“Just a short drive through the beautiful low country from Charelston brings you to this picturesque working tea farm. There is a complimentary tour through the processing facilty which takes about 15 minutes. The 45 minute trolley tour (fee required) through the farm should not be missed. The driver shares the intersting history of the farm as well as information about tea production that gives new appreciation to popping a teabag into a cup of boiling water.”
“For families staying in the nearby villas, The Sandcastle is a beautiful area for portrait sessions such as families, high-school seniors, engagement photos on Kiawah Island. There are tons of great backdrops offering a wide variety of images. The beach and access points are also really picturesque. As a full-time professional photographer, I highly recommend this area!”
“Ample parking and wide open spaces for most any event. Here for LaCrosse and they brought in food trucks! Just bring your own Canopy/tent. No shade. Coolers allowed.”
“Old Wide Awake was the perfect backdrop and partner for our wedding. Having Margaret as our fearless wedding planner was an added bonus. She was so knowledgeable about the property, and knew how to make every last detail work: from timeline to reception layout, getting ready to guest arrivals, all the way to our departure. All of the staff at OWA were so friendly and easy to work with, and as one of the first weddings under new ownership, it was absolutely seamless. We were so honored to be under their care, and they truly gave us one of the best and most memorable days of our lives. I hope one day we get invited to another OWA wedding just so we get to experience the magic again!”
