LOCALS and VACATIONERS BEWARE! We are local to Pawley's Island and like to support local businesses. We set up a rental months in advance for Christmas travel. We paid in advance for a suburban or similar size vehicle. The day I went to pick up the vehicle, they had a Wagoneer, not a Wagoneer L (which would be a similar size vehicle) for us. I let the person working know that this was not what we requested and asked to speak with the manager and I was told this was not available. I tried to explain the difference in the size of the vehicles and she had no idea what I was talking about. I even asked if they could get a larger vehicle from the airport in Myrtle Beach but she said it is the same size as a Suburban. I told them I would have to cancel my reservation and even received a cancellation print out. I drove the 40 minutes to the airport, rented a Suburban sized vehicle from National and the agent found a way to give me a discount! Fortunately my wife keeps track of our finances closely and she noticed that the Hertz rental wasn't cancelled, but on their system in Pawleys, they had labeled us as a no show. I contacted Hertz nationally and they were able to refund me. Needless to say this is one local business that I would not recommend!

Do not rent from them!! After renting cars for 50 years, this was the first time we were denied a car eventhough we rented from them 6 weeks ago and had made this reservation over 2 months ago. My SC Drivers License expires 10/25. It would not scan on their machine so no CAR.We went a mile down the road and rented a car from Enterprise.

I’ve rented from many different companies in the past but chose this one based off of pricing. I was asked personal questions I never have been from other companies about my employment. A deposit with a major credit card was also required because we choose to pay ahead. Definitely uncomfortable and unprofessional.

All of these are old comments. I live in Pawleys and just rented for the third time and the experience was great. Each time they called me in advance to insure they got the vehicle that I wanted. Very satisfied.Scott Sanders

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!! We reserved a car for our vacation in July several months in advance. We arrived to find they had no cars!!! They did not try to help us to get a car, they could have cared less. We had NO car while I Mrytle Beach, shame on them to ruin a vacation that we had looked forward to for almost a year.

Beware!!!! Very very unprofessional and rude!! I had a reservation booked for 2 weeks for a pick up truck. Day of pick up went to Hertz at 10:45 am in Pawleys Island and was told there was no truck available. There would be however a Jeep Wrangler and a Dodge Charger coming in later. They said they were waiting for the cars to be returned. I asked if i was going to get something and She told me "Yes we are just waiting for returns to come in". I did not hear from them so I called at 12:10. When i inquired about the Jeep and the Charger they originally told me was going to be available I was informed that they had to take care of their 9:30 reservations first. When i tried explaining to the woman on the phone that i have had this reservation for 2 weeks she began to talk over me saying "I don't know what to tell you. Have a good day" then hung up on me. Very rude!! At no point from when I went there originally to when I spoke to them on the phone did I have an attitude or use any foul language. At which point around 12:20 I went back to the location, I walked in and I spoke with a heavyset white male with short hair and a beard I asked for business cards with their names and the Managers name. At which time the female said " Don't give it to him". I asked for their names and the Managers name. They refused and said "No". At that point they asked me to leave and I left. Again at no point did I raise my voice or use foul language.
