I am done with O'Reilly Auto Parts too!
After paying for a jump start today, I immediately drove to O'Reilly's in Little River. I went in to the store and told the attendant that I needed a new battery. I knew that the battery in my car was at least six years old.
The attendant brought his battery tester out to my car, connected cables to my battery and proceeded to push a lot of buttons without communicating. He then stopped and told me "There's part of your problem," pointing to the negative terminal of the battery. He told me the cable was so loose that he could not get any reading on the status of my battery. He made no attempt to remove the "loose connector" and attach his diagnositic equipment to the terminal itself.
He told me to start my car. It started immediately. He then told me to go home and clean my battery terminals and the connections, then reattach them so that they are tight. He told me that that the battery in his vehicle has a battery that is seven years old and healthy.
He told me "You have a good battery." This seems like a strange thing to tell a customer when just moments earlier he told me that because of the "loose connection" he could not get any reading on my battery.
I then departed and went to my local (non-chain) garage. They diagnosed, and told me that I had a bad cell in my battery, and replaced it.
I took this as a sign to never use O'Reilly again. They didn't even want to make the sale of a battery today. Are they realizing that their batteries are inferior?
When I had my previous vehicle, I purchased a battery from O'Reilly with a three year warranty. It died after two years, and I got a free replacement. Not long after this, I sold the vehicle, so I do not know how long that battery would last. In contrast to my experience today, the service was excellent five years ago. Today, I realize that not only are O'Reilly products substandard, but their level of customer service has astoundingly diminished.

I ordered a water pump through O'Reilly's Little River. Installed it and filled the system with coolant. Coolant leaked from the water pump. There was no gasket or sealant on the water pump back plate. When O'Reilly's was told of this they said we're sorry. Meanwhile I had to take the water pump back out and seal the water pump back plate. Needless to say I am really displeased with the treatment I received after being a loyal customer for awhile.

Went in to get wiper blades. They had broad selection for my 2005 Toyota Avalon ranging in price from $26 - $45. I told the clerk I heard O'REILLY would install them at no additional cost. He said "not all makes and models". I asked him if he could give mine a shot. Hestruggled with the first one but moved more confidentially on the second one. All in all I gave him high marks because he stuck with it even though at the beginning he seemed a little reluctant.

I was sent to O'Reilly specifically for a particular battery. Not only did they have it in stock, but Daniel changed it out for me and I was home within an hour. Fantastic place, great, friendly service. I'm a loyal customer now!!

Horrible workers. Asked for the guy to look up a bearing. Gave him the od,id,width. It was an imperial sized bearing. The guy at the counter asked me what kind of "metric" numbers are these.... 1 3/8od, 7/8id, 3/16width. Where do they find these people... went to there competition and the man handed my the bearings I needed.

Daniel is such a bright and outstanding employee. He was so helpful while I was in the store. O’Reilly’s should be super proud to have him representing their company.
