I have never had an issue with my taxes until I used these services this year 2024! The IRS has placed me under identity thief because of Jackson Hewitt. The day I did my taxes I was told I was not allowed to receive a print out of my completed taxes according to management and was not given no other options to obtain them. I was assisted with an online account days later from the call center. I stated I did not want to complete my taxes because of the ridiculous fees and was told I would have to pay the $300 right now that was borrowed when I started my taxes with my paystubs in Jan 2024. Of course, I did not have that and was forced to complete my taxes. I contacted corporate three times for a total of three weeks and each time was told I would be contacted by the district manager and still today 2/21/24 no response via email nor phone. They charged me about $1300 to complete my taxes for taxes that were not even done correctly in the first place. According to the policy they are responsible for mistakes on your taxes but they will not help you fix anything dealing with the IRS. I am furious at this point. Please just do your taxes your self. I dont understand how a company has everything, Photo ID, SS cards and birth certificates to complete your taxes and still end up with an identity thief situation. This has been the worst experience Ive ever had to deal with, with a "professional tax place". !!!! Horrible.!!!!

The tax preparer was very nice and professional I had received a coupon for 50% off she applied to my fine and but call corporate for approval they wouldn't honor it even the ad in Facebook had coupon

I ended up running from this place. I have rentals and came in with a manila folder full of every tax doc and receipt I had. The lady at JH had a tiny desk and no space to review my papers. I told her I have rentals and she said she's never done rentals before. How exciting. How is she a tax preparer, in Myrtle beach, and never done rentals? She also said it will be between $600-$700 to do my taxes. I said that's double what I pay a CPA in NY. She took all of my papers and didn't know what most were. She handed me back nearly every document my CPA from NY always asked for. She used only the paperwork from my mortgages, my student loan and my job. All my property tax and everything else, she didn't want. I paid taxes, she's got to want it!! She spent 30 minutes struggling and then called someone. They did my taxes on their end. When they were done, they said I owed $8000 in taxes and owed them $1000 to enter the numbers from the six papers. I said no, recheck the taxes. They came back and said I was owed $2000. There was a 10k blunder. They then said they FOUND me that 10k like they did an amazing job. I said if I'm owed it, they didn't hook me up. They screwed up originally and almost cost me 10k. At this point I was terrified to move forward, grabbed all my papers and left. I then contacted a CPA here in Myrtle Beach. If you have simple taxes, then free software can do your taxes. If you have complicated taxes, you need someone who knows what they are doing and will do a good job. Not rush and ignore most of your docs.
