The food was delicious. I didn’t taste one bad thing and my family of 7 would agree. The service was quick and friendly. Only thing I’d probably recommend is that they update their interior. However and honestly the place was still clean, service quick and the food was delicious. I’m going back before I leave SC.

The customer service was okay. Though cooked right, the cabbage had too much black pepper and the greens bland. The fried chicken, yams, and whiting fish was cooked & seasoned perfectly! The tea is perfect as well. Sweet but not too sweet. The mac & cheese and fried okra was good. Both were cooked well but cooled down fast due to the central air. The air felt great but was too cold for dining in.

The fried chicken and yams were excellent. The mac&cheese was alright. Cabbage was too peppery for my liking

Went here for the first time for lunch and it was so good I went back the same day for dinner LOL. Vegetarian friendly: “no vegetables prepared with pork” stated on their menu ?Delicious, flavorful, and SOULful.Vegetarian options: Unlike a lot of southern or soul food places, the vegetables are not prepared with pork or meat products!!

I purposely waited until I tried Maryland’s fried chicken dinner to review Big Mikes. GLAD I DID! Big Mike’s run circles around the famous Maryland’s Fried Chicken. To begin with the chicken was piping hot, the sides were homemade, and the cornbread muffin not roll made it all feel like Sunday dinner time. I had yams, Mac & Cheese, and Rice & Gravy. The yams were the star next to the fried chicken. I wished I’d tried the greens but I was uncertain about how it’d taste since I didn’t read many reviews about them. We also had fried bologna sandwiches to go and they were thick & burnt to my liking. Only one thing-it was served on a bun, wished I’d had some slice bread. Either way, the bologna itself was pretty close to my childhood as well. Overall, the food definitely worth the wait. The service was slower than I’d hoped but then again they were busy serving groups of 4 or more at a time.Oh wait!! Let’s not forget the ever-so-delicious sweet koolaid. Just like my childhood memories.Parking: Parking was a little rough. They were busy so the lot was pretty packed.

New to Myrtle Beach, we ran across this place on Google and all of the reviews were good so we decided to try it out. Being African American, we pulled up and seen many more African Americans inside and hanging out overall, so we thought; the food must be great!Well we spent $70 and got a few lil Mikes & a big Mike plate & a chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken sandwich was literally a chicken breast on white bread with lettuce & everything was literally terrible. We had a great mix of cabbage, baked Mac & cheese, collard greens, and candied yams. NOTHING had any flavor like none at all! No seasoning, whatsoever. The fries were super dry as well. Now the catfish wasn’t super terrible but definitely could’ve been better. It was $1.50 more which wasn’t stated on the menu or stated in general when ordering. It was on the receipt as an extra charge. We were totally disappointed. Will not ever recommend or come back.

Sorry to say for the rest of MB, this was the best food we had all week while visiting. Better than Paula Dean for 1/3rd the price. My only regret was that we didn't eat more meals there.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. This nonchalant joint might make you think twice, but don't. Just drop everything and come here. There's a reason it's called soul food. It hits you right in the cockles of your soul.Gumbo like I was back in NOLA. Fried chicken like you never had. And lordy me don't sleep on the fried pork chops. Not to mention the sides and the warm peach cobbler!!Damn too much to mention. Just go. You won't be sorry!!
