Huge shoutout to the bakery at the Walmart in Manning. Helped us with the cutest smash cake and cupcakes for our big one year old. 💙 and got it done for us quickly!

My first visit here I went to the deli to get sandwich stuff... The woman behind the counter WAS NOT very helpful. She hands me the first thing I ask for and doesn't bother to ask what else I want before talking to the next person. I'm still standing there watching this... The other woman wanted chicken and the person behind the counter was all "Oh, well that's going to be like 20 minutes because I have to go get it, come back and prep it and make it"... Then she sees me and says "you want something else" I said yes and she's all "Oh man, well that means that chicken is going to be longer now that I have to help her"... Really? WTH? So it's my fault that you didn't even finish with me first? I said the hell with it and walked away, told her to help the other person. THIS IS YOUR JOB, if you don't like it... Go find another one. Disgusting. The rest of the place is clean and has a decent selection... Check out usually seems to take to long. I'm not impressed with any of it...

Best grocery store in Sumter!!! Clean, great produce and meat selection, and deli/bakery is nice too! Yes, it's a little more pricey than other stores in town, but worth it in my opinion.

Best grocery store in town but can't beat a Publix!

Better choice then the piggly wiggly down the road because of the variety but is a little more expensive

The prices at Bi-Lo are probably 15% higher than they are anywhere else in Sumter. Couple that with the fact that they're nearly all the way out in South Sumter and it's no wonder that the place is usually empty. We usually stick with Food Lion or Walmart for shelved and cooled/frozen goods but if we're in the mood for some produce then we'll make the drive out and pay the extra costs for the freshest in town. As a side note, there is a new Super Bi-Lo in Sandhills and it's amazing. There's also a Publix in West Cola and we've made that drive (55-60 minutes) a few times just for produce and their bakery (while SB-L has a better section for cheese and wine).

Hands down, this is the nicest grocery store in Sumter. Now, if you come from a large city, it's just average. But for Sumter, it's the only store with a sit in deli. Selection is much broader than the competing Food Lion's and Piggly Wiggly's, especially in the seafood department, which carries several varieties of sushi. Until Sumter receives a Publix (never), this is your best bet.
