Stumbled across this mom and pop diner on our way to Charleston if your not looking for it you might miss it but oh my the food and the service are excellent and the atmosphere in the diner brings you back to when times were easier. If you find yourself off the beaten path this is the place to get

Seriously one of the BEST little hidden gems in McClellanville off of Hwy 17. From breakfast to lunch and a great dinner on Fridays! There’s so much to enjoy and everything is absolutely delicious as well as some of the friendliest staff you’ll ever come across! Definitely worth stopping in and then coming back!! ???Kid-friendliness: So kind and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable with bringing young kids!

The food is absolutely great! We got the Shrimp Creole and Cajun Combo. We inhaled our food. Collards are not vinegary. I really love the old school feel of this place.

If you are looking for a fancy restaurant…not here folks. If you want to experience Americana at its best, here is your placeExcellent home style breakfast. Coffee was a little weak for my taste, but that’s just personal preference.I’d eat here everyday if I lived locallySouthern country atmosphere. Loved it!

What a little slice of Americana this place is!I was driving north on Hwy 17 out of Charleston, hungry, and stumbled on this roadside diner not far up the road from beautiful Hampton Plantation. I’m sure glad I did. I was immediately greeted by a friendly hostess, and realized I was just about the only one there who wasn’t a regular. Enjoyed a delicious cup of she crab soup (and what visit to South Carolina is complete without that?) followed by an oyster po boy, topping it all off with a delectable bowl of banana pudding. With that, I was satisfied and back on the road. I strongly recommend the McClellanville Diner to anyone in the area.

This place is full of small town locals and folks from the surrounding forest, including local firemen and deputies. My wife and I drive here about once a month from Charleston, a forty minute drive, because this place has some of the best fried shrimp and oysters in the region, fresh from McClellanville watermen. Also typical southern country cooking like my grandmother's used to make. Well worth a visit.

Have driven by this restaurant many times. Today was my first stop. Got the fried chicken breast, collards, mac&cheese. Being a born and bred southern boy I can say this is the real deal and excellent. The service was very friendly and attentive during the entire time. Typically would go to T W Grahams but this may have it beat. Can’t wait to go back.

I just happened to come across this small diner in McClellanville, and I'm so pleased I did because the food was FAN-TASTIC!I started with a cup of she-crab soup, which I'd never had before. So flavorful! Then we proceeded to the blackened mahi, rice and gravy, and collards. To die for! Finally, for dessert I had a piece of "pig-kickin' cake", which had a pineapple and orange frosting, I believe it was. All this with generous refills on the sweet iced tea!The staff is also super-friendly and polite. If you're in Charleston or anywhere within reasonable driving distance of this place, I highly suggest you visit!

It's a little old house that they turned into a restaurant. Awesome food! I love their grits and eggs!

This is America. A small family restaurant with table service or take out. The place is not 5 star dining if you are after fancy. This is 5 star if you are looking for local, friendly, courteous with a welcoming atmosphere and not bad food. I had the Local shrimp and Grits. Delicious and local shrimp. Not Chinese or Vietnamese shrimp like you get elsewhere. Highly recommended
