Absolutely 5 stars because of the Blackmoor staff. Mr. John E. the ranger was the best employee we encountered, but Sydney was nice, too. Cart crew is friendly also. There is a need for additional beverage carts out in the sun IMO. Great driving range, par 72, challenging but not frustrating. We really enjoy this Gary Player designed course; great layout and greens. They are doing improvements at Blackmoor and we can't wait to return and see the completed results. Nice clubhouse with a decent bar and grill; only wish they had more offerings. Pro shop is ok. Ranger John deserves an award for his kindness and patience out on the course. THANK YOU! Also: Blackmoor cart paths are phenomenal and blow the ones at TPC away. Do yourself a favor and book a tee time at Blackmoor!

Played Friday the corse nice layout, however pro and assistant pro ( we were told he was) was a rude SOB. We questioned one little thing, he was yelling and freaking out! Be quiet as a mouse around the staff. They are RUDE!!

Just played Blackmoor yesterday and it was in terrible condition. After the year of work they have been doing it hasn't gotten any better. The fairways are not a lung green do you are hitting off mud or brown grass. The greens aren't better either! One of the greens had a line of sand running through it. Everything was muddy and we haven't had rain. With the amount of money we pay as locals Blackmoor should be ashamed of themselves. Get your act and your course !together!

Decent course with nice greens. Cart paths need work, especially on the front 9. Staff seemed bothered to wait on you in the pro shop. People cut in on the back 9 and used it like their own practice course. Generally good pace of play, despite that. Website doesn't say that there is food, but you can get food here. Would recommend other courses. Cheaper, nicer staff and better draining fairways

In town visiting for the week and couldn’t be happier with the conditions of the course! I played a day where it rained heavily the day prior and the morning of, and I was happily surprised with the drainage and course conditions. The greens and tee boxes were in excellent shape, and pace of play had me through my round much earlier than expected. I’ll definitely be coming back for a round in the future!

Have played Blackmoor twice and each visit has been better than the last. Today the teaching pro joined our group and offered many valuable tips to the 3 in my group. All employees are extremely friendly and very personable. The course is challenging but very fair and inviting, I would highly recommend this course when you are in the Myrtle Beach area!

Nice course with lots of doglegs. I was torn between a 3 or 4 star but decided on the 4 because the greens were way too nice for a 3. The course was saturated though, even though there has been no rain for a while. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Played the course today, October 25, 2023. The starter told us on the first tee that it was cartpath only because they just over seeded. Fast forward to when we are making the turn and he stops us and gives us grief because we’re a few minutes behind schedule. I told him, what do you expect since you made us stay on the cart path and he just shrugged his shoulders and told us to speed up. I enjoyed the course, but I will never step foot on that property again with jackass’ like that that who work there.

The course has been undergoing drainage renovations. Landed in Myrtle Beach last Sunday to torrential rain. It rained heavily from 3pm-9pm. Golfed the next day at Blackmoor around noon and the course seemed to absorb the excess water rather well, because the next day we played at River Oaks and the course was a mud slide.I will say the starter paired dad and I with two strangers who were in their 80s. We had to call it quits after 13 holes because at that point, we were already pushing 4 hours. Starter was very, very nice, but I don’t understand why he paired us with two men and their wives. He could have send dad and I off as a 2-some and let them follow behind. Nonetheless, I get it.Blackmoor might not be in the greatest shape right now, but I can assure all that when the renovations are complete, this is going to be a great course. I’ve played here for years now and it’s always been great. I highly recommend.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Carts have GPS and Bluetooth. Greens and fairways both in very good condition, with on-going course maintenance very evident. A fun, friendly course, especially if you like dog-leg right!
