Sparky's is a family friendly tourist stop and country store located on Highway 501, the main thoroughfare to and from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It opened in 1990 and is considered a must-stop roadside attraction. The store offers a very large selection of unique items and souvenirs, including all kinds of pecans covered in chocolate, honey crusted, or salted. They also have fireworks, candy, elderberry jam, and hermit crabs with all necessary supplies. Visitors can find delicious ice cream, unreal onion rings, and other real food, though some note there is no barbecue despite advertising. It is a perfect place to fill up on gas, drop off, and pick up snacks in a friendly atmosphere with very clean restrooms. Many recommend it as a quick grab or a fun place to walk around and see everything on the way to or from the beach.
