We will be back! My wife and I wanted to experience Disney Hilton Head Island Resort and give it a try, but we assumed that it would be a "one-and-done" visit. NOPE! The Disney cast members are amazing, and there is so much to do at the resort. My kids enjoyed the Beach House and learned to play bocce ball at the resort. The on-site food choices are great and do not break the bank. General Manager Joe has an amazing staff including Ann at the front desk, Jennifer in activities/entertainment, Lauren in the gift shop, and the best Mousekeepers!

First off, this isn’t a WDW resort. It’s a Hilton Head Island (HHI) resort. DVC’s HHI resort is built on its own island, accessible via a bridge that takes you to the resort’s security entrance. At WDW, the amenities of all kinds (restaurants, attractions, etc) are pre-packaged and built-in for you.DVC’s HHI resort has a smattering of nice amenities built in, but HHI itself is where you will find all sorts of wonderful restaurants and attractions. The main buildings are nicely spaced and uncrowded. There’s only one place on the property to buy snacks, and it might take 5-minutes to walk there depending on where your lodging is located. (I found this to be rather enjoyable)The property and footprint have similarities to Old Key West, but the sense of privacy and safety is greater due to the “moat” that surrounds you. The theme of the place is 1940s fishing lodge. Very low-key. Lots of southern oak and pine trees dripping with Spanish Moss.Access to the shore and beach is to the DVC HHI beach house via a shuttle bus or your car. Easy and 5-minutes max. There’s a very nice Disney-quality pool there, a standard DVC poolside snack bar, and a gated access path to the vast, clean ocean beach. We had a one-bedroom apartment with full kitchen, comfortable bedroom, and large balcony. Supplies were available at the nearby Krogers. Remember, this is a HHI resort, so be sure to rent a car!Great restaurants abound… Cranes Steakhouse, Redfish Grill, Elas seafood. Our 10-day vacation was fun, soothing, relaxing, and happy

This place is top notch. Details everywhere. The rooms are clean and everything you’d need is provided. The river view is so relaxing and the marina in the front is very cool so see. Shopping is walking distance. All activities and attractions are near by. The beach club feels like you’re at a private retreat. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of parking but we always found a spot, but we also visited off season. The front desk surprised me with a gift for an accomplishment I was celebrating. I’d go and time and time again. We went for a fishing trip but only caught 1 little red fish. Maybe next time

I wish the one bedroom locations were in a better location instead of live oak lodge as it is very noisy. I hope they have updated the rooms with more comfortable seating. Otherwise the resort is excellent, great for family vacation. Loved going to the beach even in December. The staff deserves five

I am a DVC member and I booked this hotel for my husband and I to have a vacation. This hotel is nothing like the resorts you find in Orlando. In my opinion, it is very outdated, run down and does not feel like it’s owned by Disney at all. We had an issue with the people staying in the room directly above us. they were nonstop jumping on and off the bed running around the room it sounded like they were moving the furniture all around and it did not stop -all night, all morning. I ended up having to call the front desk because we just couldn’t get any sleep. the lady at the front desk said she will call them and tell them they have to be quiet, then she called me back and told me that I shouldn’t have any more problems and I had told her that it was still happening as we’re on the phone. I asked her if she can just switch our room somewhere else and she told me that’s not an option. They don’t have any other rooms available. So we decided to just leave early because we could not get any sleep there. I really don’t think that’s right because we paid money just like everyone else to stay at this hotel. very disappointing trip drove over six hours to come to this place and really wasn’t treated great by the staff. It wasn’t worth it should not have even tried to go here. Should’ve just spent my DVC points in Orlando and had a much greater time. There is absolutely no soundproofing in this hotel. You can hear everything in the walls and through the ceiling. Just know that if you were going to stay here.

Rooms: The rooms are a little dated but there is an ongoing renovation project with more and more ahead updated.Nearby activities: Rent a bike and ride to the beach house or other beach access points. Take a trip to The Bank and visit one if their bars or food trucks. Head down to Lincoln & South and get the charcuterie plate (the best on the island). Go to one of the daily activities or excursions.Walkability: Walkable to the HHI crossway greenway system. Though I would suggest you rent (or bring) a bike and explore the 100-miles of greenway in the island.Food & drinks: The resort has a walk-up quick service grill and a retail store that sells snacks and drinks, but unlike other Disney resorts, HHI does not have a proper restaurant or bar.Thankfully, you can easily walk across the bridge and visit Scott’s or any number of other restaurants and bars.

We absolutely loved this Disney Vacation Club resort!! We truly enjoyed everything about it. Extremely nice and efficient Cast members. Very clean and spacious room! Beautiful heated swimming pool. Lots of activities to choose from. The wheelchair access path to the beach is a brilliant path!! I've never seen such material that was used for the path. It looked like it would be so easy to move a wheelchair along it. Absolutely brilliant!!Rooms: Spacious and clean.Nearby activities: Lots of activities at this resort.Safety: Clear paths to walk. Locjef gate at entrance.Walkability: Lots a great walking paths.Noteworthy details: Beautiful dock and cabana to enjoy the sunset.

Stayed here 10/14-20. We've been DVC members for over 20 years with our home resort being Disney Hilton Head. Staying at Disney HHI in October you get beautiful weather. However, we're finding that Disney cuts back on their staff. The Signals food service at the beach house is only open 11-3. Ridiculous! The dedicated bar window that serves cocktails by the pool at the beach house is closed. We found this to be very disappointing and unacceptable. The resort in general is still a great place, but the property and buildings haven't been renovated since it opened over 20 years ago. We now see Disney has just begun a renovation project that is currently modernizing the guest rooms.Rooms: In dire need of renovation. They are outdated.Food & drinks: Services at the beach house are horrible. Signals only open 11-3 and the dedicated bar (Sandbar?) window never opened. Closed our entire trip. Unacceptable.

My family and I have been to several Disney resorts over the past decade. Safe to say that all of them have very good customer service, but Hilton Head, wow! Jessica and the other staff members at the mercantile shop were exceptional! Jessica went above and beyond to cater to our interests and desires for our vacation, and we will never forget how happy she made us. There was some remodeling being done while we were there, though we were fortunate enough to not really notice any construction noise. The rooms may be a little dated, with older furniture and some wear n tear on things, but still more than adequate. The parking lot is narrow, but we never had much trouble finding a close spot. Anything that might interest you, is surely close to the resort. Never had to drive more than 20 minutes to get somewhere, plus there are numerous restaurants and shops within walking distance. My family and I left with a feeling of great satisfaction, and the yearn to come back soon.

They are in the middle of remodeling so that was a bit inconvenient. The first morning we were awakened by banging in the villa above us. The parking was scarce. Those were my only complaints. The customer service was outstanding, as usual. Every single cast member was superb. There were so many activities for the kids to do. Their favorite was fishing and crabbing though. The kids had so much fun and I had a relaxing break. I wish there was an onsite restaurant, the ones across from the marina were not that good, in my opinion.Rooms: The rooms were clean and nice. A bit dated, but then again it is a 1940s fishing lodge theme. But it is time for a facelift. My mattress had a dip in it. The living room sofas were worn out and the cushions kept sliding off while you sat.Nearby activities: There is an outlet nearby and a marina to watch the boats come in.Safety: I felt completely safe and walked everywhere even at night.Walkability: There are a few bars and restaurants nearby that you can walk along the pier to get to in less than 10 minutes.Food & drinks: The onsite snacks and drinks were good. We ate breakfast onsite, which was good. Everyone loves Mickey waffles. The alcoholic drinks were tasty, but not strong.
