The day I paid my two months rent PLUS security deposit of a months rent to move in and got my keys I walked into my apartment for the first time and the kitchen was completely infested with roaches and there were few others throughout the apartment. There is no way they didn’t see that. They handled the situation pretty well and I moved in when it was move in ready but still saw roaches here and there.I also mentioned that there was an outlet that looked bubbles around the edges. Nothing was checked out at the time. So when we got a lot of rain at one point I saw the roof was leaking in my kitchen. Checked the other side of the wall where the wonky outlet was and the wall around it was soaked and squishy. They don’t seem to really care that water is around an electrical outlet so now I’m just waiting for the day the building burns down.Every time I put in a maintenance request they either don’t show up or they come weeks later. Currently going on two and a half weeks since I put in a request for my dishwasher not working. The last time they came I was in the shower. They came inside, stood outside of my bathroom door and talked to me. I obviously didn’t know anyone was inside of my home and was freaked out. When I said “what?!” They said “you good in there?” NO I’m in the SHOWER. They never came back to address the issue they came for and my requests have piled up.I emailed the property manager weeks ago and he has yet to respond.I hate confrontation and don’t like being someone who has to constantly complain but I’m not sure what else I’m supposed to do.I was not told I needed to set up an Amazon locker so two packages were returned to sender by the time a usps worker left a note in my mailbox telling me I needed to set one up; though it wasn’t clear as to why. They have usps parcel lockers but apparently aren’t using them. This ended up with me having to pay shipping again for one order and usps losing my other package.Other than the maintenance team being terrible, I enjoy my space here. The plus sides are the amount of space in the apartments and he amount of outside space. Though I do wish the person who doesn’t seem to live here and just dumps fast food trash all in the parking lot every day would find somewhere else to be trashy and that people wouldn’t sit near my door on the stairs smoking weed.

Cedar Grove Apartments is a nice place to live. It's secluded and closer to an HOA neighborhood. I like living here because of its seclusion; you won't really find people here unless they live here or work here. The leasing team was amazing in helping me maneuver a very complicated situation. Mark, Ashley, and Tim were all amazing and I know I was very needy in that time. I was given an upgraded apartment and the maintenance team handled my requests very efficiently. There are different floor plans in the area and I really like the ease of applying for an apartment here. They were willing, helpful and I truly can't thank Ashley enough for making this process a breeze for my kiddo and I.Pros: the bus stop comes right to the corner of the complex for those with kids, so no need to drive your kids to school, valet trash almost daily, online payments, easy set up of online accounts, very own Amazon locker so your packages are secured, pets allowed, tennis court, pool, playground, gym and an approachable leasing team. Security features like cameras, doorbells and keypads can be installed in your apartment. I guarantee you won't find many, if any, complexes with such flexibility. Not to mention, the complex is within walking distance of Lidl, Ross, Five Below, Buffalo Wild Wings and First Watch. It is all in the backyard, well "side-yard".Cons: the cost of rent.. but it's one of the less expensive places to live and to counter that, I had no security deposit here and my only move in fees was the prorated rent for the month. Instead of a security deposit which can equal up to the cost of rent, a small fee is added to your rent to keep more money in your pocket and reduce up-front costs. So I guess it depends on your financial situation. It worked WELL for my needs.Highly recommend!

Overly priced for roach infestations, mold, electrical issues, fire hazards, tub resurfacing failures and more. I have been living here two months and my apartment is STILL getting worked on since I first applied. I have a newborn (1month old) and my apartment is infested with roachs, black mold and a molded garbage disposal which is leaving a rancid odor throughout my home due to lack of cleaning from last tenants and maintenance not doing unkeep before I moved in.

Office staff is incredibly professional, courteous, and friendly. During my tour, all of my questions were answered and I was very impressed with the clean grounds and upkeep of the buildings.

Called Ashley about a broken stove burner, a few hours later maintenance came by fixed and replaced all the burners. Basically like having a new stove top. Thank you!

Moved in 2 years ago. Was nice. New leasing agents came in and everything went down. At one point they couldn't find my lease. Tim was real rude, he's probably the reason alot of people moved out. Would'nt recommend this place under current management. Nice getting your deposit and first month's rent. Good luck after that.

Worst apartment complex. Management doesn’t care (not even the new one). Several maintenance tickets - unresolved - literal mold growing on the ceiling in several spots from the frequent roof leaks. Dishwasher broken for 3 months - no replacement. All that little stuff aside - the serious items are the safety issues. My car, and my husbands car, have been broken into multiple times - we requested cameras to deter or catch theft. No response.Mail box forced open- new credit card stolen and activated. Mail boxes fixed? Cameras added? Nope. Had to get a P.O. Box.Packages stolen from door. Help from management? Alert email (literally the least the could do to warn others) nope. Then today we wake up to find my husbands car broken into- and mine stolen. Yep completely gone. What did management say?? Gonna add cameras - nope. The thing that really gets me is the email they sent out to all tenants. Says be careful- don’t leave valuables in your car - thefts picking up around summerville. No actual warning or information about the fact that it literally happened HERE. Multiple times!Spend the 2k they’ll charge you in rent somewhere that’s safe. Not here.I’m not asking for a police force outside my door. Just that they be truthful with the tenants and take all measures they can to protect our property. Cameras. Secure mail boxes.

I have been part of Cedar Grove community for almost 3 years. I watch this apartment complex go through several leasing agents and management. Living here at first was wonderful but now I don’t know how I feel about staying here. New management is charging $41.66 to process your payment. Not putting into consideration that some on their tenants need their money. The upkeep around the community is horrible. Now they trying to overcharge you for rent and everything in the apartment is either falling apart or not updated. Only reason I’m still here is because of the school district. Very disappointed

The property has been taken over by a new property management company and it had taken a turn for the worse. They have implemented policies without informing residents in writing which is illegal. When you call for a maintenance request they do not call you back. The residential portal does not work. They do not care about their residents

Ashley is an amazing leasing agent. She was patient, kind, understanding, personable, and went above and beyond to help us secure an apartment. She is very knowledgeable and is able to direct you through all of the next steps in the rental process. To say we couldn’t have done it without Ashley is an understatement.

I've loved living at Cedar Grove. The grounds are well-maintained and safe and the staff are always courteous and professional. It's quiet and my fellow residents are friendly. I do not have any complaints with Cedar Grove and hope to live here for many years to come. - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings

Do not move here!!! They do not listen or help. It takes a million phone calls and a million emails to get a response. My mail has been stolen at least 5 times. USPS says it’s the apartments responsibility, maintenance says they’ve told the apt manager, USPS worker says they have told the apartment manager. I’ve emailed Robert Speck and the apartment manager and was ignored. Literally important documents have been stolen and THEY DO NOT CARE. Not to mention if you have any issues, good luck getting it resolved. All they care about is rent money. And they tried to increase my rent by 300. DO MOVE HERE.

I have been at this property for less than 6 months and I am already regretting it. I have several maintenance requests that I have submitted via phone, RP System and via email. I have literally begged for someone to reach out to me. There is no way to directly contact the office and even if you have an emergency maintenance issue, they will ignore the calls from the messaging center too. I am beyond frustrated!!
