My friend and I were visiting Hilton Head for four days and stopped to find out about renting a bike. We walked into the store but the reception was less than friendly. Actually we felt like we were an imposition just for walking in and Wheelz had been recommended to us. Delivery of bikes to area hotels for two or more days was advertised but we didn’t get that option so we left.

This is the second time I’ve rent from this company and worth it. Very reasonable prices and no hassle to bring the bikes to even after hours.

Very unaccomodating if something happens and you need a refund. Tried to cancel a booking within hours of making it, but they still haven't responded. Except to send a confirmation 4 hours after the pick up time.

They messed up and gave us an extra bike, so that's a plus. Clean store and rental stuff seemed in good repair. Prices seemed fair. 4 starts comes from the fact that I felt like they should have been able to deliver our bikes on the same day based off of the time we rented them... But, in all fairness, I don't wear my watch on vacation, it could possibly have been 10 min before closing.

Very disappointed. We rented a six person golf cart for four days. When I found out that I couldn't take it to Sea Pines, I called within two hours to ask what there is to do then (which is basically nothing). So I asked if we could return it - the woman was pretty rude about it and said no. She said the fine print says it's my responsibility to check for this. I just feel like I was bamboozled. So I asked if I could cancel today for at least the last two days (which would have been within the 48 hour cancellation policy), and she just said no. So I spent almost $1,000 for a two hour drive on the golf cart. It's not convenient to drive to the office, get in the golf cart, and only have one beach to take it too.

Wish places were more lenient on cancellations. Sadly had family issues and needed to cancel but referred me to the policy, no exceptions nor any reduced price or something of the sort. So I picked it up alone to make use of the expensive rental for an hour. I did appreciate the are not strict on rental time and allowed me to drop off using drop box at any hour that evening after close. Cart was super nice, clean, and Bluetooth speaker was cool. But I learned also about the 17 mph cap as you have to use main roads, not their fault at all being the law but sure feels unsafe cars whizzing by and upset with nothing but air between us. Hilton head is beautiful and great way to tour the area on your own.

This was our 2nd time renting bikes from Wheelz. The process from renting to delivery to pickup was seamless! Convenient and affordable.

I chose Wheelz because of its clean, attractive facility stocked with a wide range of bikes and golf carts in new condition. I rented a standard bike for tall adult riders 6’2” and above, for a half day. The team at Wheels office, Lisa and Edie, were cheerful and courteous, and provided me a bike with basket and locking chain. I liked the option to rent a helmet for just $5, and also turning the bike in after hours, no extra charge. The young man at turn in was polite and expedited me thru bike return in 30 seconds. The bike and accessories were in very good shape. The model bike I chose didn’t fit me for a long ride; the geometry for pedaling didn’t mesh (I am very tall). Excellent price, quality service, and equipment condition all very good.Terry4 May 2023

Rented a six seat golf cart here the other day for purposes of putzing around the area bar hopping.Real nice, very new golf carts. Bluetooth sound bar your passengers can hook up to in order to control the music.Because street-legal golf carts can only travel on 35mph or less roads there are quite a few restrictions on your travel, but Wheelz has a nice map that shows the approved roads.These things aren't speed demons with six people on them, but you'll have a ton of fun on them!Recommended.

My husband rented a 6 passenger golf cart last week for vacation costing over 750.00. Each turn he made became harder and harder. We took it back the next day and the whole yard was filled with 6 passenger carts yet I wondered why we had #15. We had decided just to turn it in for a refund. Understand this: There is no refund.I spoke with the manager who told me maybe we just didn't know how to drive and they would give us lessons. I told her we owned 3 golf carts and used them regularly. What an insult. I told her just give me a regular 4 seat golf cart and refund the difference. She told me: there would be no refund. I told her not to be smart mam but this had not gone through my bank and I could stop the payment and she laughed and said you go ahead but you will lose. Your husband signed a contract. I believe in paying for what I get but I over paid for something I didn't get. I was over charged around 350.00. Better check it all out before doing business with them ?????

Super convenient to rent bikes. We did the rental request, agreement, and payment online. Bikes were dropped off at our vacation rental the next day while we were at the beach. Bikes were picked back up after we checked out of the house. Bikes were all in good condition and easy to ride. We wouldn't do without bikes on Hilton Head. It's our preferred mode of transportation around the island.

I have been renting bikes for 25 yrs from HHI when I go. Everyone knows it’s the thing to do when you get in. With that knowledge, I’m in the know that they are busy on check-in day and the day after.With that being said, my condo came with bikes- awesome. So I called 2 hrs before close and was on hold until close. Couldn’t leave a message and no one answered. Alright, no problem, I would call in the morning. Call right when they opened- I was on hold for 2 hrs, no answer. So I drove up there and the two girls working informed me when I asked that their phones were down. I then followed up with, well why does the website or even the voicemail not indicate this? The website also tells you to call… so it’s just a round about circle that you can only resolve by physically coming in- which defeats the purpose of the website and calling in.They had no reply- in addition, they had a puppy at the counter- completely fine. Not fine when I asked to get a reservation going after they explained the phones being down and proceeded to play with the dog instead of booking a reservation… while I was standing there. I had to reiterate that I indeed wanted to book and then they actioned starting my reservation… really? I’m a patient person but between the phones and website essentially not bringing in business, you would think they didn’t need my business by the way they were acting- I was not impressed by the customer service in the slightest.After the booking( which I was informed I would have to return in person and take in person- no drop off to my condo) I went downstairs and retrieved the bikes. Thankfully, the gentleman who deal with that part made it seamless. Text for the bike lock code and then when you check out the bikes.I would not recommend this place. I have dealt with 2 other companies that had better communication overall. Again, completely understand things happen like the phones being out, but for 3 days and you still don’t have a message online about the fact that you physically have to go in to reserve? Doesn’t seem customer friendly.
