I have been taking my baby here for 12 yrs. I have the Banfield wellness plan. I would give them a 4 star. However I did have an additional fur baby and was strong armed by the Wellness plan to the tune of 450 for 1 yr despite having removed him. I verified this policy and told them I was in a financial hard spot due to having a car that was a lemon at the time. They were unmoved. I even tried speaking to a manager 2 to 3xs. No deduction or adjustment was given. I was told it was 'corporate policy'. So, I wasn't pleased with this so called 'corporate policy'. To my understanding there was a recent acquisition, and the customer service has declined after CO vid. Like many things, it is mediocre. I prefer to go to Petco for anal gland expression. But, the grooming was above average at the beginning of the year with a coupon.

Multiple problems with my visit. I took my newly rescued kitten to the vet and for a general check up and an eye screen. They claim that first exam is free. Now makes sense why, because there is no exam! Paid $150 for an eye screen. They missed my cat having missing patches of hair and ringworm which my whole family ended up getting as well as worms. She is now in quarantine and doing better. Save your money and pass on this place.

Have taken my two dogs here for the past several years. Always friendly and take the time to discuss treatment options. Have both dogs on the Optimum Wellness plans.

Whatever you do, do not waste your money on the optimum wellness plan. This is a scam, I have paid double what I should for standard service and canceling the plan is a nightmare to deal with

Waiting to check in and check out takes so long. Can never get anyone on the phone and there’s no consistency with staff

I recently visited Banfield in Lexington, SC on Sunset Blvd. I was there with my dog, for a new puppy visit. I have used Banfield as my primary Vet for over 10 years with previous animals. This particular visit, I explained to the Vet Tech Destiny that I did not want all the puppy vaccines at this time and that I ONLY wanted the Rabies and Parvo vaccines. She assured me that it was ok, and they would do just those two. She did inform me of the other vaccines and I told her that I would consider it at a later time. Dr. Elizabeth Lemley and Sasha came in and Destiny explained to both of them, that at this time I only wanted my dog to get the Rabies and Parvo vaccines. She said ok. The Dr proceeded to give her what I thought were the Rabies and Parvo vaccines. It wasn't until after my vaccine card was filled out, that I saw that the Dr. gave her vaccines that I DID NOT WANT. After bringing it to their attention, Dr. Lemley was very rude and unapologetic as I was trying to communicate my concerns to her. I have never been treated the way Dr. Lemley treated me and my dog.

These people don’t care about your pets. I’ve had the wellness plan with them since September 2022 and I’ve called 3 times Bc I've gotten scared, my dog was shaking non stop one time, throwing up, and she’s still a puppy (4 months) and they will say “well we’re too busy today, take her to a pet hospital.” How rude! And they never answer the phone. Lazy people and overall mediocre service.

I've been taking my two chihuahuas here for two Years. My oldest has a lump in his front leg and needed to be aspirated and sent to lab for evaluation. That was Oct 11th. I called one week later , test esults were not back. So I waited another week. I called them no one answered so I left a message. Calls madeOct 19,23,29,31,Nov 12, six times today Nov. 19th.Finally today at 4:54pm. I call them and they tell me the vet will call me Monday. I paid $167 for this test .With no communication on banfields part. There is absolutely no reason for this.

Banfield is affordable and convenient, their staff are friendly, and their vets do a good job of explaining the treatment received. That's all the nice things I have to say.As a cat owner they have consistently recommend that I drug my cats at a shocking $12/dose just so they can manage them. I once picked up my cat, who is admittedly timid, and she was crammed into a tiny cage above a giant, barking dog, and they had the audacity to claim that she's aggressive (no kidding, she's frightened half to death). I can understand the policy of drugging timid cats, but it is definitely not the type of care that I expect from an experienced veterinarian. After 3 loyal years, I will be looking for a vets office that can handle cats without having to resort to drugs. I think the drop-off policy is part of the problem.

Trey was working by himself and was very friendly and accommodating to all! I came back to pick up my dogs several hours later and he was still very upbeat and friendly even though he had been working alone all day. Definitely a great employee and an asset to the store! He made my day!

Such an awful experience today. Estefania was working the front desk and provided such a horrible experience. I have a 70lb Weimaraner who gets very anxious. I had to wait 10 mins standing at the counter while she played on the computer. Then was asked to sign a form and answer so many questions while trying to control my very anxious pup. She was so worried about me signing some form that could have been done after. It took 30 minutes as she asked me questions that are all on his file. What’s the point of the file if you’re going to ask me the questions anyways like what heartworm he is on and food he eats. She is constantly running back and forth to the back and does not know what’s going on. Even asked if he had an appointment when his name is on the board. Then I get the call to pick him up showed up about 45 mins later and was told by her he’s not ready yet. I am an optimum wellness member and have never been so stressed at an appointment. The vets and nurses are amazing but will not be a returning customer if she is working the front desk. So stressful for me and my pup.

UPDATE: Banfield just gave me a call back while I was in a meeting offering me July 8th. I appreciate the assertiveness to resolve the issue.I scheduled my dogs neutering a month ago and get a call at the end of this past week stating that it must be rescheduled with dates offered to me. I call back on Monday and they have already given away the appointments that they offered me after it being their fault for double booking the original neutering date so now I either have to cancel my 4th of July plans and get it done then OR wait another whole month.I work in client service and to me it is about my clients feeling important and satisfied with their experience and I feel neither.

This practice was once a really great place for pet care. That has changed. It's clear this is a corporate owned practice. There isn't a consistent Doctor there. As long as your pet is healthy, things are adequate. Since I've had a few health concerns with both of my dogs it's become apparent that this is not a great place for my dogs health care. I've been loyal to Banfield for many years and never scene such a lack of service. If they would answer their phone it would be a good start. Also, reading notes from previous temporary Vet would help. Seems I have to remind them why I am there for a follow up visit they requested. Nice people, just a poorly run business and I need more for my pets.
