the reason given was the most stupid reason. Whenever Ozzy Custodio was the manager, he was very nice and understanding. Definitely had respect for the other employees of the branch and was always so welcoming. Whenever Ozzy left to work at another bank (because suntrust does not treat any of their employees correctly unless you're a higher up), they brought in a man named Russell. One of the most unprofessional people I have ever met in my life. He was rude and talked down to the staff at this branch. My mom worked her butt off for this company, filling in at other branches and working through her lunch hours because they were always short staffed. Took verbal abuse everyday from clients who thought they were better than her. Whenever she was fired, Russell's excuse was that she was not succeeding to suntrust standards but then went back and told another coworker that “if you make the client happy then you will always have a jobâ€. From my understanding, isn't a manager supposed to support his or her employees?? If a complaint was made by a client then why didn't Russell ask my mother her side of the story?? Because he doesn't give a damn about anything or anyone as long as he is getting a paycheck. Which seems the same way about all HR and all management. My mother was an employee of SunTrust for almost 7 years and then one day, some entitled j*** ruins it for her. All I gotta say is karma sucks! And I hope karma hits this company in the face. Currently taking my business elsewhere.

A couple of times now, I have gone to Adam Cantrell, the branch manager of this bank, to get assistance with unusual issues, and he has been the most pleasant and understanding banker, with whom I have ever dealt. While I'm not a resident of Greenville, I have a business in town, and just happened upon him. He is really a throwback to your old, "local banker". He earnestly listens and honestly gives you his ideas on resolving the issue. What a great resource for SunTrust and Greenville. I wish he was in Atlanta!
