Our house used to have a handicapped resident before we lived here. This allowed our mailbox to be on the front of the house instead of posted out in the yard at the street. The post office had sent a notice asking us to put a mailbox up, and we planned on it. However, my husband and I had just gotten married, were traveling a lot, working out of town, etc. so it took a little while to get done. Without warning or notification, the post office began holding our mail. My updated social security card was held there, my husband’s car loan documents were held there, and much more. After being confused and frustrated about where on earth all of our mail was for long enough, my mom went to the post office (BECAUSE WE WORK OUT OF TOWN AND ARE NOT IN NEWBERRY DURING THE POST OFFICE’S OPEN HOURS!!!) and got all of our mail. They also vaguely explained that their mailman just “didn’t want to keep going up to the porch”. After that, they started delivering our mail to our porch again. Weeks later, my husband needed to get some things done at the DMV, so he was in town during the post office’s open hours. He went in to figure out the exact requirements and reason they held our mail. They then explained that a handicapped person lived at our house before us, and so they were allowed to have a mailbox on the front porch. THIS WAS NEVER EXPLAINED TO US UNTIL NOW. We do understand this, but it took a whole lot of hassle for them to actually tell us what was going on (my parents live within city limits and their mailbox is on their front porch — no handicapped person lives there, and their mail has been delivered with zero issues for 10 years). Anyway, we’ve put up our mailbox, and it’s been there for about a week and a half now. However, we still hadn’t received any real mail…. Until yesterday. Our mailbox was FULL of other mail they had held from us without notification.
Alllllll this to say, the issue is now seemingly fixed, but I very much have lost my trust in their integrity. Glad we finally have our mail, I hope we continue to receive it.

I never leave bad reviews but I am just at my breaking point with this post office. They are extremely understaffed and I spend 30 minutes minimum in line almost every time. It is so frustrating. Prepare to have to wait

Man working the front counter was extremely rude. After I asked for shipping on a specimen for lab work, he picked up the box and flipped the whole package UPSIDE DOWN right in front of me, after I nicely inquired about having a “this side up” warning. If you have something that needs to be taken care of, don’t do it here.

The woman who delivers my mail never closes the mailbox so any time it rains all my mail gets soaked. Some times I can’t read anything. I have watched her do it go to another house and close theirs. We have never had any interactions with her. She just doesn’t close our mailbox.

Great post office, some great workers, but Regina Jones, they need to get rid of her lazy & rude self. 5 stars for post office, but she gets zero. Kindness breeds kindness, remember that.

They gladly took our package and shipped it back to Direct TV. It was quick and simple. There was no waiting while we were there.

Package was undeliverable to the Hampton Inn. Unsure how they can’t access the hotel as people are staying and working there. I can’t even get in touch with anyone to remedy the situation especially on a Saturday.Updates-The postmaster was very helpful and was kind enough to forward the package to my home. Thank you!

My package was addressed too my current address when I ordered. I get a notification that it was being sent back too sender. Call the post office, they say I forwarded too my old address. I did not authorize that! I been in Newberry for 6 months. I’ve had no issues getting my mail or package til this one. Employees need too know their job!
