It was a good move. However our washing machine was damaged and my wife's quilting cutting board was destroyed.

So far, so good. I am not at the delivery address. Packing went slowly. Pickup seemed to be okay. The driver, Mike, was very professional and efficient. His workers were okay. I have not unpacked anything because I will not be at the delivery place until mid-August. Furniture was moved into the house under my daughter's direction with boxes and misc stocked in the garage.

They did a fabulous job moving everything and packing it up. I have no complaints there. Everything was well packed and nothing broke. My only issue is when I called them for a quote, every time I spoke to them the price went up and when we finally agreed upon a price they sent me the contract and the price went up again. I moved my mother out of an assisted living facility with just one room of furniture to another facility closer to my home that was four hours away. They only had to pack up one room and bring it up here and it cost $4600. Apparently they have a minimum weight charge so that seems kind of excessive for one room full of furniture. The initial quote was $4000, then $4200, then $4500, and when they sent the contract it was $4750.

Can't think of any problems at all. Shaun and his crew did an excellent job and nothing was broken. Would not hesitate to use them again. Lou Wynne

I'm giving my move with Allied 3 stars it was good, not great.I know things break down, like our truck did in South Hill, VA, but a little sympathy goes a long way. Which I didn't get.Maybe a "sorry for the inconvenience" instead of the truck broke down and it won't get there until Wednesday, isn't good enough in my book.We had some fragile items break, perhaps when they moved boxes between trucks. There was confusion on what went in storage and what went in the house, so that meant trips for me to the storage unit to find parts that belonged with the TV stand.I probably won't go with Allied again, or suggest it to others. For the price I thought I would get a bigger bang for our buck.-Bob

WORST moving experience ever!!! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE (in our case $14,000)!It started out well, although we did a big share of the work on the front end by packing everything ourselves. Loading for a cross country move only took them 6 hrs because we’d streamlined everything for them.Upon finishing loading, the driver lamented that he was due to make delivery 10 days later which just happened to be Thanksgiving week. We told him it would be okay to go see his family and we’d wait an extra week for delivery. After waiting in an almost empty house through Thanksgiving we were ready for our things! On delivery day they showed up and exclaimed that they didn’t feel comfortable driving up our driveway in the snow with the U-HAUL they’d rented to shuttle things up our driveway (18 wheeler can’t go up it). This was a surprise to us as we’d explicitly told them we had an uphill driveway and there would be snow since the move was to MONTANA in the winter. They wasted 3 hrs trying to find a 4 wheel drive shuttle truck… so we called the one person we knew in this new town and found a college kid with a 4 wheel drive truck. He picked up a U-Haul trailer and we finally started to unload the 18 wheeler at 2 pm. Notice I said “WE” because I had to use my Suburban to shuttle the small boxes uphill or the job wouldn’t be completed by sunset (5:15). Needless to say the guys were in a hurry, putting many boxes in places they weren’t marked to go. We’ve spent weeks moving the boxes to proper rooms to unpack them. On top of everything I was clearly sick (even lost my voice) but they let me help them. Super professional, right? When we called the main office the next day to ask for some type of compensation they offered 50% of what it cost us to pay the college kid and trailer rental. What an insult to a paying customer. We could have used POD movers for the same experience and for much less. These guys act professional on the front end but don’t let them fool you!!!We DO NOT RECOMMEND Allied Van Lines, Carey(Photo evidence below)
