I dropped by Chehaw River Woodworks in search of a material I needed for a small project I was doing and couldn’t find it anywhere. I walked into the shop area and met John Shafer, who was working on a piece of furniture. He stop and greeted me like a long lost friend. I asked if he had any ideas who in the Charleston area might have the material I was looking for and he said, me! He pulled open a drawer that had just want I needed. You can bet I will be using Chehaw in the future for my restoration projects, with great folks like John working there!All the best. Jimmy Long

Chehaw River Woodworks did an exceptional job refinishing an antique dining table for us. It was very easy to obtain an quote and they refinished our table and delivered it ahead of schedule. Highly recommend and would definitely use them again!

Chehaw River Woodworks restored our kitchen table and chairs! We undertook a major renovation in our home, and decided to turn our 20+ year old table and chairs over to Chehaw River Woodworks (first 2 pics). We have used them before and they have always done an amazing job with our 125 + year old antiques (last 5 pics)! Tracey and her crew are very professional and always provide a great customer experience! John met with me personally at their shop to ensure I was happy with the new stain. After many years of use and several years in storage our table had been severely scratched and worn. I was ready to throw it out but we shared so many family memories at this table that I wanted to find a way to at least make it presentable. Luckily we found Chehaw River. They took our disaster of a table and made it like new!!! I couldn't believe how they managed to restore it. Their work is unbelievable!!! Not to mention the friendly and very professional people that work there. Truly "salt of the earth". I HIGHLY recommend them!!

To drive into this workshop is to step back in time, to an era when craftspeople worked with skill and attention to detail. The Crew at Cheehaw have been repairing furniture for our personal use and our clientele for twenty years with the utmost care. This year we asked them to custom make a farm style table for us out of Alder wood. John created an heirloom for us that is not just functional, it is beautiful and has a finish that will endure the test of time. What sets them apart from the competition is that they seem to love their craft, take immense pride in the result and actually show excitement about each project. There service goes far beyond the norm. I feel like I am part of their family! This is the place where you can get exceptional results with a very fair price.

Chehaw River did a beautiful job restoring my buffet. I am amazed at the craftsmanship by all of the men involved in the restoration. I had no idea that it could restored to this level. The piece was not in direct light although it appears that way. So pleased with the professionalism throughout the process.

Over the years I have had a number of things restored or repaired here and have always been pleased, but none have wowed me like the table I picked up yesterday. It is absolutely amazing in every way and more beautiful than I ever could have imagined it could be.
