I had a rather disappointing experience with Diamond, the staff member at the front desk. I used a travel assist to book my stay and somehow the agents address was submitted rather than mine... this prompted Dimand to tell me she would not be able to honor my reservation. Despite expecting a hospitable and welcoming experience, I was met with skepticism and rude assumptions from Diamond, which had quite a negative impact on my overall experience. My stay was supposed to be a reward for my excellent booking history- but it was clear that my presence was not appreciated, and Diamond's dismissive and short treatment of me left a bad taste in my mouth. Although the manager was able to address Diamond's concerns, it was disappointing that my own experience was not addressed or acknowledged.I feel that the way Diamond treated me based on her assumptions and/ or a lack of training required some level of response from the manager. I had to explain to my own child that the way she treated me was not acceptable. Her threatening not to let us check in made my son feel insecure and presented a great deal of confusion that was unnecessary. The room in question was characterized by its exceptional beauty and attention to detail, which exceeded all of my initial expectations. The restaurant provided an unparalleled level of service that was both attentive and accommodating. The cuisine on offer was of an exquisite quality, and each dish was prepared with the utmost care and expertise. The overall impression of the restaurant was one of a seamless blend of elegance, refinement, and sophistication that was simply unforgettable.

Love Marriott Monarch. Been going there for years. It is quiet and relaxing. The ocean is a very short walk away. The beach was busy but not crowded and there were plenty of spaces available to set up umbrella, chairs and towles. Remember to bring a sun shade and sunscreen so you don't burn. The reason I gave 3 stars instead of 4: this was the very first time we were given the wrong room number to our room key on the paper that directs you to the villa. It was quite a walk to go back and sort it out, then walk all the way back to the correct villa. Whew! The check in staff also forgot to give us wrist bands for the pool area. We were questioned by the pool monitor and went back to guest services for them. Oh, and the room service staff forgot to give us the small travel size dish soap we are used to getting as part of the normal kitchen essentials. These were small inconveniences and were not our reflective of our normal experiences over the years. Other than that, our stay was wonderful & relaxing.Retuned to Monarch several months later, in October. Excellent service. Heated pool is wonderful. Temperature is great. Ocean water is on the chilly side.

Great resort along the beach with lots to do. Large pools, large chess board, and much more. Rooms were modern and nice to stay in. Staff were friendly, gave us free drinks by the pool. Jacuzzi was closed, but everything else was great. Overall good, I recommend.

Nice location small for a resort close to pool close to beach. I wish they had larger beds in the second room. Everything seemed upgraded this year we had to leave because of the hurricane. Hopefully they’ll give us our points back. Very

Excellent resort on the best side of the island - Sea Pines. We stayed in unit 3621, along the back, and could still see the ocean. Easy walk and very peaceful setting. Love being able to walk from the beautiful pool to the ocean without the need to drive to the beach, or take a shuttle. Super convenient to Harbor Town, and only a 15 minute drive, or less to Walmart, fast food, and other grocery stores. Plenty to do for the week, including exploring nearby beaches or forts. First time to Hilton Head, and we chose wisely staying at this location. Explored the other Marriott's including Grande Ocean, and liked the setting at Monarch the best.

Monarch was everything I expected to be and more. The friendly and respectful service from the staff is to the highest standards. A very special thanks to the front desk attendant Inertia and Pino de pool person. They were so helpful and gracious. The sunrise was stunning. Thank you for EVERYTHING ❤️

We loved it here! It was kid friendly in every way. Super easy beach access. We saw dolphins right in front of us on the beach! The place gets quite in the evenings which I enjoyed. We also enjoyed the gym and cocktail events.

Just returned from a week at Marriott Monarch Seapines. We had a great time. We feel so safe here with our family. There are a few restaurants within walking distance and bike rentals onsite. This is not like other really large vacation club properties, this one is different. It is smaller and more intimate. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. Service was impeccable, if we needed more coffee or anything they would bring it right to the room. The beach access is easy and the new sundeck and firepits were really nice. Easy access to beach. The pools were great and the landscaping was beautiful and well maintained. Staff super friendly and very helpful!

I own a timeshare here and look forward to using it every year. I have a two bedroom unit and, my wife and I, invite our best friends down every year. The facility is great though we never use the pool. We are beach people when not on our bikes or playing pickleball nearby. Wonderful location in Sea Pines close to both Harbor Town and South Port.

I'm an original owner (40 years) at Monarch. The location and access to the beach and pools make the property so special. Love how safe we feel with our families. The landscaping is beautiful. The inside of the units are old and dated. Didn't feel like Marriott had good management on this property.

I really can’t understand the 5 star reviews on this resort??? Yes the staff are lovely and it’s right on the beach. It’s dated and tired with no bar or restaurant. We had a two week Marriott resort stay one week here and the other at the grand ocean. Also on the beach with spacious and airy units which have been renovated. With lots of facilities.

Out of all my trips to the magnificent Sea Pines area of the beautiful Hilton Head Island, The Monarch is not typically where I stay, but every time I am not at the Harbour Club, this is where I go; and for most certainly good reasons! The villas and rooms are very spacious, beachfront access is very much a big plus, and there is now a restaurant in the beach club building next door you can go to!When you aren't out and about on the island, there are a multitude of activities the staff puts on to indulge in, such as Christmas themed trivia that I partook in. If that still wasn't enough for you, there is also a kids splash pad, a giant chess set towards the back, a koi pond behind the pools, an area where you can grill your own food, two giant pools, and games such as shuffleboard and foosball! There's also a gym in the lobby. One interesting change they've made recently is that they took the three small hot tubs, demolished them, and made one big hot tub instead! In short, this is certainly a place to go where you will get your money's worth on your vacation!
