This is the first time I have ever stayed at any Hyatt hotel. Can’t say that is was particularly great. Overall the hotel was kinda dinghy. When I first got here, I went to the bathroom only to find that the toilet was out of order. The urinal did work, but ran constantly. Check in was fine. Staff was friendly. The room was basically cleaned, but if you looked even a little your could find stuff that was overlooked (such as “black and curies” behind the toilet and dusty window seals. The room did not have a microwave. Not a show stopper, but an inconvenience when traveling with a teenager. There is a microwave in the bar/restaurant area, but it has been well used. The microwave is missing by the turn table (glass plate) and is overall kinda dirty. The thing that stood out the most about the microwave situation is the counter that it is sitting in. It has a huge crack running through it. The bar was ok. Not much of a selection and WAY OVER PRICED. For just me and a teenager, it met our needs, but I would not bring my wife here.

Me and my family came from California to celebrate Sgt. Major Birthday.
We scheduled are room for 5 days in advance with credit card on file and reservation numbers.
Only to arrive to find out that are rooms have been sold away. They made every excuse.
1.We didn't have reservations.
2. Are name wasn't found.
3.We didn't leave are card on file.
4.Our card didn't clear.
We were also told to stay with other family members who had rooms in the same hotel. Even after calling the US number there was never no resolution.
Manager refused to speak to us and refused us rooms for the remaing days.
Left us out in the cold. There where no available rooms in the city. We ended up staying in Sgt. Majors home in there children's room, after driving around to several hotels that were all full.
The next day we found a one day stay for double the price.
And then transferred to another hotel for two more days which was in a diffrent city all together for triple the price.
Very sad service.
Very sorry pitiful management.
The hist at the desk the second day trying to register was great ran our card to prove it would clear.
And assured us that we had reservation but there where no rooms available. Never stayed there one day. No rooms were ever offered.

Nasty.
The room looked like it had barely been cleaned. The floors had debris all over them. There was an old and moldy plate of food in the cabinet. The towels had stuff on them.
The lobby had such a strong scent flowing through it, I immediately got a headache.
Walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbors beside and above us moving around.
We will NOT be staying here again. We do NOT recommend anyone stay here.

I'm sorry to say this. This was bad hotel. I always have agreat time at the hyatt so I seek them out especially when traveling with my 5 yr old son and wife. This place needs help. My room has dirty footprints all over the floor. The bed has jagged broken metal broken off of the bed frame. The coffe cups have been used and put back with out being washed. The lock on the bathroom door as been broken out.. This is something I'd expect at a motel 6 on N.main . Not a hyatt in Harbison.

I haven’t left a negative review on google, but this was a terrible night at this hotel. We booked a 2 double bed room with a 1 person sofa bed for 5 people (myself, my wife and our 16/12/10 years old children) for the night of a USC football game. We checked in remotely. By the late-night time the game was over and we were able to get to the hotel, keys were given to us by the night manager for a king room that sleeps 3. No apologies were given- we were told that nothing could be done and to speak with the manager in the morning. The night manager also told us to stop complaining to him as it wasn’t his fault, and if we continued to complain, he wouldn’t get us extra blankets or pillows. In the morning, we spoke to the front desk again to point out that 2 people slept on the 1 person sofa bed and a child had to sleep in the ground. Once again, no apologies were given, and we were told we’d have to call the next day to speak to a manager as none are available for the entire weekend. The staff member was then very rude and shouted at my wife in the lobby for asking for an apology. The culture of the staff here is obviously to take no responsibility and admit no fault for mistakes.
I would never stay at this hotel again and advise that others avoid it as well.

Super clean and modern rooms, great breakfast and other amenities. Every staff member we encountered was very courteous and helpful. Highly recommended staying here if you are visiting the Greater Columbia area.

Rooms suck and are not in my opinion Hyatt standards
Rooms: Smelly and look old. Exposed pipes. Rooms look like they have never been dusted and not so clean.

Our room door didn’t even lock. My mom and my 2 yr old daughter arrived before I did and my mom didn’t really notice the door - I arrived around 2am so I wasnt going to rouse everyone and wake the baby - latched the door and hoped for the best.
The concerning part was when we told the front desk attendant the next morning, he literally shrugged his shoulders.
Our room smelled like mildew. There was a huge palmetto bug on the counter that I had to kill.
Overall horrible experience and would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

One of my go-to hotels when I am on that side of Columbia. Always great staff and feel very safe as a solo traveler. Still my go to when I need to be on this side of Columbia.
Rooms: Always clean and comfortable. Great value to have a separate sitting/work space.
Safety: Feel very safe there as a solo traveler.

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever encountered at a hotel. There were 2 very unprofessional gentleman running the front desk. I was kicked out because I asked for a physical print out of my arrival date and departure date for reimbursement purposes. Tony was extremely nasty and rude. I waited until the next morning to ask another associate which she was very polite and helpful. Later that afternoon I returned to the hotel, and showed Tony the printout that I needed to educate him in case he runs into this situation in the future. He immediately got offended and told,” he simply just didn’t want to do it for me.” I responded by saying,” this is a very poor way to treat your customers.” He replied, if you don’t like it you can leave. As a matter a fact you got 15 mins to get out of my hotel. “He called the police and I was escorted out. I wouldn’t want to see anyone to get treated in this manner.

My family and I recently stayed here, and it was a complete nightmare. From the moment I checked in, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful. When I discovered ants crawling all over the walls and sofa-bed where my boys were suppose to sleep in our room, I immediately reported it to the front desk. Instead of a quick resolution, I was met with indifference.
It took about 20mins for someone to come to my room, and even then, they didn't seem to take the issue seriously. They said they would return with spray and never came back. After calling front desk twice, I was put on hold for 20 mins to just be told he's not coming back to do anything.
I expected at least a clean room and decent service, but this experience was far from that after evaluating from a hurricane with nowhere else to go. Save your money and sanity—look for a better hotel!

If zero stars was an option I would have given that rating instead. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I just wanted to warn people. If you have any other option, choose that hotel instead of this one! We were there for a soccer tournament this past weekend and when we checked in we were given the wrong room (there was another person in the lobby that this happened to as well). I reserved a double bed and when we checked in it took her forever to find the reservation first of all and then I paid with my credit card and she gave us the room key. We go up to the room and it was a king bed. So we go back downstairs and let her know and she said she’d look into it. While she was looking into it I found that they overcharged my credit card. I let her know about that and showed her my reservation that had the amount left to pay at checkin, which was about $200-300 less than what she charged me. She said she would let her manager know and he would handle it. She also informed us that they overbooked so the king bed was the only available even though we booked double beds. After assuring me several times the room rate would be fixed and adjusted it still never was. We asked to speak to the manager but he wasn’t there and never showed his face. His name was Tony per the front desk. Our room had ants and the bathroom tub was disgusting and the light switch was hanging out of the wall with the wires exposed! I let the front desk ladies know all of this as well and I even showed pictures. She told me that they would adjust off for that too and for the inconvenience but was always very vague about it. I took pictures of everything for reference. I will be talking to my credit card company, because it’s still not right. Worst stay ever!!!
