Absolutely worst back to have a loan with when I open up my auto loan with them I picked to have this debt protection the following month a decided I wanted to take it off my loan to save 20 bucks a month but when I called customer service was told I had to keep it on and it keep be removed…. The month after that was told the same thing….. finally after the 4 month of calling a was then told by someone that it can be removed and she was remove it for me and will handle it so I was happy but then that month I noticed I was charged the 20 bucks and it was never removed so now when I called about it I was told I had to sign something for it customer service sucks the bank sucks happy to say I just paid the loan off so I can be done with this bank and my next loan will be with a different bank…. They gave me the run around for months and just was lying to me so they can charge me the 20 bucks every month… if I could I would give zero stars

The Holmes town branch of this bank is absolute trash. They have messed up so many of my transactions and asked me to forgive them for their incompetence too many times. Pick any bank but this one they don’t care about your funds.

Carolina trust is a great bank to do business with. I went in for a loan talked with Brian Dugan over at Homestown Road and he was awesome. He was able to Worked out a loan for me so I could buy a new car. I went to the dealership which is in Conway to check out another Vehicle due to the one that I wanted was sold. Brian prepared everything for me and when I called him told him the Kia was a go. Brian told me I did not have to go all the way back to Holmestown Road and he would have Hazel get the check Ready. So I went to 21st Ave which saved me time to have to go all the way back to Holmes town Road. We finished up all the paperwork and I took the check over to the dealership. This Bank is always friendly courteous and very helpful. And it doesn’t matter which branch you go into they’re all great. Thank you Brian Dugan and Hazel Maynes for making this happen so easy and quickly for me. You both were such a pleasure to to business with.

Everytime I come in, the only person that is available to assist me is Lois and she is the most unhelpful and rude customer service person I have EVER dealt with.

I find it interesting that people gave them a 1 star. Granted, you cannot please everyone every time, we all have a bad day here and there, and things don't always go our way. However, I have been with this credit union for years and never had an issue. When I have a problem, I usually email them and they get back to me within 24 hours or sometimes they took care of the problem or provided the answer by the next day. Granted I rarely have a problem, but the ones I did have was solved to satisfaction or above. It think they are great. Other banks, like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc. I would not recommend, but the Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union I would absolutely recommend. My answer - don't go by the customer reviews alone (most are biased when they have an issue) - try it yourself for a first hand experience. I say that for everything, not just a bank.

I should have waited for the new credit union to open instead of opening up an account here ! I left my old bank with a cashiers check , and went straight to Carolina Trust. Brian opened up a savings and checking account. My credit was checked - a full credit report that stays on your report for 2 years. That shouldn't even be done. They claim the patriot act says they must do that but that's not even true. Also the patriot act expired 3 years ago. That was to verify identity , not credit. Some banks may do soft credit checks , but not full ones that affect your credit.I learned all of that after the fact.Brian told me it would be one week before I could have access to the money. One week is not 7 business days which equals 12 days before I can use any of the money in my accounts. I found out the next day when I logged into the banking app, and I saw it would be June 6. I immediately called Brian . That's when I was told it was 7 business days. Told him I really needed access to my checking account to pay bills. Said he'd call me back. He didn't. So today 5/31/23 I went in to close my account, and take it to the new credit union that does not hold a cashiers check like CFCU. Brian said he had to ask his manager or whomever if I could access my money , so he called me right after I left the bank today to say that I do have to wait to June 6 to get any of my money . I told Brian that my bills will now be late - he did not care one bit. Carolina Trust doesn't care about their members !Crazy how they hold your money !like this !!! It was a cashiers check ! It's only going to get worse !!! Be sure to find the new sc credit union in our area , and stay away from Carolina Trust.

I am fed up with this bank.. I call and I’m on hold for 20-30 mins before the answering machine finally picks up for me and then asks me to leave a message. I have to send 3-4 emails to different people before I get a response and when I do get a response, the lack of knowledge and customer service is absolutely infuriating.. I ordered a credit card with this bank 41 days ago and I still have NOT received my card. I’ve been told by several different people that my card was shipped out on a certain date and then others tell me it has not been shipped. The whole reason I got this credit card was because they were offering one year interest free. So with that said, my family and I were going to Paris, France to the Christmas markets to go Christmas shopping. I never got my card so my family cancelled our trip. Needless to say, it was not a happy day for us. If you’re looking for a competent bank in the Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach area; DO NOT waist your time with this Credit Union. I see why now their review scores are so low on all major platforms… DO BETTER!!!

Deposited a deposit refund check from my previous landlord 0n 10/15/2021 and teller tells me will be a two day hold. I look on my online banking and see that the check won't be released for 9 business days after this weekend. That is 10/28/2021. Mind you that today is Friday! I call the number to see if it was a clerical error. They tell me the manager at the surfside branch is trying to establish relationship with me as a client. How does this make me want to have a banking relationship when it takes so long to recieve my funds! This is totally BS!

I have gotten 3 cars loans, a mortgage and have banked here for quite a few years now. These folks are amazing. They may not have Apple Pay but their rates are great and Reena (Branch Manager) is awesome. She's extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I really appreciate her and her team who all pitched in to help me through my most recent car loan. Great people all around and I can't say enough good things about this bank. Thank you all who work here!

used the driveup window for the second time since joining. VERY rude person who has a control problem. Not a good representation for a business. I will not use that drive up again. Also,I deosited a bank check from a local bank for 15K and over 9K was on hold for 12 days.. Shouldn"t that clear much sooner bank to bank. Strange. Used Credit Union services for 40 years in previous location. Never dealt with a poor association like this one.

20 minutes waiting in the lobby chairs not one person asked what I needed! This was the second time in the lobby to get a new Debit card. I will open a new business checking account at another financial institution and then close the one at Carolina Federal Trust Credit UnionHow sad this branch is. Or maybe the entire company
