Orangeburg SPCA

Pet Stores
Hours: The Orangeburg SPCA is dedicated to saving animals and giving them the chance to find a family. The people there do their best to ensure comfort and love for all the animals in their care. They do everything possible and impossible to help everyone with the resources they have. Staff and volunteers are described as special people who are welcoming, helpful, attentive, and understanding of animal lovers. They offer advice and are obviously passionate, with their work considered irreplaceable. The adoption process is noted as wonderful. Adoptions can include dog treats, toys, a collar, and a leash. Staff work hard to keep adopters updated and answer questions, even when short-staffed. They ensure paperwork is in order and have been known to give animals a bath before adoption. Many dogs are reported to look great and well taken care of in their kennels. However, some feedback suggests the facility could do a better job of cleaning, with comments on the smell and appearance. There is also a note that the area has a high prevalence of heartworms and intestinal parasites, which are treatable. The organization is believed to need more public support, financial help, and structure to achieve even more. Overall, the Orangeburg SPCA is praised for its invaluable work in helping animals find their forever homes.
