“Always worth going in there to see if they have something you need. But even better if you need to get rid of something. And you don't want much money for it.Instead of the aggravation of dealing with low ballers and free ballers, just donate it great organization”

“The Claire Chapin Epps Family YMCA is an outstanding fitness facility and one of the nicest YMCAs I’ve visited.

My only disappointment is that they do not honor the Nationwide YMCA Reciprocity Program. Since we were visiting from out of town, we had to pay a $15 day pass per person. I believe they also offer weekly passes, which may be a better value for visitors.

That said, everything else about this facility was excellent. It is exceptionally clean, beautifully maintained, and the staff was welcoming and friendly. The fitness equipment is in excellent condition, with a full selection of Life Fitness machines and cardio equipment. One feature I especially appreciated was that members are allowed to use the spin bikes for individual workouts even when there isn’t a scheduled cycling class.

The only piece of equipment I wished they had was a seated calf raise machine, but I was able to improvise using the leg press.

The facility has plenty of parking and is surrounded by beautiful grounds. Right next door is Barc Parc North, a shaded dog park, and the Colonel Robert Bell Path, a paved walking and biking trail that looked exceptionally well maintained. We didn’t have time to explore the trail, but it looked like a wonderful place to walk or ride.

Aside from the lack of nationwide reciprocity, this is a first-class YMCA. If you’re in the Myrtle Beach area and need a place to work out, I highly recommend it.”
