“I have been both a physical therapy patient and a gym member for over four years. This is a happy place for me! The staff, other patients, and gym members have become my extended family.First and foremost, this is a very professional organization. The staff is highly qualified and skilled in their profession. They regularly review patient plans and ongoing treatment and adjust if necessary. They listen carefully to your needs and requirements and are flexible in helping you achieve your desired outcome. You’ll find the gym well furnished with professional grade machines and equipment for all levels of training and therapy requirements. Certified trainers and coaches are available if you want an extra level of support. Safety is always a top priority! Here is my story:Doctor Haught and the entire team at The Human Performance & Wellness Center saved my life!In late winter of 2020, I had severe neck and lower back pain. After a visit to an orthopedic surgeon, X-Rays, and an MRI, the doctors told me I would need multiple surgeries. They told me that it is likely the first surgery in both the neck and back would be unsuccessful and that it may lead to second interventions. However, the surgeons said my insurance company required I first get physical therapy before they would cover any surgery. After seeking referrals for PT, several people directed me to The Human Performance & Wellness Center. What a stroke of luck!Dr. Haught reviewed my MRI and did a comprehensive evaluation. I went for PT twice a week and began exercises at home. After a few short weeks the neck and back pains were gone. I never saw the surgeon again! In the spring of 2021, my urologist diagnosed me with advanced prostate cancer. The prognosis was not encouraging, and my urologist said I needed immediate and aggressive treatments. High levels of radiation and medications followed.I have responded so well to my cancer treatments that the doctors have revised my prognosis. I have passed the three-year life expectancy the doctors originally gave me, and I am eternally grateful! I will be seventy-nine years old in a few months and look forward to many more years of a productive, healthy life.Had I gone through neck and back surgeries, I firmly believe my body would not have been capable of successfully dealing with my cancer treatments and the outcome would have been different.Yes, I believe Dr. Haught, and the team did not just improve the quality of my life, they saved it! So, I continue to receive therapy and exercising at the gym keeps me tuned up.Peter Altieri”

“I see a lot of negative reviews on here, but my experience has been quite the opposite. It’s an older building with older equipment, but I’m basically just there for the free weights, which they have plenty of! They also have a lot of machines (while looking outdated) that seem to work just as well as shiny new equipment. My favorite thing about this gym, compared to other gyms, is that it’s nearly empty for after work hours (most of their clientele seem to be retired folk that workout in the mornings and mid-day). Locker room is big enough, although I wish the bathroom floors weren’t always wet. I have never used the pools. Also, a nice little plus is that they have a boxing room with 3 bags, which I enjoy to mix up my workout.Overall, I like the older nostalgic feel to the gym and would recommend it to anyone as it’s suitable to any age or fitness level. In fact, I often recommend it to my patients in the area.”
