Most places require personal insurance. Which makes it hard to rent like dollar car rental. Avis was a life saver and the vehicle was perfect. Thanks Avis ❤️

I had a great experience at the Greenville/Spartanburg airport. The Avis car rental attendant was friendly and kind and supportive and I really appreciated it. It was late and I had traveled and worked all day.

I spoke with 2 representatives regarding assistance with creating a reservation. They were extremely rude and I asked for corporate number and the "sales supervisor" Gerado hung up on me.

My flight from Greenville to Tampa was cancelled due to mechanical issues with the plane. I had to drive back to Tampa, due to next flight not being available until later the next day. Avis charged me a $500 one way rental fee, as well as a higher rate on an additional daily rental. After speaking to 3 people, I was told there was nothing to do about the fee or rate. Just be aware of the high fee, hate people have to pay this if travel issues arise. I’m also an Avis Preferred Member, have only rented from Avis, a loyal customer, but not anymore.

Excellent service! Very easy to pick up and drop off the vehicle. No delay waiting for a car...it was ready when I got to the counter at GSP. Drop-off was as easy as driving into the drop off lane where I was met by an agent who thanked me for renting with Avis and told me to have a great day! I'll do it again next time travel calls for a car rental.

The front desk only had 1 person working. A huge line out the door. Took 1.5 hours of waiting in line to finally get my car. Avis seems to always be understaffed while National and Enterprise have at least 2 employees working the desk and never have lines.I'm guessing Avis is pinching pennies, underpaying their staff and not trying to hire additional employees. I will look elsewhere for a car rental as Avis has proven to be unreliable.

I did an online rental for a van on January 8, 2024 and payed for it also. We went on February 18 to pick it up. The attendant told me......we don't have any vans...... so she gave us an SUV instead (not a big one either). We have a family of 6 and the SUV was not big enough like a van would have been. Yes there were 7 seats (which were tight) between 6 people, with luggage and items we bought on our trip it was TIGHT... It was definitely not equivalent to a van!! Also when I picked up this vehicle the attendant told me we have to put up a $250.00 deposit b/c we are locals.... he had already paid for the car and nothing was mentioned about a deposit. Also there were issues with this SUV...it wasn't even in great working order. God willing we will NEVER rent front Avis again.

I have rented from Avis for a long time. This was the worst experience of any rental company. They have one employee working the desk and seemingly one person "bringing up cars." I had a reservation for 5PM. My plane was on time and I went directly to the counter. I arrived at 4:55PM and there was a short line. When I got to the counter the employee was writing customers names down on a tablet to have "their car brought up." Aren't the reservations in their system? Didn't they know at the beginning of the day who was arriving at what time? I would have expected they would have those reservations already "pulled up." From the time I arrived, to the time my car was pulled up was just over 1 hour. I watched as both Enterprise and National (right next door) customers came and went. I am not sure if this airport is understaffed, no leadership, or just not following their processes. No one every asked about my experience upon return. If you call customer service you get caught in a spiral of automated messages.I will now consider another company before renting from Avis.

Easiest experience with renting a vehicle that I’ve ever had. I got an automatic upgrade and everything was ready as I walked to the desk. Total time to pick the vehicle up and to return it was under a minute.

If I could give this place a 0, I would. Last week, I waited more than 2 hours to get a vehicle. This week, I waited 2 hours as well. I informed the lady at the counter that I was presidents club, and we are supposed to have the highest priority when it comes to car availability. She said that preferred and presidents club members are treated the same. I showed her Avis's website, mentioning the difference, and she did not care. Next time, I will know better and book with National to avoid the shenanigans.
