All sales are final, store credit only policy... If you can't afford to run a business the American way, you should choose a different investment. And sales associates should learn some manners. Won't be shopping there again.

Pathetic customer service, we were completely ignored by the many sales associates working. Blatant age discrimination. Why on earth would we be in your store if we couldn’t afford it? Y’all suck.

Staff is very dismissive. Obviously they try and cater to the high-end Mt. Pleasant buyers. Ironically, the employees probably drive in from North Charleston yet believe themselves to be a rung above even those MP shoppers. Maybe take the attitude down a notch and help the customer find what they are looking for, since you are paid to do exactly that.

I bought 2 cream colored sofas and was told they had "performance" fabric on them. I wanted performance fabric for we have pets and children. I have 2 chairs with this type of fabric and any spot can EASILY be removed by a little soap and water. The sofas get a spot on them and DO NOT come off at all!!! Don't buy their so called sofas with "performance" fabric on them unless they can guarantee it!!!! Very disappointed and feel mislead!!

Lots of options, the store is very big and things are well displayed. But everything seemed very pricey!

Quality is ok, but not for the price. No returns for anything in the store. Difficult to buy art here. Staff isn’t as helpful as other furnishing stores, staff can be dismissive. With that being said, I browse here often. I don’t rate it as high as other boutiques.

Definitely a more high end store, but very good quality furniture and helpful salespeople.

Have purchased multiple times from SSL. The current level of demand makes selling easy, and SSL policies take advantage of the atmosphere. When times turn, maybe the store will reconsider accommodating home test of items—GDC, which has weathered a few tough times, does give customers this service. We’ll continue to buy at SSL, just not as much as at GDC.After Paul’s response, I must disagree. We brought upholstered chairs after bringing them home for a trial in March of 2020. But I will stop by and see if we can try out the leather swivel chairs in our house.

Such a great place to wander and get ideas. Treasures both large and small. One more star if only the busy team behind the registers would come on out and offer help to us wanderers!

I have only had good experiences at this store. We bought dining chairs that are beautiful and reasonably priced. They have some really unique, beautiful furniture. Some things are a little expensive and there are some items that they don't have the option to order more of, which can be a bummer. Is the service as good as places like Ethan Allen? Maybe not but the prices reflect that. I'd definitely recommend Steven Shell when furniture shopping. Also, they do have sales so keep an eye out for that.

Terrible customer service today ... the staff was in a hurry to leave but 4 ladies had nothing to do. I have Shopped here since the day they opened & have reccommended to many. I was allowed to take a coffee table on consignment for review at home. I've done this many times in this store. Today there was a different policy ... the one I wanted to take was too expensive, ( same price as the first one that was approved). Then the story changed to no it's too heavy & could break ( isn't that why they take my credit card?). Finally I realized the girl was just making it up as she went along ... So I left with NO coffee table & a bad taste in my mouth. Have to think this is NOT how Steven Shell wants customers treated. I understand how busy retail is right now , most businesses have too few employees so service is limited . This was the flip side of that ... I was the only customer in the store & the staff was chilling behind the register and I STILL RECEIVED TERRIBLE SERVICE. I have to laugh . As they say " they're making those things everyday," So I'll stick with Celadon and GDC ... good local companies..plus they have 14 day return policy.

We have purchased several pieces of furniture from Steven Shell while renovating our beach house. The first time we went in, customer service was not great, but we still purchased the furniture because we found what we needed. We went in today and had an awful experience. We walked back to the area where the sale is, and accidentally walked into the area where they hold the sold furniture. Instead of kindly letting us know we were in the wrong area, one lady came running to the back and yelled at us that we were not allowed back there and needed to get out. There were no signs saying it was an employee area only. After we left that area, another associate followed us around the rest of the time we were in the store. Meanwhile there were children running around the store jumping all over the furniture. Nothing was said about that.We purchased the few small items we had in our hands and left. We will not be returning.
