Really nice course that has multiple holes that are very challenging. Nice clubhouse, great staff, and beautiful scenery’

★☆☆☆☆ Great course and friendly front staff, but a condescending ranger ruined our visit.
We booked 18 holes for 6 guys to tee off around 2:30 pm on 11/7/25 on our Myrtle Beach boys’ trip, choosing this course because of how “nice” it was supposed to be. Shortly before arrival we were told they close at 5:30 pm, so our 18 would be cut to 9. Frustrating, but we accepted it and still checked in. The cart/bag attendant was excellent, the front desk was friendly, we paid for our tee times, and headed out.
The issue started on the green of hole 1. A course ranger rolled up and immediately barked that we couldn’t play as a six and had to split, threatening to shut off our carts so we’d have to walk back. He added, “I don’t care what you were told,” and “I don’t know where you play, but that’s not how things work around here.” The tone was condescending, like he was talking down to us, despite us being paying customers who were just trying to enjoy a quick 9. For the record, we were not falling behind—we were maintaining pace, and a group was right behind us without an issue. Pace wasn’t the problem; attitude was. Had he spoken respectfully, we would’ve split without an issue.
As he left, he kept grumbling and making a scene under his breath—throwing a little fit while we stood there in disbelief. Shortly thereafter, the beverage cart attendant came by, and she was amazing—she apologized for what happened and treated us with the professionalism we expected from the start. The course itself was in good shape, and most of the staff we met were great.
Management, here’s how to fix this:
1. Don’t schedule 18-hole tee times around 2:30 pm if you close at 5:30 pm. Publish clear last-18 and last-9 start times and honor them.
2. Communicate the no-sixsome policy at booking and again at check-in so guests aren’t blindsided on the first green.
3. Train rangers to enforce rules with basic respect. There’s a right way to deliver a message; threats and condescension aren’t it.
Bottom line: nice course and friendly front-of-house, but one ranger’s aggressive, dismissive approach soured an out-of-state trip we were excited about. We won’t be back.

We played on November 7th, 2025, with a group of six. We even called ahead to confirm it would be fine to play together, and were told it was no problem.
Unfortunately, all of that got overshadowed by one thing: the attitude of the ranger.
From the start, his tone and behavior were unnecessarily aggressive. Instead of offering helpful guidance or maintaining the flow of play like a good ranger should, he seemed to go out of his way to be rude and confrontational. He barked orders at us, talked down to us, and carried himself like he was looking for an argument.
It’s one thing to enforce pace of play, but it’s another to treat paying guests with complete disrespect. (Also, please check your records- our group was at least 15 minutes ahead of pace play) I was especially disappointed because I am a local resident and am the one who recommended Blackmoor to my five friends visiting from out of town. We were all looking forward to a great day, and instead left frustrated from this very poor experience. For the price you pay to play here, you’d expect a basic level of courtesy and professionalism.
Blackmoor really needs to address the behavior of the ranger that was working on the afternoon of November 7th, 2025. The ranger’s behavior was completely out of line and left a lasting negative impression on all of us. Until that’s addressed, I can’t recommend this course to anyone looking for a pleasant or welcoming golf experience. There are way too many other nearby courses that treat golfers with respect—and that’s where I’ll be spending my time and money from now on.

I really wanted to like Blackmoor Golf Course. The layout is decent, the fairways and greens are in fair shape, and it has the potential to be an enjoyable round. We played on November 7th, 2025 we had a group of 6 and called ahead to play together. Said we should be fine.
He spoke down to players, barked orders, and carried himself like he was looking for an argument. Golf is supposed to be relaxing — not a battle of patience with an angry staff member.
It’s one thing to enforce pace of play, but it’s another to treat paying guests with complete disrespect. Everyone in our group left irritated, which is the opposite of what a day on the course should feel like. For what you pay to play here, you’d expect basic professionalism and some courtesy, not an attitude that ruins the round for everyone.
Blackmoor really needs to take a hard look at how their staff interacts with players. The ranger’s behavior was completely out of line and reflected poorly on the entire facility. Until that’s addressed, I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone looking for a pleasant or welcoming experience. There are plenty of other nearby courses that treat golfers with respect — and that’s where I’ll be spending my time and money from now on.

My group recently played at The Blackmoor Golf Course, and it was one of the most frustrating golf experiences I’ve had in years. We booked a tee time for 18 holes with 6 players — the booking system allowed it without any warning or restrictions. When we arrived, the staff at the clubhouse casually informed us that we’d only be allowed to play 9 holes, with no apology or explanation.
Still trying to make the best of it, we teed off on hole 1. After we’d already started, the marshal drove out and confronted us in an incredibly rude and unprofessional manner, telling us we couldn’t play as a group of 6. He didn’t care that the clubhouse staff had approved the booking and gave us no prior notice of this “rule.” To make things worse, he threatened to turn off our golf carts electronically if he saw us playing together again — a completely unnecessary and hostile approach.
The whole experience left a terrible impression. Instead of addressing their own scheduling mistake or showing any courtesy to paying customers, the staff chose to talk down to us and make the round uncomfortable. Poor communication, zero customer service, and a serious attitude problem from the staff.
I would not recommend The Blackmoor to anyone looking for a friendly or professional golf experience. There are plenty of other courses in the area that treat their players with respect and communicate their policies clearly.

The greens were awesome. Fairways were over seeded but still good. The tee boxes brought the score down & weren't up to the condition of the rest of the course. The staff was very friendly & helpful.

I made t time thru golf app and when we arrived at course we were informed they over seeded fairways and it was cart path only. Went into the pro shop and asked if my husband could get handicap flag he can’t walk course they said no. I said well can we get a refund, I believe it was a manager who said no you get a rain check. I informed him we were on vacation and had no plans of returning any time soon. He didn’t care. Said I’ll give you a rain check and that was it. He was not very pleasant. This was not our fault that they over seeded. We met our part of the bargain and showed up for golf. This was totally unfair that they would not refund our money. Very Poor management.

A solid experience. While the course was in good shape, not great, we thought the value was there for our 2 rounds. The staff was first rate, though, and kept the rounds moving. Great attitude by all.

Played a round here with my two sons while on vacation. We traveled with 2 sets but they made us rent a 3rd with 3 players. Not thrilled but I get it. Course was in so so shape - grounds crew wouldn’t move when you were hitting and old “members” behind us were rude and annoying the entire round. Played from the senior tees and were bothered that we had a wait in front of us on each hole. Nothing we could do to speed up a 5 hour round. Lots of courses to play down here, won’t be coming back here.

Course was in bad shape. Not worth the $70 at all. Employees were rude. 8 of us total that played/we combined 3 of our 8 bags because we were all traveling & 3 of our newer players are still only using a couple of clubs. The guy (prior to the starter) threw a temper tantrum as if it was the end of the world & we’d slow people down. We finished 9+ minutes ahead of pace. Well over $700 spent by my group for someone to yell at us like we’re children.

Interesting layout, quite a few doglegs, greens in good shape, pace of play reasonable.
