Great location, very convenient access to a great section of the beach. Staff was great. It was super hot out and rooms were clean, but did not get super cool. All in all a great place and I would recommend for a beach trip.

This was the 3rd year our family went to Omni Hilton Head but unfortunately, it would be our last. We strongly suggest Omni to look into management and staff at this resort as if nothing is done, they will ruin the Omni brand, as evidenced by the many recent 1 star reviews.
It is a great location and the beach is gorgeous. Rooms are outdated. Dinning at the resort has ridiculous prices (vs. the quality of food). But what made us decide to NEVER go back was the unhelpful, and often outright rude attitude of their staff. We are always willing to pay for a premium location and good experience, but it now feels like all the management and staff at this resort care about is $$$ with no customer service left. Business will go elsewhere.

This place is not as advertised. You think it’s the Omni brand you’re used to, but it’s not. Photos are misleading, the “renovated rooms” is just updated bathroom, same terrible carpet, low ceilings and air conditioning that sounds like a cat dying. Pools are not as nice as they seem on pictures either. Only nice building is the lobby. You’re better off somewhere else

Food & drinks: Lovely time having a Pina Colata overlooking the beach. Relaxing and enjoyable.

Everything was excellent from the room, amenities and the food. All employees were beyond helpful and we will 100% be back.
Food & drinks: Drinks, sit down and to go market were all really good

Pros:
Staff is extremely attentive, professional, respectful, and friendly. Very concientious of the needs of patrons and consistently receptive to requests of service.
Resort is gorgeous with great facilities all kept in tip-top shape.
Beach access from the hotel is tough to beat: direct from one of the buildings with showers and free towels with return bins for those that have been used at the pools. Rentable umbrellas and beach chairs if you're willing to pay a pretty penny.
There are general pools as well as an adult pool separate from the others. (The adult pool doesn't have an intense chlorine scent, if you know what I mean)
Cons:
Food is pretty middle tier. A coin flip between some pretty bland stuff and some real nice dishes. Their Guac and Nachos are quite great.
Hotel market has your textbook necessities as a traveler (sunscreen, hygenic products, etc.) along with snack options that are relatively limited and notably pricey (even by general 'nice' hotel standards).
The architecture in the building is set up in a fashion that all the hallways essentually turn into acoustic "boom tubes" where anything anyone says/does in the building can rocket down the hallways and be heard regardless of what room you are in. Even with a comfortable bed I struggled to sleep any of the evenings I stayed here.
Walls are a bit thin. Could hear the activities of my neighbors (general conversation, TV Shows, and moving chairs/furniture as they got ready for bed) with a concerning level of clarity.
Family friendly place, if that's what you're looking for (A fair number of kids during peak summer season of Mid-July during my experience).
Would give up half the square footage in my room if it meant any of the chairs in the room were comfortable to sit in.
Walkability: Limited access to any commercial afforable places to get stuff that isn't exorbitantly priced. You have to drive about 5 or 6 minutes to leave the neighborhood/complex to get to the main road.

TL:DR; fantastic location on the beach, close to almost everything in HH, and great pools. However the food and drink service as well as housekeeping all leave something to be desired.
Was here a few years ago with just my wife and we loved the adult only pool and being able to walk on the beach, but the rooms were so dated, our beach view was actually a parking lot and wedding venue view, and the food drink service was hard to come by.
Fast forward to this year. We go with the kids because we hear they updated the rooms. Rooms were 1000x better. We got a courtyard view because why pay for a beach view that is actually a parking lot - and we had more beach view with our courtyard room! Was worried about noise from courtyard, but the upgraded patio doors were great at keeping sound out. Pools were still great and family friendly. Food was still good, but again pool side service isn’t reliable. Walking to the bar is the way to go.
Downsides: first full day house keeping came and made beds and took our towels, but didn’t replace any. Second day they never came at all. So we went to front desk to ask for more coffee and some replacement towels. We weren’t mad, things happen, but were surprised when instead of an apology we were told not to hang our DND sign. We explained we had not had it up, but he waved us off. Third day they came and did a great job.
Parking: lots next to both buildings, but their one way rows can make getting to a spot a little round about. Also just have a bell hop take your bags. It’s worth the tip.
Rooms: Nicely upgraded rooms with sink, mini fridge, coffee, safe, couch, and nice balcony.
Nearby activities: Lots of things near by like mini golf, sea pines, movie theaters, and more.
Walkability: You can walk to the beach and that’s it. Be prepared to drive a solid 6-8 minutes to get back to main road.
Food & drinks: Great breakfast on site. Some good kid options for lunch. Drinks are good too.

Stayed at the Omni in June 2024 with my husband and two young boys. We had a suite and it was fantastic. Super spacious. The staff had two cribs waiting and ready for us when we arrived. We rented a car during our stay so it was easy to get around the island and enjoy things. There is a small playground at the hotel. The pools and hot tubs are awesome and it's a short walk to the beach. We ate at the HH Prime one night and it was okay- nothing special. The staff was overall super friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

Had a great time at the resort. Everything from start to finish went smoothly! The shuttle team was AMAZING. JJ, Clint, and Exotel were all incredibly helpful and really took great care of our needs. The housekeeping team was also great and I liked the text communication feature.

Beautiful resort! Very kid friendly and Celiac friendly. Rooms, pool, and beach are just beautiful! Food and drinks are great! Loads to do in the area as well, on and off the resort.
Rooms: Spacious and beautiful rooms. Ours had a mini kitchen, which really came in handy. Bathrooms were nice. Everything has been updated with modern decor and amenities. Love the ocean view balcony where you can just sit with a drink or coffee in the morning and listen to the ocean. So calming!
Nearby activities: Love the Salty Dog Cafe and the various harbor areas around the island. Dolphin tours were fun as well! There's even a little lighthouse museum where you can go to the top for an amazing view!
Food & drinks: Love that the resort was so allergy friendly. Dining here was stress free due to their knowledge of cross contamination. Gluten free options were so good, very Celiac friendly!

Great place. Awesome dinosaur themed water park. My son was so surprised when the dragon flew overhead and sprayed everyone with water. The Jurassic Park themed underwater tour is top notch!

My wife and I took a week long trip to HHI and stayed at the wonderful Omni Resort in the Palmetto Dunes area. The resort was fabulous, well maintained, great pools, wonderful on-site market as well as a sports bar (XO) and restaurant (hh prime). The staff were incredible and we'd go back any time!
Rooms: The rooms are spacious and we stayed in one with a kitchenette as well as a seating area. Had a partial ocean view, in all honesty, there was nothing partial about it, amazing view!
Nearby activities: A lot of the events that we did had us going out of the Palmetto Dunes area, so a rental car was well worth it. However, plenty of golf courses near the hotel along with a few restaurants. The hotel also offers a complimentary courtesy shuttle for destinations within 3 miles.
Safety: We felt extremely safe on Palmetto Dune where the resort is located. Guard shack to check you into the island and patrol around all the time!
Walkability: Plenty of walking trails all over the Palmetto Dunes area!
Food & drinks: We very much enjoyed evening beverages at the sports bar (XO) and a delicious dinner at hh prime. The staff at both the bar and restaurant were amazing!!
