Tried to order 2 peonies from this company. Placed the order around July 2023 and was told for months that the plants would ship in September. When I tried to get an exact shipping date towards end of September a supervisor told me the rep who told me repeatedly to expect the plants in September was wrong, and that I would get them early October. Yesterday, 10/5, I requested an update and was told nothing except "plants will be shipped". Frost is predicted in IL on 10/15 so out of an abundance of caution I just canceled the order. Very pathetic customer service here if I can't even get an order for 2 plants after more than 3 months. I won't be shopping here again.

We ordered 6 trees. Upon arrival, only 5 were viable which is not good but things happen.We requested a refund. Eventually, we were credited the "price" of 1 tree. We were expecting a refund of 1/6th of the invoice price which would include "sales tax" and "shipping". We don't feel we should pay for tax and shipping on a dead tree. We have written them back regarding this and they have failed to reply.Not good business practice.

After contacting the company and sharing my concerns, they followed up with me and made things right and stated they were working at improving the ordering issues.

Absolutely Horrendous! Purchased approx.500$ worth of plants,when shipment arrived on Saturday . Immediately opened box and noticed 6 of the plants were unacceptable ! Photographer and e mailed pic to one Jarrod Pawdok on April 26.Have yet to hear back ,this individual is clearly sitting at his desk to collect a paycheck and could care less about the products that customers receive! Go to your local Nursery and choose the plants you want rather than have a laborer choose your plants who is not trained or supervised!Stay away from this Co. pretty pics and that’s all!

Ordered a bare root rose in the winter, and a month later (also in the winter, before orders closed) received an email declaring that the order had been canceled. No explanation, and no instructions on how to get a refund. Very dissatisfied. My family has ordered from Wayside Gardens for two generations. No longer.

I've been purchasing plants from Wayside Gardens for years. They're packed beautifully when they arrive and are in excellent health. We've found the plants from Wayside Gardens have flourished, sometimes better than those purchased locally. I've also had the occasional need to adjust or cancel an order. The customer service is exceptionally responsive and easy to work with. I will be a lifelong customer!

I wish I had looked for reviews prior to purchasing three plants from this company. Before doing so, I emailed to ask if they would be fine in the type of soil I have, facing north, etc. and was told they would do great. $75 and three plants later, one began to turn brown so I emailed customer service. I got a fast reply and was told told to use epsom salt and water once a week for two weeks and to let them know soon how it was working. I have tried to let them know three times and for three weeks now that it did not work and a second one has died and the third one is not doing well either despite making sure they are watered properly. I also asked about the one year warranty that was mentioned when I was told to use the epsom salt. Despite three attempts at responding to the request that I let them know as soon as possible how the plant was doing, I have yet to hear a word. I will not be ordering from here ever again.

Very disappointing experience with Jackson & Perkins nursery (claimed sister of Wayside Gardens and Park Seed). Three plants delivered by mail, not all looking very healthy. Now some weeks later, two of these plants have died and only one is alive and well. This is a tragic situation for someone who claims to have a green thumb. J&P’s customer service people are less than forthcoming. They were confused about who I was and why I was writing to them. I have now given up writing to them and have turned to reviews to try to save others from making the mistake I made in trusting them to deliver heathy plants.

Customer service is not existent! Ordered 4 plants and 2 have died already.I have been trying to get in touch with someone for almost 2 months via email, FB messenger, and google. There has been minimal communication with me. I will not be ordering from this site again

Tiny barefoot Astrancia Sparkling Star for $11.95. Dicentra "Burning Hearts" was also below par for $14.95. I will not patronize this company again. Wish I could post pictures.

terrible service and fraudulent. i ordered in july and after may inquiries, they said they would ship in september. then when end of the month came, they said they didn't have the products. how's that for a later birthday sham. shame on them for accepting orders, then delaying them, then not sending them at all. they should be put out of business. do not purchase from them at all, as you won't get anything! no stars at all!

Don’t buy Incrediball hydrangeas. They have nothing but problems. This company won’t accept any kind of negative review and I can’t believe everyone is happy with this variety or the service this company doesn’t provide. Buy local or Home Depot. Home Depot has shipped beautiful plants to me.

Horrible customer service. Ordered several plants in August; received everything in good condition. Two Wayside ferns did not make it over the winter (while ferns I purchased from my local nursery fared just fine). I've been calling and emailed twice regarding a refund or credit and haven't gotten a response. I also emailed back in April a question about the care of one of the trees I purchased & never got a response. I understand amidst a pandemic services are taking longer than usual, but their failure to even acknowledge my issues is inexcusable.

I will never use this company again. Their product comes horribly packed, extremely sodden and none of the three plants I ordered lived beyond a week of receiving. My other order 6 phlox never came and will not come according to phone attendant. I ordered 4/3 so they had plenty of time to fulfill my order.
