Overall our experience here was okay, but the negatives lead us to move out sooner than we wanted to.The outdoor space is incredible and that was the best part of living here. We really enjoyed the trails and walking to the water and the playground was a fun place to walk to with our son.But unfortunately the negatives outweighed the positives. The apartments are very loud. We heard everything our neighbors did, and sometimes the things we heard were disturbing. But what drove us out was the overwhelming smell of weed that would infiltrate our apartment. This happened almost every day, and it was a very very strong smell. Not a pleasant atmosphere to have our toddler in. So as much as we wanted to love this place, that didn't happen for us.

My wife and I just recently moved in, the application process was super easy online. The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful and very well kept up with. The front staff and maintenance are all extremely helpful and very professional. We love most of all the dog parks and I’m sure our dog would agree too!

I lived here from 2019 to 2020 and I would never recommend this place to anyone. The maintenance crew will go into your apartment when they're not supposed to. I got walked in on after I had just taken a shower by a painter who had the wrong apartment. He said that mine was supposed to be empty and that the admin office had mistakenly put my apartment on a list of a few to repaint, I had another 6 months on my lease at the time. I always put on my repair forms that no one is allowed in my apartment without me there and multiple times I had maintenance guys come into my place without knocking and be shocked to see me there. It only stopped after I got a rottweiler and they were afraid to come into my place. And the whole 500 building is terribly infested with cockroaches. When I moved in there were so many dead ones that I had to clean. No matter how spotless I kept my place they were still there, I had them coming out of the electrical sockets. They were crawling over me in my sleep and they would be in my shower when I would try to use it. At the time I was paying an added $50 fee for pest control but I never once saw anyone spraying anything. When I filled out a complaint I was told that the three dishes I had in my sink already rinsed off were to blame and that they couldn't do anything.I also had to pay an extra $50 fee for a trash pickup. But the maintenance guys who were in charge of it never followed their own rules. They wouldn't pick it up within the given hours (which were hard to follow for the mainly military residents btw), they also refused to pick up certain bags if they were "too heavy" even if they were in the provided trash bin with the bag double tied like they asked. I was constantly getting more fines because they wouldn't pick it up on time and then the residents were blamed for "leaving their trash out for too long" even if it hadn't gotten picked up yet. That also made it so that more roaches and rats were coming to our apartments attracted by the trash, but the admin office didn't think it was an issue I guess.

We moved here after 2 years of renting houses from big corp America. We spend less, have more and are generally quite pleased. The pool, lazy river and hot tub (spa) are incredible. Having access to a dock, boat ramp, and pier is great. Haven't managed to catch dinner yet but are enjoying family time with a couple poles in the water. There are multiple pool tables and a game room the family can enjoy; my teens definitely love the pool table lounge. There are parks, dog parks, walking trails, manicured wooded areas, natural areas and the complex actually has enough parking. There are a few things I would change, but overall, this is the best apartment complex I've lived in. The front office staff are incredibly kind and always willing to help out.

I am a current resident here and have been for almost two years. We moved here after a previous nightmare apartment living experience and it has been like night and day. My fiancé and I love living here. The amenities and neighborhood events are amazing and so are the staff. Major shoutout to the maintenance team who are timely, kind, and super caring. Overall, an amazing place to live.

I have been living at The Channel Family Apartments for about 6 months now and I don’t even have words to describe how amazing this place is. There are amazing amenities such as a lazy River, gym, game rooms and jacuzzi. This place makes it hard to want to leave your apartment! On top of that we are within walking distance of amazing local restaurants and a grocery store. Maintenance is very helpful and respond quickly, the staff is absolutely WONDERFUL and they are constantly working on new things to keep residents happy. I recommend The Channel to everyone!

I love this place and community, it’s beautiful and has a peaceful environment. I’ve never had any issues with anyone or anything. Every time my unit needs some attention they are on their way to solve it in the best way possible. My only concern regarding to my unit is the horizontal windows of the bedrooms but master. I’d rather have a nicer view from the rooms, but I can deal with that since I rented it without visiting the actual apartment, just looking at the floor plans. I want to move to another unit but I’d stay as long as I can at Channel.

This is the best place to live. Not only is the apartment spacious, and the amenities the best around, the staff is what keeps us here. My elderly parents live with me, and the staff always goes above and beyond with them. My father was in the hospital a few years ago, and members of the maintenance team came over and helped walk his dog to allow us to stay at the hospital with him. I have never lived in a place where the office, and maintenance, staff care this much and go above and beyond. They are the reason we are still here. I have recommended Channel to many people and will continue to do so for years to come.

My boyfriend and I love our apartment here. Alec helped us through the application and move-in processes, and he is always helpful and responsive to any questions or issues we have. Maintenance is quick to fix things, and the amenities are great!

I’m currently a resident here and it’s such an enjoyable place to live. The staff is very friendly. I don’t personally use many of the amenities they offer ;however, I like that they’re available. I do take advantage of their floating river dock access where I enjoy fishing the wide variety of fish the brackish water has to offer and the scenery is beautiful, I often see a plethora of mesmerizing animals from hawks to great blue herons. I post most of my nature photography on my photography page picture_this_imagery. Definitely a 5 star place.

I was a resident of the Channel Family Apartments from July 2022-March 2023. From the start there were issues with communication regarding parking, community fees, etc. Our base rent was 1675 and we ended paying almost 1950 each month. While we expected the community fees, we were shocked at how high they were! The only utility that was included in that extra 300 was water and sewer. We asked what the community fees entail but never got clear communication. Come time to move out, we had to ask several times for a move out check list and finally received it 3 days before move out. The check list was extensive, but we worked hard to make sure we did our part. I even emailed for clarification regarding the check list but did not receive a response. We were told to just leave the key on the counter. No move out paperwork, move out walk through or anything. Since we were not given move out paperwork, we were not asked for a forwarding address. While we should have made sure, in the brink of moving, things as simple as that seem to be forgotten. 2 months after we move, we got a letter from a debt collector saying we owed the Channel money. We had received no contact from the Channel regarding these charges. We would have been more inclined to pay if this was handled properly. Many of the charges included bathroom cleanings and sink cleanings. I've lived in several rental properties and have never had after move out charges regarding cleaning. I felt as though they expected the tenants to clean to move in ready standards for the next tenants which makes me wonder if they have a cleaning service that cleans in between moves. You would also think the high community fee would go towards things like this. Overall, very frustrated that our credit was put at risk given the Channels lack of effort to communicate these charges to us before sending it to a debt collector since they had our emails and phone numbers.

I’m sad to say that I would never recommend Channel Family Apartments to anyone. Their communication skills from the beginning were non existent. My first frustrating experience with them was immediately after I moved in when I received a sticker on my brand new car that was a warning ticket to not park in reserved parking. They had not explained to me at move in where I could and could not park. Throughout my stay, there was often no place to park. We were also not told how much a community service fee would be and when we asked for clarification, things still didn’t add up. They wanted us to pay extra every month in addition to rent. This included $300 extra dollars for fees that made no sense. Fast forward to our move out. We had to email them several times to receive a move out check list. When we asked for clarifications on the list, we NEVER received a response from them. We did our best with no response and moved out with no instructions or clarification to questions that were asked more than once. There was never a move out or move in walk through. Two months later we both received a letter from a debt collector that we owed 450 dollars. We NEVER were contacted by Channel about these charges. We were not given the opportunity to work things out before they reported us to the debt collector. My roomate and I both feel like we were done so wrong and Channel scammed us. Do yourself a favor and don’t live here… unless you have lots of extra money to just throw away

The views here are gorgeous, the pool is kept relatively clean for how busy it is, and the front office workers are generally kind and accommodating.Valet trash is a joke, more money is spent on looking instagrammable than actually improving the complex, and rules are not enforced for much of anything.I enjoyed living here, but there were some quick and easy fixes that would have made the experience so much better. The resident events were fantastic and definitely gear these apartments toward younger millennials and gen Z-ers.

Review is only on the apartment search process. We signed up for to do a virtual tour. When we arrived on the property, instructions and signage was not clear. App directed us to an apartment that was supposed to be a model, however someone was actually living in the place. It was such a turn off that we moved on to the next apartment complex.
