I’ve been a loyal Pottery Barn customer for over 10 years. Beyond the beautiful furnishings and wide variety of options, what has always brought me back is the exceptional customer service, I like to feel good about where I spend my money.
Unfortunately, my recent visit to the Myrtle Beach location at Market Commons left me deeply disappointed. When my family and I walked in, all of the employees were gathered at the register chatting. We were greeted, but the interaction felt forced, as if assisting us was more of an obligation than genuine service.
My husband was looking for picture frames, and I was browsing for holiday deals and armchairs. Before I headed to the back of the store, I noticed a white woman and her son casually walking from the back to the front near the employees. When I made my way to the same area, a white sales associate suddenly followed me, pretending to be occupied with her phone. I moved to the front of the store, she followed again. When I walked back to the rear once more, now with my husband holding the items he planned to purchase, she did the exact same thing.
This behavior was not only unprofessional, it was disgraceful. What made it even more troubling was the clear difference in how other customers were treated. The woman and her son who passed through the back moments earlier were not followed or supervised, yet I was shadowed repeatedly.
I truly hate to say this, because I’ve always loved Pottery Barn, but this experience made me question whether I should continue supporting a company when an employee feels comfortable bringing prejudice, bias, or even racism into the workplace. Money is green and spends the same, regardless of who’s holding it.
If I could give this store a rating below zero, I would. I have already filed a complaint with corporate, and I sincerely hope this issue is addressed so no other customer has to experience what we did.
It appears that this is a continuing issue for this Pottery Barn location after reading past reviews.

Best quality pottery, linens & furniture( limited selection) ! Beautiful home furnishings by far. Although a bit pricey...you get the looks & quality that you pay for! One of my favorite stores.

This place is a joke!! Not sure who is running it but they haven’t a clue how to do their job!! We ordered a coffee table for our condo in Calabash. We live in NY which is where we ordered it. We were told that having it delivered to their Myrtle Beach store would be no problem for a pick up between the 3rd and - 7th of October. We have been here calling the store about the table only to be told it hasn’t been delivered. The dates of the 3rd to the 7th were merely suggested dates and when it gets here it gets here. We are flying back to NY on the 12th. So I emailed their corporate contact only to find out that the coffee table has been delivered and that it is at the store!!!!! One would think that we would have been contacted. After all that is what AMY said she would do once it arrives. I don’t understand the incompetince of some people!!! This is the last time I deal with Pottery Barn. It’s not the same corporation that it use to be.

So disappointed.. I have been a loyal PB customer for over 25 years. The manager should take a hard look at the customer experience he provided. No consideration for the time spent traveling to a “confirmed class”.. no preparation.. 10 minutes and “you can come back in 2 hours” . Planned to make several purchases today.. guess I’m not a valuable customer.

I have been having an issue with PB Corporate for over a year with NO resolution. I walked into this store and mentioned it to Charmion Baez, a design specialist, and within 10 minutes my problem was solved. Charmion and manager, Michael gained no sale from me, they were just being helpful and amazing. I am beyond happy with this store. I will absolutely use this location for my design needs and future purchases. Thank you!

Came to return an item that I purchased online , the lady at the register was with another lady looking at the computer , I asked if i can return an online purchase she reply really rude “Im with a costumer” . The other worker looked at us up and down definitely judged us by the way we look , and act like she’s doing us a favor . Did not have a pleasant experience , the costumer service is terrible fot such a high end store . We will not shop there for sure again .

This store was smaller than most of the locations I have been to. I had questions, but wasn’t really able to find anyone to help me. I ended up buying a wreath and they did offer to look in the back and see if there was a box for it for storage. Unfortunately, they didn’t have one because they came in a box of 4. I was hoping to find more dishes and linens to check out, but they had a small selection.

Beware of ordering book cases from Pottery Barn… They’ll come unassembled. If you order front door delivery, they could just leave them in your yard like they did mine. I would never of waited four months for bookshelves that I have to put together myself. Can’t find the value… SO UNHAPPY

Took 8 months to get furniture delivered, then despite it being "white glove" service with furniture assembled and boxes removed the drivers just dropped the boxes in a room and left. We have 2 children's and 1 teen bed to assemble plus 2 heavy dressers to remove from boxes. Then we have to take the boxes that do not fit in our vehicle to a recycling center. Lousy company!

Ordered 2 couches and 1 bed. Couch was never ordered despite being brushed off with the usual excuse that furniture takes a long time. We understood the wait, but after several months with no momentum on the order we knew something was wrong. Bed showed up with one of the other couches. The headboard was correct, but the bed frame was from a different size and model bed. They had completely lost the bedframe. Was reassured it would be found and delivered with the couch. Couch showed up but no bed frame, the distribution center didn't even have a record of it. Pottery Barn said that we would have to order it all over again. The sales people are OK, but beware of extreme hassles with the ordering and distribution process.

This company is absolutely inept. Ordered a couch in November and the delivery got pushed back to February, this is the best part, I received notifications that my delivery was up next, then “Your driver has arrived” then “thanks your item has been delivered” and nothing was delivered! When I called it took 5 calls over a span of a week for them to tell me they couldn’t find the items and couldn’t give me a straight answer, this was 2 weeks ago and they still don’t have an answer for me. The delivery hub is horrible, they are useless and rude. So I still have no resolution, it still says “Delivered” but they were great at charging my credit card $6k! What a joke of a company. I would recommend to never ever order anything or do any kind of business with Pottery Barn. Unacceptable.

This is the worst company we have ever dealt with. We will never order from this company again or deal with the distribution center again. It is now January, over a handful of cancellations and hours upon hours of waiting and working around scheduling. It is now January and we have been waiting for our delivery since September. We have been told numerous different things that never add up. They can't find one piece, but have another, the delivery is cancelled and all of the sudden the piece they apparently couldn't find will show up without the piece they apparently did have. We have had tiny pieces of a pottery barn bed sitting in our floor for months now. These people must be on heavy, heavy drugs because they are the biggest mess of a company I have ever seen with no regard for customer service, time, ect. Total nightmare.
